Breathe Again

Rate this book
For Savannah Rae, the thought of living in her picture-perfect world was almost too much to comprehend. With her dream job, a family she could finally call her own, and the beginnings of the best chapter of her life, she still couldn't shake the unnerving feeling that it was all too good to be true.

The thought of a life without Savannah was incomprehensible to Tate Connors. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would find his girl in the form of a sassy, stubborn, beautiful Australian. Finally he had the girl and life he so desperately wanted, but he still couldn't ignore the fear that it would crash around him.

When Tate’s past becomes his present and Savannah’s present becomes her past, the possibility of a future together collides head-on with reality.

In her darkest days, the words Just Breathe provided a peaceful comfort to Savannah from the heavens above. Now as she and Tate go down the path of new beginnings, brutal endings, and the constant craving of a happily ever after, they are anxious to learn how to Breathe Again.

This is the third and final instalment in the Breathe series and it is the perfect ending to Tate and Sav’s story. Along with their relationship growing from book to book, Rachel’s writing has also gone from strength to strength too. Since book one, Rachel has grown as an author and each book captivates into the lives of not just Tate and Sav, but all the characters along the way too. She has a way with her writing that drags you in and you keep turning the pages until you have read the last sentence and think “what do I do now?”

We have been through thick and thin with Tate and Sav. We have watched them face their pasts, their demons. Watched them grow together and separately throughout the series and we watch all the drama unfold only to be put back together again and overcome with the happy ending that they both deserve.

There are certain parts of the book which had me shaking my head at and although I want to write about them, I’m not going to as they are kinda spoilery. I will say that both Sav and Tate were in the wrong, and if they both just pulled their heads out of their ass then none of the problems would have happened in the first place. It was stupid and the solution to this was pretty damn simple in my eyes. If that had happened to me, I would have dropped everything and gone (You’ll understand when you read it/if you have already read it) and then none of the shit would have been happening. But then it is Tate and Sav and they always do things the hard way.

Sav is still the spunky, fiery women we all know and love, but we also know just how deeply in love she is with Tate. There relationship has its up and downs but you know that whatever happens they will find their way back to one another soon or later. With that ending with Breathless, I was with baited breath as to what was going to happen in Breathe Again. Sav is a stubborn mule and we all know she has flick you off with a finger and ignore you. But then Sav and Tate were never drama free and you expect something from them. But then you see their relationship flourish and you see them happier than ever, finally putting all the shit behind them. I loved a happy Sav – she has grown up so much over the course of the book, it was nice for her to find love, to have this family and people she could rely on.

But as I’ve said, drama follows closely and you see insecurities, her fears and her fear of her past being relived. It tore your heart to watch this from Sav (and the same for Tate too!). It is a difficult journey but one you know she has to take to get where she does at the end. Everything she has been through only makes her stronger and it was the prefect conclusion to this series.

After the ending of Breathless, you completely feel for Tate. And if we know anything about Tate we know he’s stubborn but also determined. He will do whatever he can to win back Sav but we also know Sav is stubborn too and this makes it difficult on both of them. But then I loved that it wasn’t all ‘I forgive you’, Sav made him grovel and in the end she couldn’t resist anymore. It makes it more real.

We see Tate so happy but then his past is still haunting him, especially his father and we see that take over him, make him insecure, angry, hurt but with Sav he can get through it all. He is still the sexy, arrogant, dirty talking guy we all love, but we know there are many layers to him and we see all of them at some stage. As I’ve said, all is happy and then we hit part two and everything they have fought for comes crashing down. We see Tate depressed, annoyed, angry and hurt. We see him over-thinking things, questioning himself and Sav and you just want them to get it straight. To communicate and as I’ve said, this is the part which annoyed the hell out of me. It was a simple solution as to what to do, yet neither of them did. Tate could have easier left and go Sav but he didn’t. I didn’t really understand him when Sav came back but I suppose that is Tate and he’s been hurting and confused.

But when they do get their shit together, Tate is getting over the past, and we see him gleaming, so much happier and stronger and you know that he and Sav are the real deal and they can finally breathe again together – as a family!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series, enjoyed watching everyone grow up, bond and have such a special love for on another. To see the end of this story is pretty damn sad but I am loving the fact that Blake is going to get his own book. I love that guy! Let’s hope Rachel will decide to write one for Mr. Davenport ;) YUMMMMMM.

A beautiful conclusion to a wonderful series!! Rachel, you nailed it!!!! I absolutely LOVED Just Breathe and Breathless, but Breathe Again definitely became my favorite book out of the three. There aren't enough words that can express how much it means to me. It was truly the most wonderful experience seeing Tate and Sav come full circle and get the life they both deserved. Their story was honestly a rollercoaster ride I did not want to get off from.

The books in The Breathe Series MUST be read in order, so if you haven’t read the first two installments, STOP reading here.
“Savannah, I never knew perfection until I met you.”

Things in Breathe Again start off a couple of months after that cliffhanger ending in Breathless. We have a heartbroken Tate trying to keep his life together while missing the one person that completes him…Savannah Rae. To say things are emotional in this book, would be putting it mildly. Sav and Tate don’t have it easy, but in reality, every heartache is worth it. They learn and grow from each experience. They become even stronger.
“Let me pick up your broken pieces, Tate. Let me make you whole again.”

There are quite a few surprises along the way and Tate and Sav’s relationship is tested…a lot. Prepare yourself for one hell of a ride because both Tate and Savannah are forced, in ways, to make very difficult decisions…… And just when things are finally good between them, Rachel pulls the rug from under us!
"You own my heart, Sav. It's yours to break."

There were times in this book where I wanted to hit someone -- hard -- and others that seriously made my heart race and palms sweat. The things that happen…… Sigh. Hell, I was basically about to have a total freak out at times. Gosh! This. Book. I’m telling you, Rachel nailed it!!! It’s written very well and has such a smooth and realistic flow, that it’s as if I was right there with Tate and Sav and the rest of the gang. I felt everything……lived it. I absolutely LOVE these characters. They will always hold a special place in my heart.

Overall, Breathe Again is a phenomenal book! Can’t stress this enough. It's got angst, hot and steamy passionate scenes, and a lot of page turning events! It has everything. If you loved Tate Connors before, he will melt your heart completely this time around. I highly recommend this book to everyone that loves a good romance!! I am incredibly proud to call such a talented author my friend.
“Just you and me, Sav. Just us.”

I received a copy of Breathe Again in return for an honest review. My reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

The continuation of Sav and Tate’s story starts off with Sav coming back to LA and having to deal with the Chelsea-Gate conundrum and finally listening to Tate and realising that her life is meant to be with him. But is that life going to be plain sailing from now on? Oh no of course not! We’ve not got rid of Chelsea yet and then there’s Tate’s father and then there’s everything thrown into another tailspin of lies and deceit.

Then Sav finally becomes a mum and oh my Lord above did I or did I not bawl my eyes out! Of course I did. How Rachel wrote those scenes was just perfect, so very touching and so very beautiful. I am a sucker for a birth and I felt I was in that room with all of them enjoying the proudness of the moment.

Then we hit Part Two…… Just by seeing those two words I knew I was about to consumed by pages of turbulence and boy was I right! What happens and takes Sav away and then subsequently what happens back in LA is there nothing that woman won’t do to mess with them all! And by that woman I think you know who I mean! But it isn’t just ‘her’ there’s deeply hurt feeling running amok and now I am going to be brutally honest, I was totally fine and loving Sav and Tate until Australia happened, how they then subsequently dealt with each other wound me up. I couldn’t believe what he was saying and I couldn’t believe what Sav was saying this was just messed up for me. Don’t get me wrong I was still invested but I absolutely 100% wanted to bang their heads together and scream and shout to ‘FFS’ get with the program and get it together!

Then that ending, sigh, my inner romantic was doing a complete dancing jig to that ending, especially where ‘the question’ happened, (massive wink) and this all brought about a beaming happy smile to me and a fully sated romantic sigh.

A gifted copy was provided by author for an honest review.

This is the second full length novel in the Breathe Series but there is a novella between book one and two that must be read to read the third book, so this is really the third book in the series. I'm going to be totally honest and say that I found this book to be average. Nothing special in my opinion, but not a god awful read that you can't get past the 10% mark.

Australian born Savannah Rae is pregnant and finally coming home from her extended work stay in New York to finally build her home in Los Angeles. She's still separated from her boyfriend or now ex-boyfriend Tate Connors. Tate wants Savannah back, but Savannah doesn't know if she can trust herself and Tate this time around. This book moves us along over the course of a few years.

Overall, I found that I couldn't really relate to the characters. Savannah is an all around immature person, and from book one I didn't like her all that much. Tate, I felt bad for. He wants Savannah more than life, and she just doesn't see it or maybe she takes advantage of it. And when things go bad, she becomes a total bitch. The writing was done well, so I'm giving this book 3 STARS out of 3 STARS.

The perfect conclusion!

I was really blown away by this book. Seeing Tate and Sav go through SO much and then overcome so many obstacles was really important to the development of these characters. I didn't think Tate and Sav could have their happy ending until they were able to work through all of their issues and learn to really trust in one another 100%. We see them really take the first step towards doing that in the first book Just Breathe, but they still have their hesitations and fears.

Here, we really see them grow not only as a couple but as individuals. Life is not perfect and it will get in the way and it does for Tate and Sav and they both have to make some pretty difficult decisions here.

We have a new addition in this book that I just absolutely adored! I could not get enough of this particular character! :)

Tanzi, Blake, Jack, and Mr. D are all back and I have to say Rachel has created such a wonderful cast of side characters. I hate when those characters get overlooked because they can really give a plot more substance! Tate and Sav wouldn't be where they are now without the love and support of their friends and I'm really glad they remained such an integral part of this novel.

I am sad to let Tate and Sav go, but I have loved being a part of their journey from two broken character with heavy emotional baggage to two independent, strong individuals who will fight for what they love and believe in and not let the outside world tear them down or make them doubt what they know is real.

* I received an ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review. *
From the first book in the series to the last you will root for Sav and Tate the whole time, you just can't help but want to see it work for them! I honestly wasn't sure where the story was going, it was so unpredictable, and I honestly didn't know until the very end if there was even going to be a Sav & Tate or if they just couldn't make it work no matter how much they loved each other. There were times I wanted to throw the book (well kindle), times I was almost crying with the characters and times when I was just laughing out loud. The writer has evolved almost as much as her characters throughout this series and I love it! I love the way the characters are all there for each other, the angst of them, the joy they bring each other and of course the swoon worthy day dreams involving the "Tate Conners Effect". The story pieced together 6 people (main characters) who all had a backstory and made them into a family. It gave hope to those out there that blood doesn't make a family, that love, perseverance, encouragement and friendship create a family. The flow of the story was great, it was well written and you felt like you stepped into the California cities right along with them. The details were amazing and it made you actually feel as if you were there. I can't wait to read another book by this author, as she has made her way onto my list of favorites! Make sure you read this series, as it is one that cannot be missed, it is just that amazing!!

My oh my. Tate Connors. Happy sigh. Sad sigh. ARGHHHH what am I going to do without Tate, Sav, Tanzi, Jack and Mr D!

Rachel gave the perfect conclusion to the already epic story!!!

Tate Connors has been in my top 3 book boyfriends for a very long time but now he has solidified his place there.

Rachel has improved with each book in this series with her writing style and I loved where she took this book. When I started reading I thought right come on they have to get there happy ending, but lets just be realistic got a moment, no1s life is the perfect happy ever after and that's what I love about Rachel and the way she writes. Nothing is perfect. There will always be something in the background.

Chelsea for one.
Tate & Tanzis father second, and what secret is he hiding? Something Tate will not take to kindly to I'm sure!

Buy. Read. And salivate over Tate Connors!!! You won't regret it!!!

Can I give this book more than 5 stars???
You HAVE to read this!!!
Ok, so I loved the first 2 books in this series (Just Breathe, and Breathless), but, this book was my favourite of the 3. Rachel Brookes is one very talented author! She had me go through so many emotions in this book, I laughed, cried, screamed at the characters, and cried some more. Oh, did I mention Tate Connors? You will be falling more in love with Tate in this book, (if that's possible), that man is my idea of perfect! The rest of the gang are all featured again, as well as some new characters, and we learn what fate has in store for all of them.
You will not be left wondering in this final instalment, 'Breathe Again'. Rachel has written an amazing series, and I can't wait to see what's next for her....... I'll be watching closely.

Wow just wow. I loved thus book so much. At the start of the book Tate and Sav are still In different parts of the country separated by Chelsea's lies. When she finally comes home they have to pick up the pieces and decide how they move forward. The second half of the book is them settling Into their life with a child, when tragedy strikes. Once again they are separated and Tate's not sure if they can survive this time. I'd love Mr B to have a book.

Too much. Should have stopped st the first book

I didnt like the turmoil. Unrealistic. The first book should have been enough and the potential to
be better, although the story was there.

****I received a copy in exchange for an honest review*****

I’m a big fan of the Breathe series, and I have a special place in my heart for Sav and Tate, and I was looking forward to reading the final instrument in the series. I was luckily enough to get a sneak peak while it was WIP.

Breath Again pick up after Breathless ended were all was not good with Sav and Tate as the one who we all hate and would love to punch Chelsea had managing to put a wedge between them. Tate is now back in LA he wants to make Sav see and knows the truth, not to give up on their love, their family, and future. Sav is finally coming home after her extended stay in New York, but their stubborn side means that they haven’t spoken, but this couldn’t last for long, and with the help of Mr. Davenport these two finally come face to face they have to talk, they have decisions to make about what they really want.

“I’d fight for her. I’d fright the fucked-up situation we found ourselves, and Id fight for the life that I deserved, that we deserved, that Jellybean deserved”

I loved the storyline. I was nervous from the first page, as I was desperate to know what was going to happen, and you soon realize that it wasn't going to be drama free. The story is told in two parts, and just when you think all is okay, stronger than ever happy with their life then something happens that test their relationship once more. My heart ached for them at times as fears, insecurities, and the past threaten their future.

“You need to go through the storm before you get to the rainbow”

Oh my word Sav and Tate were stubborn in this one and as much as I loved them, there were so many thing that I wanted to bang their heads together and knock some sense into them, however everything I have come to love about San and Tate and their relationship was still there, it’s fiery, intense, sexy, fun and passionate.

“There was absolutely no denying his love for me. His heart and soul were a on a platter for me, available for me and me only”

“What I was quickly learning was that the loved we sheared wasn’t like others. We had our own crazy, fucked- up way of loving, and finally. I was totally okay with it.’

Rachel Brookes doesn’t give you any easy ride with this one there is drama, angst, secrets are reveled, a few high five moments, humor and a twist or two. I was happy, sad, excited, anxious, and frustrated whilst reading it. It was safe to say I was on that emotional rollercoaster that I loved.

“That’s what we do. We pick up each other’s pieces when we break, and put them back together in our own special way"

Loved seeing Tanzi, Jack, Blake and Mr. Davenport again they have such support, friendship, and love for Sav and Tate. They’re always honest with them, even if they don’t want to hear it. Oh and there was one new character who was just too cute. I can’t wait to get Blake’s story, and maybe a novella for Jack and Tanzi, and another favorite couple of mine.

Overall I really loved Breathe Again. I had a bittersweet feeling as I swiped the last page as even though I'm going to miss them at the same time I couldn’t be happier with the way thing turned out for them, and with an wonderful romantic epilogue that Rachel wrote that left me grinning but also a little teary

Rachel has written a brilliant conclusion to Sav’s and Tate’s story. I loved that the series started on a letter and ended on a letter. Sav and Tate are sole mates, they weren’t perfect, but for each other they were. I have truly enjoyed being on their journey, and seeing how they have changed and overcome throughout the series. I’m so glad that they get the happy ever after that they so rightly deserves.

If you haven’t had the chance to read any of the books from the Breathe series then you must one- click today you wont be disappointed. I’m a big fan of Rachel’s love the way she writes, and the character that she creates, and I can’ wait to read her future books.

**A few more quotes**

“I’m a lot of things but a wannabe porn star fucking on a video is not one of them.”

“So I can punch her in the face?” “Let me check with our lawyers”

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Breathe Again is the third book in the Breathe Series by Australian author Rachel Brookes. This series centres around Tate Connors, confident, sexy and proud of his man whoring ways, he isn't after love or forever, and he's happy with that, owning and operating the bar Red Velvet, he is never short of offers for a good time, and Savannah Rae, young, smart, beautiful and with endless sex appeal that she knows how to work in her favour, she isn't looking for flowers and romance, she uses a string of one night stands to quell any feelings of loneliness. These characters are flawed, both have pasts that have left them broken, they are in every sense each others equal.

Breathe Again picks up a couple of months after Savannah was deceived into believing that Tate had returned to his manwhoring ways, and Tate was left picking up the pieces as his life crumbled around him. Tate has spent this time trying to give Sav the space she asked for but he is ready to fight, for the only woman he's ever wanted a future with, and is ready to be the kind of father he never had to his unborn child.

Tate and Sav's life never seems to go easy, there always seems to be something or someone waiting in the wings, ready and waiting to conspire against them, to destroy their happily ever after, and Breathe Again is certainly no different to Just Breathe and Breathless, in that everytime they find their perfect moment, that happiness they've both fought so hard to find, the rug is pulled out from underneath them.

Rachel Brookes not only creates hero's like Tate and Savannah that you love, hero's you cheer for, but a cast of supporting characters that not only help to fill out their story but enrich it, blending seamlessly to create the kind of family that you want to be part of.
Tanzi's inappropriate comments about Simon Davenport, Jack's unwavering support of Tate and Savannah, Davenport, for his absolute love for his little girl, despite being fiercely loyal and protective of Savannah he is the first one to call her out when she needs it. Supporting characters like Lucas and Blake bring greater depth to their story.

What I loved so much about Breathe Again is that Brookes writing can have you laughing out loud one moment and crying the next, she manages to draw you in effortlessly, when your hanging onto every word, praying that everything will be alright, she makes you feel like your reading someone's diary, hearing their inner most thoughts, and in the next moment you feel like your watching a movie in your mind, watching these characters, that you love like family, come to life in front of your eyes. Breathe Again for me was the perfect blend of drama and angst, of absolute hilarity, of tear jerking and heart wrenching moments that stole your breath. Breathe Again reminded me why I love to read. Brookes leaves you feeling like Tate and Savannah are in a good place, like they have found the other half of themselves and that after a life filled with despair and at times self loathing that they have finally come full circle.

Congratulations Rachel Brookes on a stunning conclusion to Tate and Sav's story, you truly have done these characters that I adore so much justice.

*I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Where to start with this review? I'm going to make this brief and to the point since I don't want to spoil too much! Warning - if you HAVE NOT read the first two installments in this series then I recommend you turning away NOW!

Tate and Sav have a special place in my heart. They are two of the most passionate, wild, and stubborn characters I have ever come across. When I read Just Breathe a year ago, I was sucked in to their world and impressed with how real Tate and Savannah were. I'm sad that this was the final book in the series (but I'm seriously crossing my fingers for a possible Blake spin-off, please?) but I really enjoyed the ride from start to finish.

This book (much to my surprise and excitement!) was split into two parts. The first part finds Savannah returning to L.A. after an extended stay in New York City. Pregnant and heartbroken, Sav must decide whether she is willing to give Tate her heart again. Tate and Savannah must both deal with their insecurities and fears regarding their impending parenthood, as well.

Rachel Brookes has a real talent for writing an emotional and captivating story. I found myself laughing, crying, and feeling anger so potent someone might have thought I was experiencing the events firsthand. Her ability to not only write strong main characters but also a cast of extremely important and three-dimensional secondary characters is what makes this series so powerful. I LOVE Jack, Tanzi, Mr, Davenport, Blake, and little Max SO much! They aren't just filler characters but feel real and important to the story. I was also impressed the Brookes tackled what comes after the baby is born. Pregnancy has become a popular theme in NA novels but usually it ends badly or the baby isn't born until after the last book concludes. Not only did Savannah and Tate have to learn to deal with their relationship but also how to be parents. It was also nice to see that Max was a fleshed out character and not just the baby in the background.

My only complaint was that while I felt Tate really grew up in the second half of the book, Sav seemed to regress for the better part of it. I know it was important for the story-line but I was a bit disappointed that she lost some of the fire that made her who she was. This didn't take away from the story because I was rooting for Sav the entire time, I just wish she wasn't so stubborn in the first place! I was, however, impressed that overall Tate and Sav seemed to eventually find their way and grow as not only people but as parents, as well.I think this book offered a wonderful conclusion for Tate and Savannah and was a brilliant combination of angst, love, passion, despair, and shocking moments galore.

I have followed Tate and Sav's story from the beginning. They have proved never to disappoint. They have given me so much of their story that I actually feel protective of them. I'm sad that it's come to an end but Breathe Again has given me everything I could have asked from them and so much more. Some I was expecting and some not so much. I loved just about every minute of this book from the second I opened it to the last word I read in the book. If you thought that their story couldn't get any better, well Rachel certainly will prove you wrong. I believe that this book hit the nail on the head and cemented my love for them. Tate and Sav Forever!

Things were kind of left in a bad way for Tate and Sav at the end of Breathless. I imagine there were sad faces everywhere. Sav hasn't spoken to Tate since the whole Chelsea debacle. Sav has been in New York and has even extended her time there. It's time to face the music as they say. She and Tate are having a baby. They both need to make some big decisions in order to move forward. Thanks to Mr. D. they are finally forced into the same room. Tate is able to explain to Sav what the Chelsea thing was all about. Sav decides that Tate really does love her, and their family is everything to the both of them. They momentarily have a pretty great HEA. Then they don't. There are a lot of unresolved problems that they eventually face and their love is tested. There is some tragedy and my heart truly broke for this couple. I wanted so much for them. In the end we will find out if Tate and Sav truly get what they both deserve. The happiness they have craved since they met.

Following these two has been like watching your child grow up. I've watched them make mistakes and I've watched them make some real growth. They came together and found one another's hearts. I had no doubt the love they shared. It was obvious and I felt it while reading this book. Their love only grew stronger the longer they were together. These characters at times made me mad and their stubbornness could drive anyone insane. That worked for them because it even made them more intense. Both had quite the fight in them and I wouldn't change one thing about them.

This book was happy, sad, romantic, and had a good amount of the angst. It was an emotional read and I was so invested in this story that I had trouble putting it down. It is one of those stories that continues to stay with you for long after the end. A little gift that I never would have expected. I am looking forward to all of Rachel's future books and have become a fan for life.

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

The conclusion of Savannah and Tate story can be divided in to two big chapters. The first part of the book deals with the couple while they are separated by lies and living in opposites parts of the States. They are both hurting and are too stubborn to fix their relationship. Savannah's pregnancy is coming along the way without a major issue but she wishes Tate was with her.

The second part of the book moves forward in time. Once again Savannah and Tate are torn apart but now it's on different continents. Savannah must fly to Australia when tragedy strikes. Tate is unable to follow her due to his job
and old insecurities reappear and threaten their stability.
And can a bitter old lover break them apart?

“I don’t want you to see me break, Sav.” His voice broke under his words.
“That’s what we do. We pick up each other’s pieces when we break and put them back together in our own special way. Let me pick up your broken pieces, Tate. Let me make you whole again.”

This book made me feel so sad for Tate. He kept on trying to be a good guy and a good father.

“Savannah, I never knew perfection until I met you.”

Yet, things were always against him. Not only was he in a constant fight to keep Savannah but his dad does a number on him that I didn't see coming.

“You need to remember what’s important, Tate. Sometimes you need to move on from the past in order to see the future.”

I'm glad in the end everything worked fine for them and if anything the family becomes much stronger.
Also, I believe the secondary characters were super important to make this novel a success. When things were going south for this couple one of their friends or family will make them understand how right they were for each other.

“Sav, you need to go through the storm before you get your rainbow.”

Tanzi was always there for Tate and it was nice to see her own story progress too. I still love Mr Davenport and I love how he blushed when Tanzi was teasing him.
I do hope Blake gets his own story. After all he is the vocalist for The Fallen.

"You own my heart, Sav. It's yours to break."

5/5 Tate is ah-mah-zing hearts

How do two people who never thought they wanted to fall in love, or be in a relationship survive the hurdles, scandals, and exes, still think they could settle down and be happy? Hmmmm well let's find out. When I first started this series I was in awe. Awe of the author and her ability to write a story that folded me into the center of these characters lives. When I finished the first book I realized two things.
1. I indeed had become victim to the Tate Connors effect.
2. I needed more!

When Breathless was released I devoured that shizz. And I was upset, yes upset. Why you ask? Well I was left Breathless, and wondering how Tate and Sav would survive this. How would Tate get her back if she's so damn stubborn? Why did she just believe others and not give Tate a chance to explain!

Breathe Again takes us back into Savannah and Tate's world. We learn many things in this book and it was a doozy. My head was spinning with all the revelations.

Sav is still as feisty as ever and has her moments where I want to smack the crap out of her. Slowly she starts to mature and figure out what is important and what is not. She learns to bring down her walls, in doing so she is made stronger.

Tate *sigh* that man just WOW! While there are times he can be a bit needy, I get his love for Savannah. I appreciate the way he loves and cares for her. He will go to any lengths to show her what she means to him. I don't blame him for being upset at one point in the book. If I was him I would be upset too. I also saw Sav's side of it and why she did what she did. Didn't make it any easier but I loved that they could see their love and work through it all.

Mr. Davenport or GILF. I picture Dylan McDermott when I read this series. He's seriously hot for an older man. He makes me smile and has so much patience with Sav. He lets her make her mistakes and is always there for her. In this book I was sad and shed a few tears when things happen and he's in the center of it.

Tanzi oh Tanzi. She has a crazy name because she is a crazy chick. I love her as the best friend and sister. She is the perfect mixture of what every girl should have on her side. Sassy, sweet, loyal and a fighter. She always has both Sav and Tate's backs no matter what.

All in all this book has everything. Angst, passion, drama, and the ability to make me mad. The secondary characters really brought to life the world of Savannah and Tate to life. I never wanted to emerge from them. Damn you Rachel for making me have all these feels. Also thank you for writing such a great series and giving me closure to one of my favorite couples.

The perfect conclusion to a fantastic series

REVIEW:
The story:
In the final instalment in the series, Tate & Sav have many new challenges to face in their relationship. With Sav pregnant and Tate fearful of being a bad father, Tate struggles to believe he'll be any different to his own dad. I really don't want to give any spoilers about this story, because there were so many wonderful and tragic surprises along the way, that to tell you them would just ruin the experience of discovering everything yourself. There where many ups and downs all leading up to a dramatic and oh so satisfying conclusion!

The characters:
Tate and Sav are as stubborn as ever and just don't seem to realise how alike they actually are. When things get tough they just seem to make things even harder for themselves. But this is exactly what makes them so loveable! In the end it's the stubbornness that prevents either of them from giving up of each other.

It was also great to see the secondary characters getting plenty of screen time with Jack, Tanzi & Lucas all back. And I absolutely adored the pivotal roles that Mr Davenport and the sexy Blake played. I want more of Blake!

The romance:
The romance was filled with angst, which created some fabulously sexual tension. It's clear that they both love one another, but with so many obstacles for them to overcome, they struggled to deal with everything. Communication broke down, and issues that could have been solved so easily become massive hurdles in their relationship. I felt their relationship was very realistic in this way. What I loved was that they never gave up and always believed they would find a way back to each other.

The Writing:
Rachel's books are always filled with a great mix of sexy and funny scenes. I can't tell you number I times I was laughing one minute and tearing up the next! This was one amazing roller coaster rise of emotions!

FINAL WORD:
The final book in a series is always bittersweet. I'm so happy with how this story played out, but I'm sad to say goodbye to these wonderful characters! Breathe Again was the perfect conclusion to a fantastic series! And I am looking forward to the possibility of some companion novels!

CONTENT:
Sexuality: medium-strong / several descriptive sex scenes
Violence: mild / minor fights
Language: strong / frequent f words etc
Drugs & alcohol: mild / set in bar

I was given a ARC copy in exchange for an honest review:)

"There will moments in life that will leave you Breathless until you learn to Breathe Again"

This was a perfect ending to an amazing series! The Tate Connors Effect strikes again and it's explosive!!

Just like the first two installments of The Breathe Series, I was immediately hooked from the start.

"I would never truly be Savannah if I didn't have Tate."

Sav and Tate's story isn't your typical love story and that's what I love about it. Love isn't easy. This final book takes you on an emotional ride of heartache, laughter, anger and a love like no other.

"Never again would I experience this kind of love with anyone but him and that's what terrified yet exhilarated me."

"You own my heart, Sav. It's yours to break."

AHHHH! I loved this book so much! Once you thought everything was going good, another curve ball would be thrown at you. The way that Rachel weaved through everything was amazing! I loved that all the secondary characters were back and better than ever! Except for Chelsea. She can just go far, far away;)
Tanzi and Jack are just as wonderful as ever. I just love Jack and his one liners! Too funny! Lucas is still the great best friend and Blake, oh Blake. I think I truly fell in love with him! Mr. Davenport is one of those men you would be proud to call your father.

""Sav, you need to go through the storm before you get your rainbow." Mr. Davenport's words stung my heart and hit home. I was one of the lucky ones. I had survived."

I also love the way that Rachel shows Sav and Tate's POVs. It was great to see their sides to the story. Their love is complicated, but it's theirs and that's what makes it so great. I'm a hopeless romantic and I believe that everyone deserves a happy life no matter what their past includes.

""I don't want you to see me break, Sav." His voice broke under his words.
"That's what we do, Tate. We pick up each other's pieces and put them back together in our own special way. Let me pick up your pieces, let me glue them back together, let me make you whole again."

"Savannah, I never knew perfection until I met you."

"You need to remember what's important, Tate. Sometimes you need to move on from the past in order to see the future."

"Just you and me , Sav, just us."

Thank you Rachel for writing this amazing series!!! It was truly an honor to read it!!
I recommend this book and series to everyone!!

From the beginning to the end of this series I have just absolutely loved these characters. Rachel has done a wonderful job finishing up this series, but Tate, Sav & Jellybean will forever be in my heart...

My heart breaks in the PROLOGUE

"That was my life now, the life I had been given because of a vindictive bitch named Chelsea. The life I was now living without Savannah."

The roller coaster ride of Tate & Sav was a beautiful one. They both are stubborn as hell but makes me love them so much more. Their journey finally came to and end and I was completely happy about how things ended. The meat in the middle took me all over with my emotions. I wanted to smack Savannah around a few times & yell at Tate you pansy go get your women.

I was an emotional mess towards the end, something that will rip your world to shreds happens & you just don't know if their relationship will survive the storm that is Tate & Sav, they seem to sabotage themselves quite well I might add. The addition to Jellybean brought a smile to my heart, Jellybean has the best of all worlds and is loved so deeply by all.

All relationships go through the ringer sometimes, but damn Tate & Sav had something or someone always against them. I am happy they were tough enough to with stand the trials of their romance. It was worth it, all of it in the end. Rachel is good at twists and turns, so just prepare yourself while reading this series, she is BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!

* SOME OF MY FAVORITE LINES FROM THE BOOK *

"But the girl in questions wasn't just any girl. She was my girl."

"The stubborn as fuck, sexy as sin, and sweet as candy Savannah Rae. My Girl."

"The face I had been dreaming about, the body I craved, and the heart I wanted to save was coming back to Los Angeles in two weeks and she had no clue I knew."

"Chelsea had been long gone, but her path of destruction had been far from over. She'd had one goal in mind and she'd gotten exactly what she's wanted. Her pitiful and hateful desire to drive a wedge of mistrust between Tate and me had exploded around us."

"My eyes grew wide as they traveled down the length of my body and focused solely on the soccer ball that had decided to attach itself to the front of me and the impressive set of boobs that had taken ownership of my chest."

"Sav, you need to go through the storm before you get your rainbow." "Mr. Davenport's words stung my heart and hit home. I was one of the lucky ones. I had survived."

Wow… what a bunch of “Drama Mamas!” and yep, that doesn’t just include the women. I really wanted to fall in love with the relationship between Tate and Sav… and even though I did like them as individuals…it’s just that the way they behaved towards each other and how they handled themselves seemed more like what you’d expect from a high school boyfriend/girlfriend relationship than that of two mature adults. Ok, I understand and even expect conflict to appear in romance novels…it’s just part & parcel for the genre, but when the two main love interest characters are constantly having such deep and soul-sharing interactions with their “purest & truest” love…it just doesn’t mesh with the almost “mountain from a molehill” seemingly contrived & mostly preventable problems they seem to keep stumbling into. That being said, this is the 3rd and I’m assuming last book to this series with the two main characters, Tate & Sav, being the focus of all three; so, I’m guessing that the author just wanted to throw everything at these characters prior to allowing them their HEA and end the series on a bang. Unfortunately, for me, it just seemed as if I was reading about two different couples from the 1st & 2nd book to the 3rd, almost like watching a TV series, connecting with the two actors that portray the main couple, then suddenly, the original actors are gone and two different actors are playing the characters. It’s not necessarily a bad thing…just different.

Overall, I did enjoy the story and felt a sense of closure for Tate & Sav when I finished the book. I also enjoyed the other characters in the book as well and especially that Tate was able to finally find some resolution with his Father. The one thing that I’m still kinda scratching my head over is how things ended with Chelsea... it just seem a bit implausible for her to have gone to such lengths and with such persistence in her attempts to break-up Tate & Sav, to just walk away like she had some great epiphany to her “evil ways” and agree to everything Tate and Sav had been wanting from her. Well, maybe that was for the best… goodness knows that I don’t think Tate & Sav’s relationship could have withstood another onslaught from Chelsea.

Please understand, it’s not that I didn’t like this book, I just enjoyed the 1st & 2nd books so much more. It just seemed that Tate & Sav lost something in their relationship from then til now…

As the final chapter in Tate and Sav's love story, Breathe Again was an overall success. It had the romance, the angst and the happily ever after. However, some of the things in the second half of the book disappointed me, especially after reading Breathless .

In the previous installment, Tate and Sav had come a long way in their relationship. Although that installment ended on a sad note, with the first half of Breathe Again the author didn't waste any time in bringing forth the connection that Tate and Sav shared. As I was reading the first few chapters I found myself thinking 'Finally, they got their crap together!"

They had worked most of their issues out, shared the birth of their baby (lovely!) and continued to love and tease each other while dealing with the different obstacles that were thrown at them. I thought they had made huge strides in their relationship and when tragedy struck I thought that this time around they would have been more than ready to deal with it in a mature and understanding manner.

This is where it started going downhill for me. I like my angst and my characters to struggle with their feelings--for me it makes their story much more believable. But somehow Tate just got on my nerves. The whining, the ultimatums, the attitude--it was just too much.

Thankfully, this only happened towards the fourth quarter of the book. I don't think I would have been able to continue reading otherwise. I had already invested myself in the outcome of their story and was enjoying Mr. D and Max too much to have to stop then.

That little hiccup aside, I think that Rachel Brookes brought it all together rather well. Questions were answered, relationships were mended and new ones developed with emotions galore, humor and some steamy moments thrown into the mix to make Breathe Again a great conclusion to Tate and Savannah's journey to happiness.

I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I fell in love with this series and its main characters, Tate and Sav. I am now heartbroken now that the series has ended. But what a magnificent ride it has been. Rachel Brookes has brought to life these incredible characters that you can’t help but love and adore. In this finale to the series, Tate and Sav have everything that they could ever want: love and a family. Their lives are the living embodiment of bliss but both live under the constant fear of losing the other. When problems arise, will their love be enough to get them through?

This series is perfection. Absolute perfection. Rachel’s voice has become stronger, lovelier and more concise as this series has progressed. Her words draw you into the story and do not let you go. I became so wrapped up in Breathe Again that it became nearly impossible to put it down. These characters will play with your emotions. I was a hot mess of laughter, tears and love throughout this book. Tate is beyond hunk-a-licious. He could alternate between adorable, sexy and maddening, but so lovable. Sav is one strong, opinionated but not afraid to show her emotions and stand up to Tate. I love the fact that she stands up for herself but also has an air of innocence about her. Tate and Sav are one of my all time book couples. They are sweet, sexy, and lovable.

Now to what I didn’t like- CHELSEA. Ugh. If I never have to read about her again , it will be too soon. It literally hurt my heart to have to watch and see if Tate and Sav could move on from her lies. I was beyond tense while waiting to see if this amazing couple would finally get their happy ending. Speaking of the ending…it was perfect. There was no other way that I would have wanted this series to end. Kudos to Rachel Brookes. Her writing had me addicted to the very last word. This series is addictive, emotional, intense, dramatic, sexy, and fun. As sad as I am that it had to end, I am so beyond honored that I was given the opportunity to read these exceptional books.

5 out of 5 stars to every book in the series.
