For me, this started out on a high. And then I got a little bored. Then it got good again. When I first started it, there was this intense sexual tension. I liked that part. But then they didn't actually DO anything until over halfway through, and the first time they had intercourse was at 67% I think. And I wouldn't normally complain about that -- sexual tension can sometimes be half the fun. My problem was that while they weren't doing it, they were thinking such flowery things about each other. It just got old for me. Ok I get it -- the sun rises and sets with Abram. Or Paige, depending on who's head is talking. I found myself skipping to the next paragraph when the same basic feeling was expressed five different ways and we weren't at the end of the paragraph yet. There was also more story in this one than I remember from the past ones. That's not a bad thing either -- the story was interesting. Even the whole "third" thing was downplayed compared to the others in the series. The gist of this series has been sharing women, but it only happened once in this book. Abram lost his first wife because of his "deviant dark needs"... why didn't we see Tariq again? (And is something gonna happen with Tariq and Chalah?) I did enjoy this, I just didn't like it as much as past books in the series.

Twelfth in the Bound Hearts erotic series usually based around the Sinclair Club. I think Leigh used the word Sinclair once or twice in this story. Khalid and Marty have been engaged for a few months now.

My Take
It musta been dangerous. So dangerous that Leigh couldn't take the time to bother with expanding past her outline. It's the only excuse I can come up with as to the lousy job Leigh's done in creating this story. Hardly anything holds together.

Why would Paige lose her job? One. All she has to do is call the office and arrange for leave. If she isn't powerful enough, she or her brother, Khalid, know enough high-powered people to arrange it. Then her kidnapping. What? She knows that the situation is dangerous and she doesn't bother to check who's at the door? Maybe look out a peephole? This was the lamest plan. I can't believe Leigh couldn't create something more realistic.

Then after Abram rescues her from his insane father, Azir, he demands she drop the sheet she's wearing. Sure, I completely understand Paige's refusal but it's so out of place that she simply leaps straight to "make me". She's been in love with him for, what, eight years. Leigh's not going to go for the dramatic build-up? We don't get any insight into her thought processes? It's just "make me"???

Leigh's lack of buildup eliminates any emotional reaction of the part of the reader to a simple "huh, what?"…yawn…

Then Leigh has Paige compare Abram's dominating nature with the so many dominating men Paige has dated. Again, huh? Paige had already stated she's only been with two men. Yes, I realize that Paige means sexually, but obviously Paige has not had any long-term relationships so I don't get how Paige has all this experience.

When Leigh finally writes the scene where Abram and Paige are finally making love, Leigh is just going through the motions. I just want to get this book over with…

Someone was so not paying attention when Paige silently moans about how she's so wet she'll end up using all her panties within hours. Must not be that wet since she hasn't any clothes. Then there's the comment Abram makes about not having come but he's spilled himself. Um…isn't that a contradiction?? Especially when he follows this up with more talk of spilling himself inside her…???

Oh brother, then Leigh has Abram determined to not give his father and cousin, and therefore the Matawa (religious police) any ammunition to kill him meaning that he and Tariq won't share her. And in practically the same breath he intends to share her in his father's castle. Castle? In the Middle East? I didn't know that any had survived from the Middle Ages… Palace maybe.

Then there's the whole issue about the frozen funds and Abram turning 36 and giving his allegiance. There are some three or four different explanations for this.

And please, tell me that I couldn't possibly be this stupid. Why hasn't Paige told Abram and/or Tariq about what Azir revealed to her about his very in-depth knowledge of what is happening inside Khalid's house in the States? Even when they get back to the States, Paige hasn't told anyone.

Abram's belief that his father and Jafar won't come after Paige if he rejects her has got to be the stupidest idea. He has way more than ample proof that they know how he feels about her. Both he and Paige know how much Azir wants to punish her for her mother's "crimes". What universe are either of them…sorry, is Leigh living on?? And Paige is still questioning Jafar's involvement? Then she's thinking all the hullabaloo is over because Khalid got shot and she's been told that Azir, Jafar, and his men have arrived in the States and they're loaded for bear??!

Well, ya know, I'm kinda guessin' they'd'a told someone at the debrief about Chalah's involvement. And they still allow her unimpeded access into Khalid's hospital room?? Then when Khalid's house is attacked, Paige "considers it completely unfair that his gun was bigger than hers". And it's the first and last time there is any indication Paige has a gun.

This is a don't buy-don't bother reading book. Well, okay, it does advance the Khalid-Abram theme of their insane father and does provide a bit more background on their family. I don't think it's worth it though.

The Cover and Title
The cover is split into an image of a nude man toying with the strap of a woman's slip as he kisses her shoulder. The author's name is white against a red banded background through the middle, and the bottom band is black with part of the title in a red script and the other part in a sans serif white.

The title is what will be a Dangerous Pleasure when Abram's enemies discover who he loves.

As a ‘Bound Heart’ ménage story, this book was disappointing. As a suspense/romance it was pretty good and I did enjoy it….although there were parts that seemed to be missing here and there and left me a wee bit confused….which I’ve come to expect with LL’s latest books.

Paige has been in love with Abram since she was 18. He’s been attracted to her too, but has had to keep his feelings a secret so his crazy powerful father won’t find out and kill her or use her as bait to bring him to heel; Their attraction is noticed, his father kidnaps her and Abram must rescue the woman he loves.

The Club is barely mentioned and the need for a 3rd plays such an unemotional/unimportant part that it could have and maybe should have been left out all together? The 1 ménage scene the story builds up to is pretty anticlimactic, and IMO adds little to nothing to the story…and left me feeling sorry for Toriq for even being involved.

I’m not sure where LL is going with this series, but if this book is a preview, it’s going in a totally different direction.

At the beginning, there was so much potential, a lot of Khalid (who I love) but the story pacing slowed waaaaaay down and the sexy and steaminess that this series is known for was really lacking. Really. Lacking. The plot was hard to follow and there were a lot of characters to keep track of. It's a very underwhelming story and I'll hesitate to pick up the next book. It will really depend on who the leads are.

Who would've ever thought I'd be reviewing a Lora Leigh book and saying "What the hell happened??? Noooooo steam!!!!". But I am sad to say I was extremely disappointed with this book. After the last few books in this series have been really good, really steamy, with great plots, great characters and over the top excellent sex, I expected a really good read.

Instead we get this washed out story, with like 2 or 3 sex scenes TOTAL in the whole book, and that weren't even that steamy! First of all, I didn't like our heroine Paige. She is too immature, and being paired up with an older guy (I think he's 37?) I really thought she would be a little more grown up mentally. We've had much better heroines in this series, and she just can't compare.

Abram is the hot, brooding alpha male, who has been through a whole lot and doesn't want to form any more attachments. He has been the cause of the deaths of his previous wives, and to think that if he gives in to his weakness and takes Paige he would be endangering her, more than she already is, is unthinkable.

Paige is actually Khalid's half sister. Abram is Khalid's half brother. But no, Paige and Abram are not related! However, it does make for a messy situation, and Khalid, who I loved in his book Guilty Pleasure, was starting to piss me off with how he was handling their feelings for each other.

Is it really bad to say that the hottest sex of the whole book was the opening scene, when Abram and Tariq are actually having sex with a different woman? I just didn't feel the chemistry between the two.

The rest of the storyline was a bit boring in general. I miss the Club!!!!! Please, let's just go back to what works best! Ms. Leigh also introduces more members of the Mustafa extended family in this one, and I think they are hinted as possible future books (like maybe Chalah and Tariq) but I wasn't that interested in their characters either!

You know what I really want to see? I want to read Daniel's story! Now he seems intense! I think we need some fresh blood in the characters of this series!

As usual, I find inconsistencies in the story, and one that kept bugging me was the fact that at the beginning of the story (opening scene) Paige is about 21. It is then mentioned (as a passing thought) that Abram started noticing her as a woman when she turned 18. Then after the events that happened at 21 there's a "8 YEARS LATER", but instead of Paige being 29, she is 25. But what happened between them was when she was 21! It should've said 4 years later!

Anyway, I will still, of course, continue to read this series. I do have faith that this was just a little mishap and it will not be repeated!

The UPS man showed up yesterday with my book. I happily trumped all the other books in my queue to read this one. Ms. Leigh delivers again with a sweet menage with a hint of danger. This book seems to be more focused on family and betrayals. I don't understand or know the culture which Abram comes from so I can't tell if any of this is plausible. All I know is, it's pretty bad to be a woman in that culture if a guy is cruel, sadistic and insane. There is no balance or protection. This morality police is scary too. Not my cup of tea. Since I read smut and have "deviant" sexual desires, I guess I'd be stoned to death there. Not something I have on my bucket list.

The sex in this book is a lot less than the others. I guess I'm okay with this. I also wish Ms. Leigh created Paige with a bit more physical defense. Here's my logic. IF Paige's mother was kidnapped, tortured and raped, one would think she would do everything she can to ensure her daughter can defend herself. That's my immediate response, maybe I'm just different. Instead of enrolling her child to be able to fend off attackers, instead, she wraps Paige into a tight little cocoon so when Paige is in trouble, she's completely USELESS. Sure, Paige can be sarcastic and fight with words. Seriously, the guy has Paige naked and wants to rape the hell out of her into submission. The only thing happening with Paige's snide mouth is her sucking on his cock while he's strangling her or whipping her soft ass.

Less you think I'm crazy about self defense, I'd like to state having been on the receiving end of being helplessness, I enrolled not only myself into self defense class as a teen, but I forced my much younger sisters in it. When the day came that one of my sisters was attacked, her training kicked in and she defended herself from two bigger males. Training counts. Paige could have benefited from training. Of course, if she wasn't a stupid pity the poor little rich girl and stayed in protective custody, she wouldn't have been in the situation she found herself. Personally, I think it would have added to the story for her ass to be raped so she learned her lesson. I don't think she fully comprehends the consequences of her childish actions. Sometimes, people have to learn the hard way. It appears Paige is one such girl.

Overall, I found this book to be a quick read. I recommend it to others who liked the Bound Hearts series and who like a happily ever after where love conquers all.

Notes after finishing the book: ****
I won't say this was the best story ever, but it was certainly more than I expected. I have had this book for a while and finally gave it a chance. I liked LLeigh's writing style. (BTW this book has explicit material, and is not for the faint of heart.) I haven't liked ménage books, (Ive only attempted two before, and I did not finish either). However, the scenes in this book were well-written. I liked that the author took her time getting the reader ready for the scene when it happened.
All in all, this was an entertaining read.
------------
Review:
I have never read anything by Lora Leigh. I know she has written many popular erotic books. Unfortunately, her best work is not available in audio, which I highly prefer to Ebooks. Thus I have access to only a few of her books. I've read the reviews for this story and consensus seems to be that this book was nothing special.

Well I don't share that opinion. I'm 75% finished with the audiobook, and I'm very surprised that it was so entertaining. So far, there hasn't been a sex scene that made me uncomfortable. The relationship is exotic and engaging, though perhaps stereotypical of Saudis and those of middle eastern descent. The H/h are forbidden to be together and the backstory was very interesting.

I'm impressed with Lora Leigh and if this is one of her worst, I need to check out her best work.

I will definitely read more of Lora Leigh!

Meh.
Sadly, Meh.
I am a Bound Hearts fan. I even enjoyed Khalid's story where others felt let down. But this one threw me for a loop. There were multiple inconsistencies. Jafar has a female spy with Donover, but had to ask Chalah where Paige was? So the spy knew all kinds of small details but not something as big as who they were protecting? um. no.
And Abram tells us he left Paige and Tariq alone because he couldn't trust himself with her. But later it's because they were supposed to be getting familiar?
That's just a taste of my WTF with this book. I felt there were multiple points where the characters and story line just didn't seem seamless.
Add to it that fans of this series are used to Lora Leigh's heat. The sex. Friends. Once. Once is how often the menage happens.
I just never got on this train.
I never felt like Abram had closure with Lessa's death. The supposed closure was oddly a snap compared to years of torment he'd put himself through.
Paige was the only consistent character that I could follow.
But over all, the erotic wasn't there. The characters unrealistic. And the storytelling inconsistent.
I have to say, I think LL needed to have less sex in her stories. But she went way to close to the other extreme.

Dangerous Pleasure (Bound Hearts #12)

by Lora Leigh

Dark. Dangerous, and plotting the downfall of the bitter, evil old man that calls him son, Abram Mustafa, Khalid's, half brother on his father's side will not face the most dangerous test of his life. And his heart. When his father kidnaps Khalid's beloved half sister by his mother, and brings her to his Saudi village as a hostage against his son's defection, Abram knows his plans for escape from the terrorist occupied home he's known since his childhood, have suddenly become more imperative than ever before.

With Shane Connor working at his side, he must convince his father of his loyalty, a terrorist commander of his unconcern, and a woman that she's not the center of his heart. And he must do all this while losing the battle to fight the forbidden desires that have haunted his dreams for far too many years where Paige is concerned.

My Thoughts and Review

Paige is and has been in love with Abram even though the sparks fly every time there are near one another Abram really only toys with Paige. You understand why he fights the attraction as the book progresses but, he can't be blind to how Paige feels.Abram is part of a government agency along with her brother and a family friend.Abram however was brought up in the middle east and his father is a very powerful and dangerous man.No only his his father dangerous but, his brothers as well.

Paige never really gets over Abram but, she goes on with her life goes to college gets a job at and ad agency and is living her life.Abram contacts Paige brother as Paige's name comes up on a terrorist watch someone is out to hurt her and Abram suspects his dad is up to no good and his trying to force him to return to home and take up the rains by using Paige against him. Paige is kidnap and now Abram need to go to her rescue along with his team.

This gives Abram the excuse he has always wanted to have Paige for himself disregarding her brothers warnings to stay away. Abram is dark dangerous and has a sexual preference of having three-somes and has grown up in the middle east and there ways.None of this seems to bother Paige but, It bothers her brother and there will be hell to pay if he ever decides to act on his feeling.

This story is a long awaited love story. Danger and passion have brought two people together or should I say 3?, that should have been together all along if not for a madman and his sons. I found Paige to be a strong and independent women. She will need to have a open mind and be open minded ifs she ever plans to be with Abram as his sexual tastes are not the norm and no matter how much he may love Paige that is not going to change. This story was wrought with danger, murder, sexual exploration and secrets that come to life. If this couple can defy the odds and live the may be able to find one's hearts desire !This was one hot read !Tons of action from beginning to the end making the book interesting. The cat a mouse game that Paige and Abram played was and enjoyable ride....

FINAL DECISION: Enjoyable read with a lot of suspense, this menage book isn't as strong as others in the series in the emotional aspects.

THE STORY:  Abram Mustafa has wanted Paige Galbraith for years. After the murder of his wife, Abram has held himself apart in order to protect those he might care about -- including Paige. Now Paige has been kidnapped by Abram's father and Abram must protect her while he also gives in to the intense passion between them.

OPINION: This book has yet another twist on the menages in Bound Hearts. In this one Abram has his cousin for a third.  He tries to get Paige and his cousin to form an emotional connection, but it is clear that Paige will only want and love him. Paige, therefore, wants more emotional connection than Abram wants to give.

This book has less sex than the previous books in the series (not that there isn't a lot of hot sex).  There is a more traditional romantic suspense story.  The emphasis in the story is on the immediate events, thus we learn less about these characters apart from their relationship and the adventures they are engaged in.

My biggest problem with the story is that I didn't really buy into the reasons that Abram stayed away from Paige. His past is explained too much and there wasn't really an emotional component with his pain in the past.  As a result, I could understand his reluctance to get involved with Paige because of his concern with his brother's reaction.  What I didn't get was his turning Paige away after they were already sexually involved.

While I enjoyed the story overall, I wish there was more about the emotional life of these characters to intrigue me.

WORTH MENTIONING:  This book has a MMF menage that is rooted in a MF relationship.

CONNECTED BOOKS:  DANGEROUS PLEASURE is the twelfth book in the Bound Hearts series. It can be read as a standalone although it is closely connected with book 11, GUILTY PLEASURE. It continues the story started in that book.

STAR RATING:  I give this book 3 stars. This review was originally posted on Top10RomanceBooks.com

This is the 12th book in this series. Abram Mustafa faces the test of his life and his heart when his terrorist father kidnaps Paige Galbraithe, the one woman who has always been able to touch Abram's soul. Paige is the half-sister of Abrams half-brother Khalid. Abram has wanted her since her 18th birthday and he tries to stay away from her to protect her from his father. There was a lot of conflict and tension between Abram and Khalid and Paige. Paige was kidnapped by their insane father and held captive in the Saudi fortress that was his home. Abram had to return to home and protect Paige until they could escape. This book to me lacked the passion of the other books to me. With Shane Connor working at his side Abram must convince his father of his loyalty a terrorist commander of his unconcern and a woman that she's not the center of his heart. And he must do all this while losing the battle to fight the forbidden desires that have haunted his dreams for far too many years where Paige is concerned. The book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Oh really good story!!!!!! I had a hard time putting this book down because the story line of middle eastern life butting heads with the western world life was intrigueing. Abram's father kidnaps his former kidnapped wife's daughter who happens to be in love with Abram(no relation to her at all, her half brother is Abram's half brother) & who Abram has tried to stay away from to protect her from his father. The need for money & power over land & people drives Azir(Abram's father) to lunacy & revenge against the woman who escaped is fortress & took the son(Abrams half brother & Paige's half brother) he forced on her. The fact that his oldest son is close to the age of accepting the land & money that the Saudi royals have kept from them is driving him to do unimaginable things. Don't want to spoil it but this is a perfect story of good verses evil & what it takes to win. I hope that Lora Leigh continues this series with a book on Tariq & possibly Shayne Connor & Daniel Conovor.

No, no, no, e ancora NO!
Unico pregio: l'ho letto gratis su Wattpad!
Da evitare!

I love the Mustafa brothers! raw-mysterious-sensual-passionate-loyalty to a fault.

I thoroughly enjoyed Abram's story even though it made me nervous as heck. He's the epitome of fierceless. I felt the chemistry btwn him and Paige was patiently nourished, built and then overflowed with love and passion. Imagined Khalid having to explain the love btwn his brother and sister made giggled...so wrong... Is that why he kept and insisted them apart? just the opposite, he truly loved them both and wanted the best for them. Of course they had to find out themselves and see if they can stay away for the sake of their very survivals.

Very exciting and hot read!

Continuation of the menage series...Abram Mustafa and Paige Galbraithe (and Tariq). Crazy Azir Mustafa is still trying to manipulate and/or kill his sons. Very sizzling scenes! Confusing kidnaps and travel back and forth between U.S. and Middle East. Brief glimpses of Khalid and Marty. Good read.

Good story, liked that it all related to the others, but I felt like I was missing something, like maybe another book that gave more insight into this story. I really like where this is heading, if she continues to write this series, so I am looking forward to that. But I recommend reading Khalid's story at least before you read this one, as he is a big part of this story.

3.00/4.00 not your typical Lora Leigh. Very heavy on the terrorist/kidnapping plot and VERY light on the character development, romance and love scenes. My least favorite of this series...then again each new book in the series seems to be worse than the last. Am losing interest in it.

2 stars because I finished it, somewhat against my better judgement. The potential was there for a decent erotic romance, but this book was poorly researched, badly written and full of errors and inconsistencies in the plot that a half competent editor should have picked up. The main characters were one dimensional and completely failed to engage my empathy. I think I kept reading just to see if it improved and sadly it didn't.

My guess is this was written in a hurry to satisfy a demand for more in the franchise; judging by most of the reviews it worked.

This is an MFM relationship between Paige, Abram, and Tariq. Abram and Tariq are cousins.

MMF relationship is between two bisexual men and a woman, “swords cross”.

MFM relationship is only two men and a woman, NO ROMANTIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE MEN.

I liked all three of the main characters but I liked Tariq the best, he was a kind sweet man in an impossible situation.

Hmm... there are so many things I'd like to say. Which I can't, because if I do then I'll be spoiling the story. And I can't do that. But I can at least say that I am shaking my head at this one. There was some effed up stuff here!
