A New Start is a compilation of two stories: "Christmas in King's Gap" and "Home for Christmas". A New Start is a heartwarming tale of forgiveness, love and togetherness; stories about starting afresh, making amends and being with those you love during the holidays.
Christmas in King's Gap: Jessica left the small town of King's Gap many years ago and vowed never to return, but a bad marriage and the fear of her ex-husband was enough motivation for her. With guilt and regret she moved into the house her mother left her when she died. Strange events started happening the day Jessica returned to King's Gap.
Home for Christmas: Sarah left her family home to marry a man she thought loved her. She ignored her parents’ pleas and left the peace and security of small town life behind her, but she made a mistake. He didn’t love her, nor did he care about the kids that they raised together. He abused her, abused them, and now Sarah has no choice but to leave him and head back home, back to the peace, the security and the uncertainty. What will her parents think? Will they still accept her? Sarah arrives just before Christmas, landing on the doorstep of her former home and begging that her parents take her in. But she has been gone for a long time, things have changed, people have come and gone, and there are a few surprises in store for Sarah and her two children.
Morris Fenris loves to let his imagination paint pictures in a wide variety of genres. His current book list includes everything from Christian romance to an action-packed Western romance series, to inspirational and Christmas holiday romance.
Okay my favorite plot line of the story wasn’t even wrapped up??? Like we never saw the completion of it. I love that this story focused on a mother daughter relationship and mending it. However, this felt so sporadic and wrapped up so quickly, but it did not wrap up nicely.
This book has two books in one. The first book I give it a 3 star. The second book I give it a 2 star. I want to start this review by saying I don’t like two books in one. I feel like the author has to give less details in the book to split the book in half and I feel like I’m missing details and the connection with the characters. The first book was about a women whose mother has died and she is fixing up the house to live there. Her ex-boyfriend is a stocker and breaks into her mother house. The second book is horrible. The woman is running away from her ex-husband who is abusive to her two children and the woman. She goes and moved back with her mother. The woman hasn’t talked to in like 5 years. The woman finds out her dad died while not communicating with her parents. The woman now living with her mother when Daniel moves in with the woman. The woman knows Daniel from high school. The woman and Daniel are forming a relationship. The woman wants to go slow in the relationship and Daniel doesn’t. The woman’s bother see Daniel and women together . The woman’s bother asks “”Are you two really going to get together?” he asked. “ Most likely, but we aren’t going to rush it.”” The woman mother asks “”So are you and Daniel an item?” “We really like each other but will be taking everything slow,”” ““It was New Year’s Eve, two weeks after Daniel and I reconnected” TWO WEEKS!!!!!! After two week Daniel says “”How about a pre-engagement promise?” “What’s that?” “We promise to engage by a certain time if the relationship works out.” They get married a year later!!!! How is that going slow!!!!! That is a red flag!!!! These books felt frustrating and left a lot to be desired.

If I wanted a preacher I would have gone to church.
I understand that people like God stories but I am .not one of them and don't like being blindsided by a book that should have been under another heading.

The story line was decent but wrapped up too fast. The book itself read like after it was written no one proofed or read it before publishing. There were so many mistakes and name changes it was hard to follow. If the author paid an editor he needs hood money back!
Like The Miracle of Christmas by this same author, I got this book curtesy of Kindle Unlimited because of the cute cover. A sweet Christmas tale of love and second chances.
The stories were good. I have 3 stars because of editing issues. Wrong name used in a few places, things like that. With better editing I would give more stars.
This is a short, sweet clean story of love and second chances. There were some editing issues, like wrong name in a few places. The main characters work through fear, passion and guilt. Then find forgiveness, love and warmth.
Title: A New Start Author: Morris Fenris Published: Changing Culture Publications Age Recommended: Adult Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 5 Review:
"A New Start" by Morris Fenris was a very good heartwarming read of two stories: 'Christmas in King's Gap and Home for Christmas.' Both stories will have something in common and that is each one heroine seems to be 'fleeing from an abusive husband.' This author gives the reader a full amount of emotions that will keep you turning this short read until the end. You will find the characters of both stories full of fear, guilt, passion, warmth, forgiveness and love. "A New Start" was well written of these two battered women who returned home. What will they find...healing and romance? This is where I say you must pick up "A New Start" to see who this author brings it all together to the reader. Would I recommend "A New Start?" YES!
Romance: A New Start (Young Adult and Adult) by Morris Fenris is a great read with 2 novellas inside. Once you begin reading you will be unable to put it down until you are finished reading it. The first novella is about Jessica. She leaves her small town and moves to New York. She plans to make it big there. Unfortunately, things don't go the way she planned. She goes back home. She then has to face the truth about herself.
The second novella is about Sarah. She runs off with a guy no one likes at all. He ends up taking over her life and the abuse begins. She finally has the courage to leave him and goes back home. She has a surprise for her family and her family has one for her. I gave this book 5 stars but it deserves more than that. The stories are short but long in their message. This book would make a good gift and would look great in your bookshelf. I highly recommend it for everyone. I look for more from Morris Fenris.
