The Thorne Trilogy Book 2 Calling a Demon forth wasn’t the wisest thing the Ayers witches have ever done. For centuries, the Ayers have been slaves of the Demon Lilith, one Ayers witch destined to do her will while another was sacrificed to the Hunters. But Monroe Jacobs has changed the rules … A witch from the Ayers line, Monroe’s powers have always been connected to Demons and now she knows why. Once a slave to Lilith, she has thrown off her blood ties to the Demon queen by calling on her son, the hybrid-Demon, Luther. Now Monroe must discover what it means to be a witch while fighting off demonic possession. For Luther “Thorne” Craig, his attraction to the witch, Monroe, isn’t just a complication, it’s a distraction. He’s always been happy with his life, serving the denizens of Hell while living flamboyantly, but now he’s declared war on his mother and Lilith won’t rest until she sees him dead. Armed with her own book of shadows, Monroe is dragged into a civil war between mother and son while Luther fights his demonic need to truly possess her.

I loved Luther in the Redemption Series. I loved him even more in Cursed. In Possessed, I fell head over heels. R.K. Ryals has managed to take a ruthless, unapologetic demon, and turn him into one of the hottest book boyfriends ever!!

Possessed is dark and full of depth. Monroe is a fabulous heroine...smart funny, brave, and bad ass! There were moments where I was on the edge of my seat, (cause Ryals can write an action scene like there's no tomorrow) times I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard, (yeah, she's funny as hell too) moments where I was pained for the characters, and...oh yes...moments where the chemistry between Luther and Monroe was so freaking hot that I needed a glass of ice water!!

I loved this book beyond words!! I was completely ruined from starting another book for days. It took me that long to wrap my head around this epic bit of awesomeness from R.K. Ryals!!

I received this as an ARC.. and I must say doesn't disappoint!! Luther is amazing! Luther is as bad as a bad boy gets but so good at it! You can't help but love him! Monroe is just Roe.. so much talent and so many secret to uncover.. Would you want someone linked to your thoughts all the time? Better yet someone you feel drawn to....
Join Luther and Roe on the mission to discover who she is and what all she is capable of. Dealing with Lilith is the least of the worries of these two love birds.. Can good and evil unite as one and work along side each other?? Is Luther as bad as he claims to be? Will Roe love her new found powers? Be ready for twists and turns and seeing a softer side to Luther! love how R.K. brings these character to life and continues each story but not taking away from anyone. Can't wait for the final book in this Trilogy.

If i could give this book 100 stars, i would!

Can i just say that this was an AMAZING read? It was wonderfully written, full of humour, action and romance. Nothing less than expected. Totally in love with Luther, baddest bad boy there is.
Monroe was awesome, loved her strength.
I cant even form anymore words to say about this. It was just too enjoyable. The ending was sooo perfect!

Ok, point made, no need for the 100 stars.

Cant wait till the next book comes out!!!
(if i can stay sane till then)

I loved this book! I finished the first book, Cursed, and I just had to read this one to see what would happen next.

I love Monroe as a character she's awesome, bad ass, smart, funny, and not to mention extremely brave.
As with the first book, the whole plot and storyline was well written, and I found myself turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. There were even some nail bitting moments in some of the action scenes but not enough to give you panic attacks, just enough to keep you hooked and turning pages.

I liked that we get more insight into Luther and Monroe's relationship, like how much closer they got together although I would have liked to see them actually say how they really felt out loud, you know to clarify things but that would have been so out of character for them both, especially for Luther
Other than that, we get to know more of their pasts and we learn that Monroe and NeeCee are even more special, they're descendants from the Greek Goddess Hecate, and that because of it, Monroe is a soul hunter plus she has more immense and greater power now. After Monroe trades her soul to Luther to save her family from the grasp of Lilith, they get much more time together and we get to see different sides of Luther and his past deeds.

All in all, it was nice to see the characters grow again, especially Monroe who learned to accept herself as an Ayers witch who was directly descended from the Goddess Hecate and Luther was still bad but lovable too. and we even get to seeDayton and Marcas for a small cameo.

I can't wait for the last book of the trilogy to come out now! On R.K. Ryals' website, it says how the book Dancing with the Devil: The Thorne Trilogy Book 3 (Coming 2014)
description

but there's no definite date yet! So I will be anxiously waiting for it to come out to read the final conclusion on this pair of idiots, Monroe and Luther! With the way it ended in this book, the epilogue with Amos and the other Deadly Sins, I hope they get a happy ending!

entertaining exciting read full of engaging characters - read Books 1 & 2 on my Kindle Unlimited, however unexpectedly book 3 is not on Kindle Unlimited and is available for full price, I note that Amazon pull this stunt with a lot of trilogies and despite really enjoying this series i wont be forced to pay for book 3 as I am already paying for a Kindle Unlimited subscription! so alas I am unable to give a full review.

Good 2nd book

An excellent 2nd book to the trilogy. I like the chemistry between the two main characters. There is action all the way through linking to the Redemption series which is another set of good books that should be read before this trilogy. Recommended

this is the second book of "the throne trilogy" it starts off right where it left off in Cursed. Luther and monroe declared war on lillith and well, they are in a mess. but Luther knows what he is doing and he has his blonde sexy witch to help him along the way. this book was action packed, intense and SEXY!!! this series was much more intimate than the redemption series. Monroe is still trying to figure out her family history with the help of Luther. she realizes she has more power than she was aware of. her family had a crazy history which can either be her encouragement or it can leave her completely ruined. luther on the other hand is trying to get what he knows is rightfully his and on his mother hand, it will only go on the wrong direction. but he is also trying to come in terms with the fact that he wants more than the feisty blonde's soul from her. they have to work together to bring down Lillith and stop her craziness from going out of hand.

monroe
collagejkg

monroe is a kickass witch. i love how she is not shy and she knows what she wants. she is not one of those girls that pretends to not want to the guy but all the while they have had sex with them in the head. lol. she was strong and determined. she knew the consequences of giving her soul to him and she also knew that it wasn't just her soul why he wanted her. she isn't very apologetic either and i loved it. she made her own decisions. there were no hang ups or what ifs. their relationship wasn't rushed. it was relatable. his looks weren't the major theme. i loved how Monroe saw for who he is. she knew he was bad and she accepted that and she also knew there were more to him than the bad boy exterior. it wasn't insta love or lust moment. sure they were attracted but she wasn't pathetic like all the other heroines. looks are the only thing that matters to them. monroe sure knows how to bring this man to his knees. i loved the way she dealt with him. she was very real and honest. i honestly fell in love with her since redemption. and Monroe and dayton are so cute.

Luther(it's ok to drool. i understand. :p)
photo 1

luther...well, let's just say i'm willing to sell my soul to any devil or witch if that means that i get to have him. WHY IS HE SO SEXY?!?!? he was just downright bad and he wasn't one bit apologetic. he doesn't have a lot regret. he accepts what he is and who is. he is not gonna change. he wanted her and he took her. sure, it was a bit unconventional but it worked out just fine in the end. but beneath all that, he has a soft spot for his fav blonde witch. he protected her and was honest with her. he never lied. he was plain and simple. even if it was harsh, he told her. he came to realize that he wants more from her than just her soul. goodness, the way he wanted her. he wasn't shy about it at all. he took every opportunity he had to show her how much he wanted her.as time went by, he opened up to her. but what i liked the most that, even going through two books, even when he started opening up to her, he didn't change. he was still the same. he didn't become a sappy romantic or a wuss. he was still the power hungry, greedy, straight forward and lust driven man, which truly was refreshing. HE CAN HAVE ME!!!! lol.

i particularly like how the words "i love you" wasn't thrown around. they didn't have to say it to make it obvious. they came to an understanding and they were absolutely happy about that.

"I only want one Ayers' soul. Yours. Are you willing to sign a contract in blood to give it to me in exchange for your family?" (yes. HAVE IT!!!)

"that's me protecting you. When I'm really ready to have you in my bed, I won't need pick up lines." (JUST HAVE ME, GODDAMN IT!!)

Luther growled, his teeth sharpening as he nuzzled my neck. "You are light in darkness, water on fire. I will do things for you. Only you." (yup, i'm a goner)

this is a definite read. RK Ryals books are hidden gems. you HAVE to read this series. if you didn't, pick up your copy now. you are missing out. Luther is one sexy alpha demon who will make swoon left and right; and monroe will make you wanna make your own witch book and just be a badass. lol.

XOXO

"You are light in darkness, water on fire. I will do things for you. Only you."

What a wonderful addition.. This seals the deal. Monroe and Luther are hotter than hell fire.

Monroe has had six months of dealing with the fact that she called on a demon. She did not do this without a purpose, but still he is a demon! She did this to save her family, she would do it again.
This being said she still has to deal with the dark images, her soul and possibly her mind being in danger.
You know that bad boy you have to love. The one that does not apologize for who he is! Well peeps that is Luther Craig.
Luther is bad boy personified. He screams "run" however you don't know if you are running away or for him. (Well I would run for him!)
These two have heat. He wants Monroe, but the problem is he is not the only one.

My heart sunk. "Selling my soul?" I whispered.
Luther watched me, his eyes darkening, his pupils dilating until they were almost black."Your soul, Monroe. In exchange for your help, I will release the Ayer's souls, but the price for releasing your family comes dear. I only want one Ayers' soul. Yours.

Yes - you read that right.. Twists and turns and one hellish demon Mom/Queen. Really I want someone to POUNCE her!
Can they stop this, can they save Monroe's family. Stop this before her soul is gone? Is one evil better than the other?
I personally would be ok with the evil of one swoon worthy demon named Luther. Don't judge me read it and you will be under his spell too.

“This voice was smooth. This voice was chocolate, sin and champagne. It was strawberries covered in whipped cream, and it sang to me, filling my abused head with a calmness I knew didn’t belong to me. This was the real Luther Craig…”

If you want a series that is addicting in the best possible way, this is for you.
I love Monroe. She is spunky and full of spirit. I fell in love with her awhile back and I have enjoyed her growth.
Luther is decadently sinful in the best possible way.
I cannot stress enough.. Read this series. Get lost in the pages of this wonderful world. You won't be disappointed.
Book 3 please and thank you.. I just love dancing with the devil. Wink wink!
Hey RK Ryals are you in that writing cave yet? Snap snap! Lol!

My review for: Possessed by R.K. Ryals
(book 2 of The Thorne Trilogy)
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Shanna Roberson

I know I say this every time but damn. Possessed is an amazing next chapter to the Thorne Trilogy! Monroe and Luther are pure fire together. Not that I had any doubts of that. I mean, it’s Roe and Thorne. Just wow.

Ellie ‘Monroe’ Jacobs had a hard six months. It had been six months since she called upon the Demon Luther and let him into her head all for the sake of freeing her family from the Demon Queen, Lilith.

But there are dark things haunting her dreams, images that didn’t belong to her but to the one that drives to possess her soul. With sleep seeming impossible and spirits that are relentlessly drawn to her, she feels she is going mad if she doesn’t find relief soon. And relief comes in the swoon worthy. Bad boy, Luther Craig.

Luther doesn’t know what it is about the blonde-haired witch but her light draws him in like a moth to a flame. He wants her. He wants to possess her. He wants her very soul. But he isn’t the only one. But what he wants more than anything is power. He craves it and he craves Monroe.

With one of her own taken by the Demon Queen, Luther and Monroe race to save what is left of her family before it’s too late. Before this war of Hell is over, one of the demons will have Monroe’s soul and reign over Hell’s domain. Monroe can only hope for the lesser of two evils.

I know you are asking yourself, well he is a demon, how swoon worthy can a Prince of hell be? How to describe the delicious Luther Craig?

“This voice was smooth. This voice was chocolate, sin and champagne. It was strawberries covered in whipped cream, and it sang to me, filling my abused head with a calmness I knew didn’t belong to me. This was the real Luther Craig…”

Yeah, kind of like that. He is sin and bad and addictive. And Monroe isn’t the only one that will fall for him. He is the ultimate bad boy. Monroe has grown so much from Cursed. She is fierce and protective and totally badass. I can’t stress enough how much I adore this series, these characters and the worlds R.K. creates. Just brilliant and I can’t wait for the final chapter in Roe and Luther’s story.

Review 6******

This is the second book in the Thorne Trilogy. I loved it!

Monroe Jacobs is a fantastic character! I loved her when I first met her in Redemption (The Redemption Trilogy). She is the best friend of Dayton Blainey. She also happens to be a witch, a very talented one, who is now tied to Luther "Thorne" Craig, a hybrid demon.

Luther Craig is a complex character. He is very arrogant, power hungry and decidedly sexy! He is also attracted to Monroe (and her soul) more than he would like. I was unsure about this character when I met him in the Redemption series, but getting to know this contrary demon has been great fun!

First off, I would like to say I LOVE the new covers for this series! They are gorgeous!

This is a book that I have been wanting to read for some time. I finally got to read it and was quickly thrown back into a battle of wills between Lilith, Luther's mother, and Luther himself. Lilith is desperate to get control back over the Ayres family; whilst Luther wants to gain control of his mother's kingdom in Hell. The story continues from the end of Cursed and see's Monroe fighting more than demon possession; her attraction to Luther is growing.
The story is full of action and danger, and kept me turning the pages! I struggled to put this book down, and read it in one sitting! (Thank goodness for weekends!). When the book ended, I was quite sad, because I wanted to keep reading! I am looking forward to reading the concluding book in the trilogy to find out what happens next!

R.K. Ryals has written another fantastic YA Paranormal Romance Series. She is one of my favourite authors, and I will read anything written by her.

I HIGHLY recommend this series if you love YA Paranormal Romances with demons, angels, gargoyles, witches and strong characters that come alive on the page! I also highly recommend that you read The Redemption Series (to find out how it all began) and Acropolis Series (Conor Reinhardt's story). - Lynn Worton

Wow. I loved Luther since finding him in the Redemption series then Cursed And Possessed made me fall for the demon even more. I was given this book for my honest review and that's what you are gonna get.

I love Luther. I love how he doesn't pretend to be all soft and gooey. What you see is what you get. He's bad. Truly bad but at the same time he's faithful to the ones he cares about. Namely Monroe. She is a feisty witch born of the Ayers coven. Monroe and Luther have a connection to each other. They have since the moment Luther kissed Monroe two years before. It's stronger now though Monroe doesn't completely know why just yet.

To save her coven from an aged old curse brought upon them from one of her ancestors Monroe had to give herself to Luther completely. What she didn't know was that she left her family open to Lilith's wrath. And boy did she come at them with a vengeance. With Monroe's family torn aperture from the decision she made her and Luther set out to try and save them.

What I loved most about this story is the relationship between Luther and Monroe. They have the same sense of humor and Monroe is attracted to Luther for who he is. She expects him to be the bad boy he is. She knows he will never be good but his faith in hem is enough to have her falling head over heals for him. Luther also cares about Monroe but he doesn't show it in the most obvious ways. He shows it in the only way he knows and that's ok.

Possessed did not disappoint me whatsoever and the end... Well let's just say the next one better come real soon because I want more of Luther and Monroe please..

I have one thing to say, I LOVE LUTHER CRAIG! I thought he was funny in The Redemption Series, but didn't think too much about him as far as being "book boyfriend" material. In Cursed I got a taste of his sexiness BUT in Possessed he shocks me with his delicious wickedness. He is so different from most of the leading males. He doesn't sugar coat everything, he tells it like it is and doesn't apologize for taking what he wants. He is part demon and embraces his dark side with no regrets. Although I have to say, I think Monroe has found a slight chink in his armor.

Monroe is pure awesomeness! I love how spunky she is and that she doesn't let fear stop her from trying to save the ones she loves. She takes loyalty to whole new level when she binds herself to a demon and follows him to hell. Instead of sitting around feeling sorry for herself, she fights even harder. Of course it doesn't hurt that Luther is the demon and he tempts her in his sexy ways. I think this quote sums up the chemistry they seem to have.

"I don't care where you came from and what you've done." "I care about what you could do. Make me understand you. Show me your Hell."
Luther's brow furrowed. "What are you doing, witch?"
I watched him. "I'm being bad."

Great continuation of The Thorne Trilogy. The hillarious banter between Monroe and Luther just gets better. The stakes keep getting higher and I can't wait to see what happens between these two. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the trilogy. Love this series and I highly recommend Possessed.

Possessed (The Thorne Trilogy Book 2) by R. K. Ryals

Review by Becky Harley

5 Stars

I have not yet read the books relating to Dayton and Marcas and I think I would have found this book even better had I read them first. Although the book still makes sense without reading the previous stories, I would recommend reading the others first.

In this book Monroe and Luther must work together to defeat Lilith and win the war in hell.

I loved Luther as a main character. He was just the right amount of evil to make him interesting, but also relatable and I found myself falling in love with his bad boy image. Monroe was also an interesting character. She has a lot of inner strength with a lot of personal demons (pun intended) which makes her the perfect heroine.

This book was even better than the first in the trilogy. The relationship between Luther and Monroe was intense and humorous. I love them as a couple. There is a lot more drama and intrigue in this book and the story had more depth and detail. The strength and determination of the characters is humbling. Most people would agree that they would do anything to save their family.

Overall I loved this story an am looking forward to the last in the trilogy.

Possessed, Book 2 in The Thorne Trilogy

Monroe Jacobs is BAD ASS. She is my favorite character. Monroe is feisty, strong and sarcastic. If she thinks it, she says it. I love that.

Luther Craig is the bad boy you can’t help but love. You are drawn to him even on paper. Luther takes sexy half demon to a whole new level.

With Monroe and Luther as a team, Hell had better look out. In Possessed, Monroe comes into her own by tapping into her past and her ancestry. Turns out she is as much of a bad ass as Luther. With the two of them teaming up to over throw Lilith the Kingdoms of Hell better watch their backs.
One of my favorite parts of this story is when Monroe goes into the visions of her ancestors to discover why the Ayers witches are cursed and to gain knowledge from them. In each of her past lives she has always been a strong and decisive woman. I love her.

RK Ryals is an amazing author and I am enjoying watching her writing (while already fantastic) grow with each book.

Another fantastic read set in R. K. Ryal's fantastic paranormal world. This book picked up where Cursed left off and follows Monroe as she tries to save her family from bondage to Lilith. Monroe is recruited by Luther into a civil war in hell for his mother's kingdom and begins to discover things about her ancestors and her abilities she didn't know. This story was great and really well-written. I liked getting to see more of both Monroe and Luther's characters and their own unique love story. I liked how this book revealed more of Luther and showed that he really isn't a good guy but that doesn't mean he doesn't care. He truly is a grey character in most things except where Monroe is concerned. I also liked how Monroe finally got to figure out why her powers were so unique and realized just how strong she is. I can;t wait to see what will happen in the next book now that Luther has his mother's kingdom and the other demons ruling hell are conspiring for war against him.

Luther I missed him so much, "I only want one Ayers' soul. Yours. Are you willing to sign a contract in blood to give it to me in exchange for your family?" He's still cocky, "you really think I would have let you land without catching you?" Luther asked." He still takes what he wants, "he chuckled, his lips lowering to the side of my neck. "I don't deny myself things. I like touching. You would too if you allowed yourself to enjoy it." He's really self confident, "that's me protecting you. When I'm really ready to have you in my bed, I won't need pick up lines." And I think he's falling in love with a little powerful witch, "Luther growled, his teeth sharpening as he nuzzled my neck. "You are light in darkness, water on fire. I will do things for you. Only you." I was very pleased with how it ended, well with Luther and Monroe anyway.

I've never highlighted a book so much!!! I love so many sentences in this one!!! This writer is flippin amazing!! I love this story! Dare I say I love it more than the first one AND I loved the first one!!! This is more intense and we're taken to places the mind shouldn't have to visit but the journey there with our favorite character, Monroe is amazing. We get a front row seat to all the horrors and mysteries that surround her life right now and the crazy thing is the only person she's comfortable with is a demon. Oh do we get to fall in love with a bad boy in this one!!! Even in love we never forget he's a demon in war to takeover Hell. Well thought out and amazing detail! I'm anxiously awaiting the next one!!! This is gonna be awesome I just know it!!! Aghhhhh! The anticipation will kill me!!! A must read series!!!

I cannot say enough good things about R.K. Ryals and Possessed. First off let me say she is one of my all time favorite authors EVER. Yes that's right EVER! I have read almost all of her books and have not been disappointed yet! Possessed was no exception! It was full of adventure and love and everything in between! Once I started I could not put it down. I don't want to give anything away b/c I am good at spoilers ;) but seriously pick up a copy of any of R.K. Ryals books and you will not be sorry you did!

She makes the demons of hell legit

Monroe has to fight Hell to save her family & she really does it. Lilith doesn't play around. And while it is obvious that Luther cares for Monroe & is willing to do a lot for her, he isn't willing to compromise his morals of "power above everything". I appreciate that the bad guys like being bad & aren't brooding about being misunderstood but for the love of a good virginal teenage girl ;-)

This is a hard fought story with real stakes. Nice work.
