Casey Peters has a problem and that problem is the half-Korean hottie that moved in when her former roommate moved out.Now her life has become like an episode from one of her favorite dramas, complete crazy exes, roommate shenanigans and confusing plot twists. This story is a Naughty the perfect amount of sexy to satisfy, but not make your hips big.
C.S. Mae is only in front of a computer when she's writing. She's hopelessly backward, socially awkward, and mostly hides with a book in front of the fire, fighting for space in her favorite chair with her two cats. Romance novels are her first love, Kdramas are a close second.
A very quick and cute read. I love Korean Dramas and this story is an easy fix of one.
Casey is a girl who is obsessed with Korean Dramas and watching them constantly with her friends. She works at a video game company and eventually needs a new roommate. A coworker mentions his cousin and Casey finds herself rooming with a half-Korean guy. She likes him and their friendship blooms. Throw in an ex boyfriend of side drama and the rest would spoil it all.
Overall I liked the story because things kept happening. Every chapter started with a K-Drama quote and concept which would then somewhat overlap through the particular chapter. The references were cool and the mention of other real life dramas was nice. The ending was just a bit rushed though and a few plot holes here and there. There needs to be a sequel, but I believe the other books are totally new stories.
Casey needs a roommate since her bestie, Lola is moving in with her boyfriend. Casey is desperate, she can't afford the rent alone. Casey works as a gaming programmer, her go worker tells her his male cousin needs a place badly. Casey doesn't see a problem...then she meets the sexy korean cousin, David. Casey has a lot of unresolved issues that focus on one bad relationship. She lacks passion, care for her appearance, or other people's thoughts of her. When a position opens her job, the new boss brings back all Casey has hidden and ran from, David is by her side helping. Well that is until....read the book to find out everything.
A meet-cute romance with Kdrama inputs. I love watching kdramas and I can relate to Casey binge-watching with her girlfriends once a week. The ex was horrible and I would love the author to have put a much different closure for him. David seemed kind and really liked Casey from the start. But I don’t understand why he still accepts his mother’s blind dates and dates a girlfriend out of obedience. He would have outrightly said no. Well, Traditional Korean moms seemed different though. It’s a good thing his mom took an instant liking to Casey otherwise it would have been hell for her. The ending seemed rushed. Would definitely check out the rest of the series especially Lola’s.
Romances have always been my hearts comfort food; Korean Dramas my televised version of potato chips; I always need just one more. So this fusion recipe of entertainment perfectly suits my playtime palette.
The editing is professional, the writing entertaining, and it's embrace of tropes as its plot movement is pure genius.
Her boyfriend let her down very cruelly. She lost all self-respect. I enjoyed the story of her picking herself up again, although I do not think women should live with their lovers until they are married. This story is well written and edited.
"3.5 out of 5 stars! This exciting, hilarious, and sweet novel keeps you on your toes while you follow Casey throughout the antics she gets into! David and Casey were similar in so many ways that it was easy to want to root for them to finally get together."
This was cute, fluffy. I thought that the MFC's problems were resolved rather quickly, that her change of attitude was a bit quicker than may happen in real life. I did like the use of K-drama (Korean dramas) tropes introducing each chapter. It was amusing to see an American take on those tropes.
Loved this book so much I told my sister about it. If you like the innocence and slow romance of Kdramas then this book is for you! What helps is that I understood all the references!!! Go Lee Min Ho!
