Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.

He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.

Superbly crafted

I was introduced to computers during the Radio Shack heyday. I'm 1992 I started my degree in electronics. I learned to use MS DOS upon which Windows is based. This book was a trip down memory lane and is still necessary to fully comprehend how to understand Windows from a non graphical standpoint.

A very basic introduction to Windows Command Prompt. Perhaps too basic.

Good, thorough intro to cmd line

Good intro to cmd line. Found chapter 13 the most useful, but gives solid examples throughout. Easy to understand and follow?

Brings back memories of dos.

Very informative. Good for a review of the commands. Persons not familiar with the command prompt is a good first step.

A good review

Pretty much use PowerShell nowadays, but still have a few batch files lying around. This was a good, though basic review.

the book left a lot to be desired and left me wanting. Some.aspects are covered well though. You would need to look around on internet even after you have this book handy with you.

overall it was an alright experience for me. I think the book is for novice/ people very new to windows and not beginners. These days a lot of people know stuff already listed. I might be wrong on this assumption though.

Why did I buy this?
I mean I suppose it does what it says it will.
