Lincoln Peirce is a cartoon artist from Portland, Maine. He lives with his wife and two children, and occasionally gives lectures to students about cartoon creating. Peirce writes the comic strip "Big Nate". Peirce's comic strip, Big Nate, is featured as an island on the famous children's website, Poptropica. Big Nate appears as the first cartoon on The Maine Sunday Telegram in the comics section.

He studied art at Colby College in Maine were he began cartooning. He also studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture before teaching art and coaching basketball at a New York highschool for 3 years. He currently plays hockey with "an old men's league" and describes it as his best sport as a child. In an interview with the Washington Post, Peirce stated that his last name is pronounced "purse" and is not a misspelling of "pierce."

Lincoln Peirce was a member of the "Surviving as a Print Cartoonist" Panel at the Maine Comics Art Festival with fellow cartoonists Corey Pandolph (Barkeater Lake, Toby: Robot Satan, The Elderberries), Norm Feuri (Retail, Gill) and with Mike Lynch moderating. On the panel Lincoln revealed he is currently working with some animation and licensing projects including the addition of a Big Nate island to the online game Poptropica.

This was another funny good book with Big Nate. The title Genius Mode is really sarcastic, because Big Nate is actually being a lunatic on almost every page.

Another fun entry in the series of collected newspaper strips. We've enjoyed how Peirce told a complete story in one week with the Sunday entry occasionally finishing out the tale. One note to fans of the other series. Nate is bit more dense than in those books and seems to be far more involved in Spitsy's daily life. It's kind of odd, but still funny; especially for kids.

Definitely recommended for fans of Big Nate and similar series such as The Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants.

I would recommend any Lincoln Pierce reader the book “Big Nate in the Zone.” In the beginning of the book Nate makes a bet with a seventh grader named Marcus. The bet was that in the new Fitness contest the sixth graders won’t win any of the races. A few days before the contest, Nate and his two friends Francis and Teddy had to play a song in a school assembly. Nate was the lead singer but he had stage fright and Francis had to sing instead but Francis had a very bad voice. At the assembly everyone laughed at them. A day before the fitness contest Nate went into the library and busted a bean bag chair by jumping from a table and landing on the bean bag chair. After Nate busted the bean bag chair he received detention. When the contest finally started the first race was on and the seventh graders won. That’s how it went for the whole contest until it was finally the last event and Chad (Nate's friend) was up and had to do the race called the three legged dog where 2 people are needed from each team and have to tie one of their two feet together to the other person’s foot. I’m not going to spoil the ending, but the book in my opinion was good because of all the twists and turns that were happening. Read the book to find out what happened at the end.

“Genius Mode” that's an over statement for Nate Wright. Nate is always getting in trouble at school and doesn't do any of his homework. He has two friends Francis and Teddy. As well he has the worst teacher ever, Mrs. Godfrey.

Big Nate “Genius Mode” is a funny book that will make you die in laughter every page. In many other books such as “Big Nate and friends”, and “Big Nate Payback Time” Nate is always causing trouble and having a detention every day.

Big Nate books are over 100 pages of hilarious events in Nate’s life that make you want to continue to read forever. I recommend this book for 3rd grade and up. There is some teenager humor in some books.

Lincoln Pierce is very funny. He is absolutely irresistible, if you are my 10-year-old son. He gets kids and kids love reading about characters who suffer the same indignities that they do, or that they imagine they do. Basically, if you're a parent, you don't want your kids to read this book because, if they don't already have an attitude, you're afraid they will develop one. If you're a kid, you're just happy to read a book with pictures that makes you laugh.

I used to read Big Nate pretty regularly, so when my stepdaughter brought this one home from the library, I couldn't resist picking it up. Peirce has an impressive feel for the rhythms of middle-school life, and I enjoyed the time I spent with this book.

This graphic novel is excellent (5/5) because the comedy is on top, and Nate finally has an below average IQ (rarely) and his friend just make fun of him whenever he does something stupid. It also contains a big chuck of comic strips from the newpaper that were back in the old days. Cool book

It is a little bit inappropriate for kids under 8 years. However, I liked that it is funny.

It was decent, not the best one in the series. Still, I haven't read much of the series so far.
