Number One for Fiendish Fun!This book contains a TERRIFYING nightmare, a demon dinner lady, a mother's day disaster and a CRAZY cat!Four utterly hilarious and totally brilliant Horrid Henry stories by Francesca Simon, with illustrations by Tony Ross. An irresistible introduction to reading for pleasure.
Francesca Simon grew up in California and attended both Yale and Oxford Universities, where she specialised in Medieval Studies. How this prepared her to write children’s books she cannot imagine, but it did give her a thorough grounding in alliteration.
She then threw away a lucrative career as a medievalist and worked as a freelance journalist, writing for the Sunday Times, Guardian, Mail on Sunday, Telegraph, and Vogue (US). After her son Joshua was born in 1989, she started writing children’s books full time. One of the UK’s best-selling children’s writers, Francesca has published over 50 books, including the immensely popular HORRID HENRY series, which has now sold over twelve million copies.
Francesca won the Children’s Book of the Year in 2008 at the British Book Awards for Horrid Henry and the Abominable Snowman. HORRID HENRY is published in 24 countries and is also an animated CITV series. She lives in London with her husband, son, and Tibetan Spaniel, Shanti.
I remember reading many Horrid Henry books when I was a child. I loved reading this one as much as I remember loving the others. Francesca Simon and Tony Ross collaborate and make humorous stories with laughter-inducing images that kept me entertained no matter my age.
i think horrid Henry's nightmare is mainly set for primary school kids as you would not really see this book in the library at high school. Even though i am in year 8 i decided to read this book as i needed to complete my challenge but until you start to read this book you realise how good it actually i mean come on you must have watched at least one horrid Henry but i have to admit the books seem alot better as you can imagine it.
This Horrid Henry book has 4 story's - Horrid Henry's Nightmare - Horrid Henry and the Revenge of the Demon Dinner Lady - Fluffy Struts Her Stuff - Horrid Henry's Mothers Day Great bed time stories, not too long.
I loved the book. It was really good and interesting. Francesca Simon is a really nice writer with fantastic imagination power. I predict it almost took three months to write this book.
I also liked the pictures that Tony ross drew. If anyone is reading my review, I recommend to read this book.
Bunnies carrying injections are the worst! Glad to see Fluffy (the cat) finally shine and snore! Demon Diner lady loses again but Hennry's illegal chocolate buisness going down was sad! I feel bad for Mom.Being bathed in cerals, orange juice and runny eggs, first thing on the Mother's Day morning! Not anyone's idea of fun.

Henry wins some situations and loses others. He lacks support in his life and only gets criticism. I wonder if he ever gets the support he needs in the series. I should read more of them to find out.
I liked Horrid Henrys Nightmare by Francesca Simon. It was good but not the best book. My favourite character was Horrid Henry. I liked the story but I think they could of added more to the ending. I'd like to see it on the TV show. I am only 7 years old I hope you liked my review bye.😁
I remember horrid Henry books being my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! They are perfect for both reading out loud and silently and also perfect for both younger and older audiences. Great book never gets boring. Reread a ton!!
