Introvert: From Hiding to Thriving - How Persistence Led a Painfully Shy Person to Her Calling

Rate this book
If you're an introvert, you've probably heard something like this "Don't be so shy - you'll never get anywhere in life if you don't speak up!"I know I've heard that a million times while growing up - and even into adulthood. The sad thing is, in our culture, it's mostly true. Personalities are often categorized as introverted or extroverted, and then comparisons are inevitably made. In our culture, unfortunately, extroverts are celebrated as good and introverts are considered - well, almost bad - or at least not nearly as desirable as extroverts. Introverts, however, have a great deal to bring to society. But how do we get our message and skills out there, when (as is our nature) we often wait for our turn to speak in a world that never seems to shut up and give us a chance? I am an example of someone who has (after many painful life lessons) overcome (or at least masked) much of what is believed to be the pitfalls of an introverted personality. I have found a way to fit into the world and to use my low key nature to my benefit. I am now a successful career woman - and mother of an introverted child - and LOVING it.Come, and let's see if the lessons learned in my journey can help you as you push forward in your journey. I think you'll enjoy it!
