I have written mostly science fiction books in the past, and I write about things I'm passionate about. I would love to know what life would be like in the future, so I wrote:

My previous book, 'The Royal Kidnapping', is my first attempt at a mystery thriller.
- It's a 'what if' story of Queen Elizabeth II having a son born in 1950 instead of a daughter, and he is later kidnapped and then found almost 50 years later (one tiny little spoiler: he eventually meets his mother the Queen, and she finds out he works for an organized crime mob!). A book I collaborated in writing:
'GREETINGS EARTHLINGS, My name is Appleton and I come from the planet Reginta.'
- I helped Appleton write this. For those of you who don't believe in UFOs and extraterrestrials, I had the privilege a while back of meeting Appleton the alien from the Omega Star Cluster. I collaborated with him to write a book about his adventurers on Earth. Little did I realize that they had infiltrated both the Democratic and Republican parties but had also been involved with things like Roswell, Stonehenge, Noah's ark, Lockness monster, as well as the Arizona crater (that was actually caused by their space ship crash landing on Earth when they first discovered this planet).
These aliens technology is so advanced they have been able to travel to heaven and back!

I'm torn because on the one hand, the plot had great potential and it's obvious the author too the time to flesh out his universe to an unusual degree. On the other hand, the writing style was so bad, I truly had to force myself to finish this. It read like it was written for elementary school students. It's really too bad, because I was excited by the plot description and would have forgiven some amount of bad writing, but the way the plot meandered along combined with the absolutely horrible writing style made me clench my teeth in frustration. I was disappointed by the writing and by how the plot ended up being dealt with - it ended up being more of a murder-mystery/thriller than sci-fi. By the time I reached the end, I just wanted it to end.

Very interesting concept. There are a couple of plot holes, such as: how could Henry's laptop survive 50000 years and still have it's info recoverable, how did he add up in space so far from earth and how is Wikipedia as a whole on said laptop. Still it is a very good novel by a first time author

An interesting read. I'm not sure how much I buy into it the initial plot, but I still finished it and enjoyed the story and characters.
