The Devil tells the story of the Piper of Hamlin, who he really is, the historical events he witnessed, and his relationship to Ladle Rat. Most of all, why they call him the Black Death.
12) Tooth & Nail & Fairy Tale by Jack Madly
Jack Madly stole a sack full of baby teeth from Bluebeard's enchanted castle, which reminds him of when he first met the Tooth Fairy when he was a child; a memory he wishes to forget.
13) Ember in the Wind by the Little Match Girl
All the Little Match Girl wants is to sell her matches so she uses the money to eat and find shelter from the cold. But no one in the cruel city of crowded London helps her. Eventually, she learns something about who she really is, and it changes her life forever.
14) Jar of Hearts by the Queen of Sorrow
The Queen of Sorrow, still trapped in the Dreamworld summons Cassandra, the fortuneteller, to ask her about the identities of Lost Seven. The problem with Cassandra is that she's cursed that her predictions will never be believed. The Queen is still determined to believe her, but it will cost more than she can bargain for.

This one was a lot better than the last set... not that the lest set was horrible or anything but I think it's partly because some of my favorite narrators were back.
I'm lazy haha, so if you want to see my thoughts on each installment you can look at my status updates *points up*
Once again we have more fun & twisted versions on our our favorite fairytale characters... things are becoming more inter-connected now and some things are taking shape that will shape/set up things for the series to come. One tale in particular,Jar of Hearts illuminates a motive for one key character and aspects of different things for others (latter for me anyway)
Some well known characters make cameos as well, won't spoil who for ya :) One in particular was short but was my favorite.
I would recommend reading these before you start the first book... some things will make more sense. It's inspired me to give the first book another try (Not sure how I missed these prequels existed before I read it).

{happy valentine’s slay} – {my thoughts} – This book is written for the point of view of the actual {sandman}. I liked this book because it showed another side to {ladle rat} and it allows for the storyline to expand into something more. Something magnificent. I have really come to love these prequels and enjoy reading them every chance I am able. I know for sure they are something I will gladly re-read again in the future.
{children of hamlin} – {my thoughts} - This book is written based on the devils point of view about who the piper really is. The {pied piper} is an interesting character. He started out as being one kind of person but ended up turning into another type of person. Towards the end of this prequel we learn an interesting fact about vampyres as well. However, this prequel helps us to better understand the events that had taken place in the previous prequel in regards to {ladle rat} and the boy in which she was meant to kill.
{tooth & nail & fairy tale} – {my thoughts} - This prequel is about an interesting encounter that {jack} has when he runs into {hansel}, {gretel} and {wendy} at their elementary school in the middle of the night. He comes to find out that they are being punished for having bad teeth and need to go see the dentist in order to not be expelled. This story ends with an interesting plot twist, and leaves the mind to wonder about what if? Or if only?
{ember in the wind} – {my thoughts} - This particular prequel was sad to me. It had a somewhat nice ending but everything in the middle had managed to break my heart. All I can say is I hope there are happier tales in store for {ember} she deserves a chance at some form of happiness even if it is only in her dreams.
{jar of hearts} – {my thoughts} - I enjoyed this prequel. It helped me to clear up some of my thoughts on who I was assuming to be a part of the lost seven. I like how the are vague clues but clues none the less that help you to better understand just who they are.
{welcome to sorrow – bonus prequel} – {my thoughts} – This was am enlightening little prequel. It helps the reader to better understand the layout of Sorrow. I have to admit it’s got an interesting layout and I look forward to see what it going to come of the series when it starts being released.
{reason for reading} - I was given this book as a gift from the author. In return I am giving him an honest review.

I can't tell you if it is just the that I am done with the prequels because I want a full book or if this section just wasn't as good. I have a feeling a lot of it is simply with the fact that I want to read the whole book this is getting confusing with all the charcters and trying to keep track of all their stories lines. It will be easier when I can finally see where this story is going right now it is a mash up of too many characters too many story lines and a constant reminder that not all the stories are the truth... I will reserve my judgement on when the full length novel comes out.

I have love every prequel and and now about to set on my journey with Snow White Sorrow, if you love having fairy tales shown in a different light then I really recommend these story's .... or are they story's ??? That depends on if you still believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden ....

I enjoy the take in the old fairy tales. I keep finding typos i dont know if that is because of the writing or transferring of the story to Kindle. The author should look into it.

I loved all the stories however I really looking forward for the main book. By the way little Match girl story line was amazing I have to say this:)

I did not enjoy this set as much as the first or second. Maybe it has to do with the lack or romance that he did talk about in the afterward. He did state this one was a little more to do with building the plot over the romantic aspects that were seen in others. I did like the background information and how it does set you up for the upcoming full length book by understanding the how's and whys. I do think we are getting a little overwhelming with the amount of information provided in these three short sets of prequels that equals so far 15...
Favorite: 13 ember in the wind
Least favorite: children of Hamlin
I also didn't really care for the Welcome to Sorrow extra prequel.
For my favorite, I liked how Cinderella was tied into the little match stick girl. I thought that was clever. These prequels bring in a lot of characters and overlap them in ways I would not have thought could have happened before. For instance she knew Scrooge. Well then I guess it's possible.
Now for my least favorite it was not because of the writing or anything like that. I thought it was just as good in those aspects as the others. I just do not really like the pipe piper. His story is very creepy and just not one that I enjoy reading about. I did like how it ties into the history of the overall event of the Black Plague.
For the one about the Tooth fairy I loved the incorporation of Sweeney Todd. Just could see him there in the story.

Happy Valentine's Slay: So this story was weird. It's told from the POV of Sandman Grimm... the REAL Sandman Grimm. However once we get some backstory on him, along with some really heavy handed foreshadowing he launches into a Valentine's Day story that features a lot of my favorite characters from this series. However, the third person point-of-view changes so much and the story goes on weird tangents so often that the story itself just sort of falls flat. The characters are great, and it's awesome to see them all interacting, it's just that things were kind of boring and with things moving around so often it took a while for the story to sort of meld into something enjoyable. However toward the end things really started to get interesting...

So yeah, if this story was told differently or things had sort of come together quicker I may have enjoyed this story more, but in the end it just feels like a hodgepodge of random information that just sort of melts into a story by the end.
The Children of Hamlin: This story, in a sense, takes place right after the last one. It's told from the point of view of the Devil. In it he tells the story of the Piper, much the same as I've heard before, though with a few Grimm Diaries tweaks added here and there. The big thing though is how the Piper fits into the larger story and who he is, or will be, to Ladle. The story itself is richly described. I've come to terms with the voice of the Devil and that he won't be this purely evil being, and that he's more of this devilishly silly character. The way he tells this story adds a levity to the otherwise somber tale. And then at the end there is quite a bit of information that helps expand this world even further and points the origins of certain things.

So for the most part I really liked this story it was a lot more entertaining and easier to keep up with than the previous prequel and it sort of combines the two types of prequels usually told, one more plot related and another that's a fun and twisted version of an old classic. My only point of contention is that there were just a few times when the story sort of lulled and the background information to the story felt a bit too heavy handed.
Tooth & Nail & Fairy Tale: So... this tale is probably the weirdest in this set so far. In this tale we find Jack who has just stolen a bag of baby teeth from Bluebeard, and then goes into a tale about how Jack sort of stumbles onto three children in a school about to go to the dentist's. In this tale Jack helps them escape the demonic dentist and in the process runs into the Tooth Fairy. It's, like I said, a rather strange tale but it does a lot to foreshadow and build up to some really cool things The story and mythology itself is actually pretty entertaining. There are a few twists here and there that I really loved and I like how this world keeps growing and we learn the backstories of certain characters.

Ember in the Wind: So the story of The Little Match Girl is a tragic one, there are endings in which the girl has a happy ending, but it's usually because she dies and goes to heaven. This story however is a bit different. Going into this story I didn't know what to expect, I knew it was a story in which this young match girl discovers her destiny but I did't know much beyond that. It doesn't take long however to figure out who she really is and what her role in everything might be. What I really loved though was that it never felt like the author was trying to hide her destiny or pretend that the heavy handed foreshadowing was just supposed to be a teaser for the big reveal. It just all sort of made sense. This story got me very excited for the main series and this character's role in it.

I was utterly entranced by this tale. It's enthralling, entertaining, and has a bit of a somberness to it. You feel sorry for the main character until everything is revealed and then I got a bit jealous of her.
Jar of Hearts: This story takes place a bit after Jawigi and tells the story of how the Queen of Sorrow enlists Cassandra to tell her who the Lost Seven are. The trick with Cassandra though is that while her predictions are always accurate, albeit sometimes vague, anyone who asks the question will never believe the prediction. Now, while this story got off to a bit of a rocky start, I was anxious and excited to learn who the Lost Seven are. However, since this is a series that thrives on the idea of the unreliable narrator, it's impossible to know for sure who the Lost Seven are, regardless though by the end it is fairly clear who five of the Seven are, though two remain very vague and their descriptions could apply to more than one person. I found the infusion of Greek mythology very fun and the character of Cassandra is very entertaining. I love how the Queen continues her deceit and how you never quite know what's up her sleeves.

Welcome to Sorrow: So this isn't so much a story as it is an expositional vehicle to begin to finally introduce the main series. In this tale we are greeted bu Igor who shows us around Sorrow as it is now, no longer a medieval kingdom full of fairy-tales now it's more of a modern day small town full of fairy-tale characters who will soon wake up from their one hundred year sleep. In it we learn more about the town and the dark mystery it keeps hidden. As a bonus prequel it did well, but honestly I didn't really need a tour around Sorrow, it was a fun little side thing, but for the most part it was pretty boring. Toward the end things started to speed up but that was more so Igor could tease a little for the first main series story Snow White Sorrow.

Fun, Fun, Fun
Cameron Jace is a genius when it comes to blending Grimm's Fairy Tales, Mythology, and Historical Accounts with even nods to Hans Christian Andersen and Lewis Carroll to name a few.

This set of prequels wasn't as exciting as the previous two. But none-the-less I have an idea as to who the lost 7 are. Even though the author states you should only know 5. The 6th one didn't reveals his name, and the last one hasn't been spoken of yet. But I think I know.

I love these. There’s so much imagination and it’s a fresh take on old stories. I enjoy the interwoven stories and myths. Fantastic job!

Prequel 11 – Children of Hamlin: I loved the Devil as the narrator. He was hilarious and I’m so glad Jace made the change from Ladle’s mom to him, great move. I found certain children just as grating on the nerves as the Devil did, which is saying something given how much he gets annoyed by them, and that speaks to how great Jace is at making the characters really “pop” in his stories. As for the characters in the story the Devil told, (story within a story, we’ve got some Inception type stuff going on here) I really felt bad for the Piper. It wasn’t his fault he turned out the way he did, and as much as I love Ladle it is hard to argue with siding with Piper given the circumstances, stupid Hamlin adults. The story is rich, the parallels to history are funny but compelling and it moves along at just the right pace. Really enjoyed this one.
Prequel 12 – Tooth & Nail & Fairy Tale: This was a rather crazy tale. Demon worms in your teeth, a combination of Jack (think beanstalk), Hansel & Gretel (who is just lovely by the way) and Wendy (yes THAT Wendy) for characters and a goofy villainous duo of Yakkity Tak and Sweeny Todd made for quite the story. We find out more about how powerful Gretel is and what allowed her to finally test her powers out for the first time, why Wendy turns out to be the character she becomes (sorry but I don’t want to spoil it!) and the perils of magic not fully thought through. There is a lot of build up and fleshing out of characters before the story really takes off but I think that it will be worth it when the full-length novels come out, and besides, they were quite enjoyable to learn about anyhow! Also, not that it will work out (due to his refusal to marry for reasons he hasn’t shared…yet) but I think Jack has a thing for Gretel, not that I blame him. Very entertaining.
Prequel 13 – Ember in the Wind: This was one story where I was unfamiliar with the original tale it was based off of, The Little Match Girl. I thought it started off a bit haphazardly but it paid off with yet another stunning reveal as to who she becomes and what it could mean for that tale in the full-length novels (you’ll have to read the prequel to see which one I mean). I don’t know if Jace’s intent with these prequels is to constantly feel bad for the characters within and wish to help them even though we are powerless to do so, but if so well done. Reading about the suffering the girl endures will break your heart and curse those who would leave someone so sweet and innocent to such a fate. She is pure and though she inherits a gift that could change that quality in her I hope it does not. Very moving.
Prequel 14 – Jar of Hearts: Another look into the Queen of Sorrow gives us a bit more understanding as to why she is hunting the Lost Seven as well as how she has gained much of the information that was previously hidden from her. Jace brings Greek mythology into the mix with the character Cassandra, as he did at the end of the prequel I recommend you read her story, it is quite interesting indeed. Though I understand the reasoning behind the conversation between the Queen and Cassandra going over so many details I think it made the story drag a bit especially since the reader could have inferred much, if not all, of the information exchanged between the two in previous prequels. It was somewhat of a default recap even if it wasn’t intended as such. I get the purpose behind Jar of Hearts but it was the only one in this group that I didn’t enjoy that much.
Prequel 15 – Welcome to Sorrow (Bonus Prequel): This is a short geography lesson delivered by a hunchback. Honestly there really isn’t much more to say that the previous sentence doesn’t convey, but it is pretty funny.
Overall this was a very strong set of the prequels. It is not the last of the prequels overall, but it will be the last released before the first full-length novel Snow White Sorrow comes out. I highly recommend you get all of them so you can do a fun little marathon session, it won’t take you long to read them all I promise, though you won’t even notice time going by while you are diving deeper into Sorrow. It’s quite the series of adventures!

Happy Valentines Slay:
In this prequel, we get to meet the real Sandman (yes, the REAL one this time!) who is telling us a little on how some of our favorite people are celebrating Valentines. Well, when not working that is! Lattle has to go to work – Death doesn’t really take time off you know. So when Lattle meets her target for the night, she feels sorry for him and decides he can have one night of fun.
Only things never go as planned…, and now Lattle might have fulfilled an ancient prophecy without meaning to.
Children of Hamlin:
Ever wondered about the Mad Piper and how he came to be? Well, sit down and enjoy, because this is the story nobody told you before!
This prequel is told by the Devil himself, which makes it an even better and funnier read to me. Secrets are being unraveled – I won’t divulge them because it’s more fun to read it yourself. But trust me, the dots are forming and the truth will out.
Tooth & Nail & Fairytale:
I never thought a story about Tooth Fairy could be this scary. But then again… It IS Jack Madly telling the story, and you and I both know how many adventures and unbelievable stories Jack has. I never believed in the Tooth Fairy myself, but have always been fascinated by the tales.
We get to meet Gretel, Hansel, Yakkity Tak (all teeth), Sweeny Todd and Wendy – and Jack too, of course. Seeing Wendy and knowing what kind of person BEFORE she turned into a vampire… Well, it’s no surprise she is who she is, and let leave it at that.
Ember in the Wind:
This story has base in one of my childhood favorite authors; Hans Christian Andersen’s story, The little girl with the matches. The little girl with the matches is not a “normal” fairytale. It’s a sad story and not exactly a happy ending – and yet… Anyways. I loved this story when I was a child – mainly because it was so different, and Cameron has brought that into his story beautifully. I’m not going to tell you who’s the story about, only this: if you think Cameron only took pieces from The little girl with the matches, you’d be so very wrong. :-)
My thoughts:
I loved Cameron’s storytelling from the get go. From the very first prequel to this bundle. Through these prequels, you can see how he’s changed and improved as a writer – I’m not saying the first prequels were bad in ANY way, but you can see improvement.
In this bundle, I’ll have to say that Embers in the Wind are my favorite, although Children of Hamlin comes in a close second. I never thought about the Piper all that much.
I enjoyed these prequels, and I love the way Cameron can twist the old tales, give them new life and bring something in from the sidelines without us as a Reader realizes what’s happening. History is filled with mysteries, horrible tales and delightful stories about courage, and Cameron is exceptionally skilled at bringing our own history into his Fairytales.
I’m surprised every time I sit down with a new story from Cameron Jace, and I’m hoping with everything in me that the magic he has created in his prequels, will be brought into his books too.
Cameron: Thank you for a wonderful read. Loved it and I recommend it to anyone who like their fairytales to be different and exciting. Can’t wait for Snow White Sorrow!!

Some spoilers.
Children of Hamlin was creepy. I've heard of the original story and that's also creepy. When Piper takes the kids, that's just scary, sad, dreadful, disturbing. We learn what happens to them and the outcome but before that, all you do is wonder. So disturbing, all the parents can do is watch.
Tooth & Nail & Fairy Tale. okay this one was just spooky and creepy. Sweeny Todd is the dentist. No one likes to go to the dentist but imagine Sweeny as your dentist,,,, hell no.. And the Evil Tooth Fairy, now that was scary. All you heard and saw was the door slower creaking open... spoookyyy,,, you're just waiting for the Tooth Fairy do jump out and take one of the kids. That's a nightmare. And just imagining how it could look like,,,, scaaryy.
Ember in the Wind was a sad story. All you can do is feel bad for her. After what happens to her mom and then she gets stuck with that evil, mean, family. Just not right. It sucks how people can be. And she still continued to try and help out even though the world was so cold to her, literally and metaphorically. And it had a sad ending :( we know what happens to her but it's sad how that life ended.
I am still confused about The Queen of Sorrow. She wants to kill Snow White, her daughter, because Snow is a vampire killing people. So it looks like Snow is the bad guy here. I know the Queen is also evil cus she's killing people too, to get what she wants and to get to Snow. It looks like she's trying to stop evil or it could just be that she's jealous of Snow like the original story, because why would The Lost Seven be helping Snow, if she's so evil, and The Lost Seven are characters that we've come to know and most are not bad people. So it gets confusing who the actual evil is here.
We also get to hear a little about Igor. He gives us a tour of Sorrow.
I liked most of the characters. I like hearing about Jack and Marmalade, but didn't like how needy she was and how Jack really saw her. He's still stuck on the hooded girl. Peter seems cool but Wendy is such a b with an itch. Someone should shut her up. Ladle is also a girl who is doing her job but she just seems heartless. It's like choppyty chop someone's head and now off to my date :) with wolfy. No heart that girl, no heart. Gretel seems like she can be a strong powerful girl but doesn't know it yet, Hansel, well he just gets in the way.
The Devil is just creepy, The Piper is disturbing, he was once kind and nice but got tired of people taking advantage of him. Sweeny Todd and the demon worm, creepy,, Tooth Fairy,,, scary... Cinderella,, sad,,, :( :( but who knows she could be the strongest of them all. The Queen of Sorrow,,, confusing,, Snow White confusing too, evil but confusing.
These stories just get better. Really getting to know all the characters. Makes you want to know what happens to all of them. Great book.

10.5) Happy Valentine’s Slay
Well... I liked the "other" Sandman more. But then, I have a special love of that character already. :) The story was interesting, but none of the characters are really favorites of mine so I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the other prequels. But still a good tale!

Great follow-up story to Happy Valentine's Slay. I liked the Devil a little more in this story, even if he isn't what I imagine him to be like. The connection to the Black Death was interesting and I thought the history and fantasy flowed really well together. Another one of my favorites.

While I still don't really like Jack, I LOVED hearing more about Wendy. Her story gets more interesting with each book and the anticipation for the full series is crazy. I also loved how dentists are portrayed in this book. I thought it was funny and exactly how I used to imagine them years ago (still do sometimes, although I have great respect and appreciation for dentists. I just don't like to visit them too often). Excited for more Wendy stories!

Absolutely beautiful prequel. I liked Alice a lot more in this book and the concept of the Dreamworld is even more intriguing. I'm far more excited for Cinderella Dressed in Ashes than I was after reading Ashes to Ashes and Cinder to Cinder (which I do need to re-read eventually). I was never a huge fan of the Cinderella story, so I'm excited to see what Cameron does with it!

Happy little squeaks of joy! I love the Queen of Sorrow. Seriously. I enjoyed learning more about the Lost Seven and who they might be and why they are so important to the Queen. I also really love how Cameron is incorporating more than just the Grimm characters into his stories. Cassandra was an excellent addition (but I also adore Greek and Roman mythology) to the story and I can't wait to learn about all the new characters hinted at in this prequel!

A cute little walk around Sorrow narrated by Igor. This prequel adds more depth to the overall story and is the perfect lead into the full series. Have I mentioned that I can't wait? :)

As usual, it’s a fascinating collection and fun seeing the fairytale characters interacting with each other - imagining how the different fairytales would relate to each other. In Happy Valentine’s Slay, I sort of just skipped over Willie Winkie and Lewis Carroll. I got bored fast by them. In Children of Hamlin, I loved how Jace linked the Piper and his rats to the Black Death, which seems so obvious now since Black Death has always been linked to rats. And I liked how the original story was kept mostly intact, rather than some of his tales that totally changed all the details surrounding the very core of the story. I also liked seeing Ladle as a typical teenager, arguing and not trusting her mother. And I loved the creepy atmosphere. Though it seemed unnecessary that it be narrated by the devil and we really only need paying the Piper mentioned once rather than dropped in at every point possible. And once it finished the Piper’s story, the narration gets bogged down by the world building details again in an excessive info dump. And the pocket full of posies has already been linked to the plague, so we didn’t really need the info breakdown. Admittedly, I skipped over Tooth & Nail. I tried, but the obsessing about the dentist just bored me to tears (even with the infamous name attached to him). I loved the story of The Little Match Girl. I could easily picture the cobbled streets of London and the Dickensian atmosphere and even loved the brief cameo and twist at the end (though I’m still quibbling over the character’s mother’s timeline. According to the notes at the end, there’s time travel involved, so it’s all good). Jar of Hearts felt too weighed down by trying to cram in all the world building details, though I did love trying to incorporate a Greek myth into the scheme of things. But it felt like it was trying to show the reader all important pieces and the characters that will be key to the future and explain off why the villain will turn into a clichéd Bond villain and let them go without harming a hair on their heads, even though it will be so obvious that they’re the Lost Seven that she’s moving mountains to eliminate (my opinion is that things like that should be done subtly without the reader realizing they’re being fed the important info). As far as editing, it is world’s better than the editing job on the previous installment, but the editing quality varies per story. Out of the bunch, Jar of Hearts had the most typos. In all, I would still recommend this collection for the fascinating take on the history of the Piper’s story and for The Little Match Girl. Both are beautifully executed.

More great stories from the man Cameron Jace!
I really do enjoy these prequel stories. But the only problem is that I am getting information overload with regards to all the back stories of so many people and so many twists and turns. Personally, he should have given us some insight into the background of the Sandman/ Sandmen?, Snow white and the Queen of Sorrow, then bring in the first book, then have a few more of the prequels thereafter before the second book so that it grows the story as you read.

I love this book series so far, I can't wait to continue the story. This series is so engaging to me, and I love the twisted tales of my favorite fairy tale characters.
The devil in this series I find very entertaining, and I love that he's like a teacher/headmaster to the kids in hell with him lolz, its so funny when they annoy him.
"You’re not capable of breathing!” A short kiddo complained. “Well, at least you could have the courtesy to let me pretend that I do,” I fired back.
"How else am I supposed to show anxiety?” “You shouldn’t feel anxiety. You shouldn’t be feeling at all,” the kiddo wouldn’t stop. - the devil.
The kiddos next to me were starting to sob, too. “Man up. I mean Devil up, all of you,” I snapped. - the devil. my poor hell senpai!
I really enjoyed the Ember in the wind prequel.
I didn’t know why my mother, whom I hadn’t met, would send a woman who seemed to be death itself to me. - Ember, aka. Cinderella.

The devil in this series I find very entertaining, and I love that he's like a teacher/headmaster to the kids in hell with him lolz, its so funny when they annoy him.

I really enjoyed the Ember in the wind prequel.

Amazing
How do I begin, I find myself almost lost for words, and trust me this rarely happens in my lifetime. I would like to say, as far as the prequel sets go, this is my favorite. Of course I am indecisive as far as whose story is my favorite. I really enjoy how the writer is doing the prequels as a diary. I keep wondering how the writer will draw , me in even closer, and it continues to happen with every prequel that I finish. I must say, explaining the seven, from the queens point of view is remarkable. I want to add, when I first started reading this series of the grimm diaries, I never believed that I would be so drawn towards an abstract view of the fairy tales I heard while I grew up. We all grew up with our parents, grandparents, or loved ones repeating the stories, usually as a bedtime story. When I began my journey into Sorrow, I thought how amazing, not your usually fairy tale, but now with this set.. Even the crazy evil, fear a far more evil. Goblins running away from the tooth fairy... I love it... You have good, bad, and the horrible awful that even makes the bad guys blood run cold... keep up the great work...

I just keep postponing and postponing reading the full stories about Cameron's fairy tale characters. How can I not, when there are still all these funny short stories to read?
This was written in the same trend as the previous diaries. Each has its own character telling a story that is related to the world Cameron is creating. I like how after having already quite a few of these diaries you get to know the characters more and more and you start to see connections between them.
I especially liked the Children of Hamlin story and I get the feeling that this story is going to play a big part in the books (that I still have to start reading, sorry about that)

These are the last prequels before the main series is released (its already April... when does it come out???) As always, a good retelling of our "known" characters. This time we get to see our "already known" characters in other settings... as Valentine or the dentist. We also meet "the Black Death" and his pipe. The last part is a welcoming message to the town of Sorrow... and the beautiful monster that lives in its heart... Snow White!

It's been a couple of years since I picked up any books in this series, and now I'm reminded of why. The writing sucks, the author wants to spend more time explaining his story rather than telling it, and there are so many spelling errors. Spelling errors in an ebook that has at least two sets of eyes looking at it. The characters are laughably terrible, as is the plot. I don't remember how I made it through the first two prequel sets but that was a miracle.

I really like the concept and the story (though I am getting a bit disappointed that all of the 'princesses' are not nice at all - I don't want to use the word evil - whilst most of the boys are) but I think there are a few style choices and mispellings throught and the book could use another review. I'm also not convinced on the language used though this might be more of a choice based that the book seems more directed at children (even if the topic really is more teen+).

Fairy tales
I enjoyed this prequel book but not as much as the previous books. It was another good set of stories that help you understand sorrow. However found the stories in the previous books more interesting. This was still a good book however with the previous books I felt hooked into the stories and with these I didn't. Still a good book that helps you understanding though. Looking forward to continue in the series. Xxx

Five of seven?
Love how Jace only hints at the heart, pun intended, making the reader want more. I can't stop reading these and I couldn't resist the first book. I sometimes feel frustrated but Cameron Jace always delivers at the right moment the clue one needs to be reeled in; often because it is only a tasty morsel leaving a need for more. Look forward to what the future holds

I enjoyed this set of prequels just like the ones before these my only complaint would be that there were so many editing problems. I think the editing team could have checked again to make sure it was ready. Other than that I really enjoyed reading it. I'm ready to read the next set, 15-18 and also book 3.

Amazing!
I read each of these prequels waiting to be disappointed, but never am. I am completely in love with these characters, even the evil queen. the history you added in this set made the story that much better, as I have a fascination with london and vampires as well. I don't just read these stories, I devour them. absolutely brilliant.

Love these prequel stories. I like that they intertwine with history and other fictional characters and not just fairy tales. The amount of creativity and time taken to weave this world is amazing and it comes across in the writing. Def enjoying reading these and looking forward to Snow White Sorrow.
