I love Keeper of the Home and I really enjoyed reading this book. Stephanie is very good at getting to the heart of the issue and offering viable solutions to the common pitfalls attending meal planning. The best part is that she is also focused on serving the family wholesome foods, and her insights take into account the extra time and effort needed when you are cooking this way, or with special dietary needs. The book also comes with planning pages that I will be using over and over. All in all, a great book with very good, applicable advice.
There is nothing in this book that you couldn't think of it you stopped to think about it for five minutes. But who ever actually stops to think for five minutes? This is a nice little reference on meal planning and frankly, everything seems like a better idea when you can say "I read it in this book." Langford is adamant that your meal plan has to work for you and for me, that was the most important thing I walked away with. It's a quick read and it's time well spent.
This is a great book for planning meals quickly and easily at the same time as your grocery list. By performing an inventory of what's on hand in the freezer, on the shelves and in the vegetable bin there's less waste and more savings at the grocery store. Very helpful, practical ideas that I will be putting to use in the New Year.
This is a great book! A lot of it is pretty basic ideas, but there were some things that have already made a difference in my meal planning! There are great meal planning printable pages included that help you to organize meals, freezer/pantry inventory, etc. I'm so glad I read this book!
