"When God makes provision, there is always plenty to go around, so long as we keep on breaking and giving! I don't care how many come, we can all eat! There is enough for everybody!" ~ R. W. Schambach, I Shall Not Want, Page 77, Paragraph 5.
R. W. Schambach has gone to be with the Lord now, but I remember my mother would put on his preaching tapes in the house while I was playing as a child. Even as a child I could feel the presence and anointing of the Lord as he preached. Not only that, but R. W. Schambach has a great sense of humour and even as a child I would be laughing as I listened.
One of the first Scriptures that I put to memory as a child was Psalm 23:
"1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23, New International Version)
My favourite part of this verse has always been "I shall not want" and when I saw this book in the bookstore, I just had to read it.
R. W. Schambach helps us digest this Psalm through his preaching style, which I found refreshing and brought back those memories of listening to him as a child.
