This special limited time edition, at a special price, contains the four novellas from The Auction collection, including “Sold,” “Bought,” “Claimed,” and “Taken.” Beautiful women and sexy men find themselves on the auction block at an exclusive charity auction that has some discreet BDSM club participants.
this one was ok, but it could have been done so much better. I wanted more variation in the stories. I wanted more for the Domme, who ended up just being a bratty sub who wanted a man "strong enough" to top her. So basically it ended up being 4 stories with the same plot.
Currently reading. A Charity auction (where willing people are the prize) is the impetus for 4 interwoven novellas. First up:
"Sold" Christie and Zach: Christie runs into Zach. She ran away from him 8 years ago when she discovered his interest in BDSM and she's regretted it ever since. It's a bit flat: No intense emotions. They are supposedly unable to forget each other after 8 years but they calmly reminisce like long lost cousins at a family reunion. No passion at all. Christie's ready to wade into the BDSM world now so they head to his house. Their encounters read like a how-to manual. All the components are there but it just fell flat. You never really hear Zach's perspective and barely Christie's. Truthfully, some of seemed more humiliation than mutual pleasure.
"Bought" Roni and John: Roni meets three men she's interested in but is bought by John at the auction. Roni had a bubbly personality and John was dark and mysterious but there wasn't a lot of chemistry. On top of it, Roni was a bit of a Bimbo. She was stringing one guy along while seeing John. A serial killer side story is thrown in but it's so obvious who it is, it did nothing to advance the story. The sex is pretty much the same as "Sold".
"Claimed" Rick and Leslie: Funny enough, the one I assumed I would like the least. In this one, Leslie is the Domme and Rick is not actually involved in BDSM but he's open to it. The characters actually get to know each other before falling into bed. The story and romance was more realistic and the characters likable. My favorite so far.
"Taken" Nate and Kelley: This one was shorter. This was a likable couple, they got along great and had no conflict. No big excitement. Kelley met Nate a couple of years ago and was attracted but felt obligated to try again with ex when he wanted to. Now she's free and has put herself up for auction.
Overall 2 1/2 stars. I'm rounding up to 3 stars mainly because it was free and it wasn't terrible. The problem for me is it's supposed to be erotic romance. All the actions and words are there but it ended up being mostly tepid.
This was 4 short novellas brought together. I got this free on Amazon and I am quite glad that I did as its rather repetitive. If I'd had to pay for each of these I would have been disappointed. Yes I understand that they all start off at the same auction (or more descriptively swingers party disguised as a charity auction...) but I found the plots to all follow a similar pattern. 'Bought at Auction' - Man takes control (even in the case of Leslie who liked to be the Dom, very disappointed when this happened, could have been so interesting) - lots of sex (which I thought was very similar in each novella) - girl thinks she's falling for guy, something dramatic happens, boy and girl live happily ever after.
The first story was okay, the second story was good, the third story was very good, and the last didn't seem finished. I liked the concept of each story and the individuality of them as well but was disappointed there wasn't maybe a fifth to tie them together and wrap everything up. If you are into some hot bdsm book this is a nice short read with some great scenes but I was just wanting a little bit more. I liked it, it just isn't a book that is going to stand out to me but I could see where someone would really enjoy these stories. I will read other Jaymie Holland books.
Some one needs to get this author a Thesaurus! For a 4 book collection that is only 300 pages COMBINED she used the word love/loves/loved 198 TIMES and excited/exciting/excites 62 times. It reminds me of a kid in Elementry School trying to write a story with their limited vocabulary and spelling list. They over use the word "very" because they don't know any better.
The stories where good and she obviously did her research on the BDSM but the repetitiveness of the vocabulary killed it for me.
It is so nice to get to some of these "to be read" stories that have been languishing on my reader forever. How I didn't get to this one sooner is a crime but it will go on my need to read again list. I love this author, no matter what name is on the story. This collection was some hot bed time reading leading to some very pleasant dreams.
These four short stories were hot and heavy. Each had a hint of action, a nice story, a touch of romance, and a lot of spice. I would recommend this for those interested in the more erotic side of sex.
This book was great! My only wish is that these were full length stories instead of quickies. They were hot and sexy. I would read this book again when I want something quick, dominate, sexy, and have a little action too. Jamie Holland is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.
several short and intense reads. overall a great collection of BDSM rich erotics stories with some fun characters and typically great writing. Worth every penny
A bit of fun from a kinky auction. There are 4 slightly interconnected stories in this edition, the last one is very short. I light read with happy endings where everyone gets what they want.
Theses stories are steamy bday books .at a auction for charity for battered women this men and women find their fantasy and the love of their lives. Great story's.
