Natasha is a successful young woman who works for one of Atlanta’s most prosperous marketing firms, Emerson & Stuckey. Sloan Stevens is an ambitious young man working his way up the corporate ladder in the same firm. Friends since third grade, Natasha and Sloan contend that they're just friends, although the people closest to them suspect that they secretly harbor feelings for each other that run deeper than mere friendship. They are determined to prove that their suspicions are false by finding true loves of their own. After leaving a string of unsuccessful relationships in their wake, the opportunity for true love for each of them presents itself in the form of two new coworkers, Essence Kirkland and Derrick Perkins. But when Essence and Derrick turn up the heat in each of the relationships, things threaten to boil over and turn true friends into enemies. Will the pursuit of happiness be a recipe for true love between friends, or a poisoned dish that will cost one of them their very life?
I really enjoyed this read, it let you know when you find love go after it and don't wait around second guessing yourself or you may lose the love of your life to a crazy person like Essence.
In these times, words have different meanings than what they used to have. You can not use certain words with everyone because everyone is not deserving of the pure definition. Take the word friend, it used to mean something if you were called a friend. It meant that another person trusted you enough to consider you like you were a part of their family. With the way that society is now with everyone for themselves, the word friend is thrown around so loosely that you might as well be a stranger. For that very reason, you have to choose your words and friends wisely or you might just end up with someone who you would consider an enemy rather than a friend.
Natasha is a beautiful, single, successful woman. She should be every man's dream but she seems to be striking out in the love department. Just when she feels all hope is lost she meets Derrick Perkins. He is a smooth brotha, easy on the eyes and Natasha is very attracted to Derrick. Things look like they are going good between Natasha and Derrick. Could Derrick be the one for Natasha? Will this be her forever guy or is he going to be another one that got away?
Sloan is a very successful Marketing Director at Emerson & Stuckey. He has worked there for years and his future is looking very bright. Sloan just happens to works in the same office as Natasha. Sloan and Natasha are best friends, have been since childhood. They tell each other everything. Sloan is protective over Natasha like she is over him and they will be friends to the end. When Essence starts working there with them she takes a liking to Sloan. Will this bring Sloan back to life or will he revert back to his old ways? Is it possible to find love with Essence or will he just be alone?
Freinemies is a novel about love and trust. The characters blend so well together that you are engrossed in the book from the first page. They make you want to grab and shake some of the characters and some you want to give a hug to. De Coster captures you from early on in the novel and keeps you there until the end wishing and wanting to know more. I look forward to reading more from this author. Congratulations Janie on another successful novel!

Well this was a good book it took them look enough to figure out they were in love or maybe they just didn't want to see it. However this was a good book flowed great I just hated the ending we all know the the cougar is crazy it should have ended when she hurt one of them, but whatever good book just hated the ending.
Unfortunately, the way the writer wrote this book, Sloan had more chemistry with everyone else other than Natasha. Natasha came across as neurotic, cold and mean. I did not like her at all. The way she treated everyone was horrible. Sloan still seemed attracted to Essence. So overall, it just didn’t do it for me.
