If you like Mary Higgins Clark, you'll love Be Mine by Tristi Pinkston. He knows where she works. He knows where she lives. And soon, they’ll come face-to-face. Erin Lewis is an up-and-coming fashion designer building up her career in New York City. With a loving husband, a great assistant, and working in the field of her dreams, she couldn’t be happier. But perfection can’t last forever. When a long string of tragedies shakes Erin to her core, she doesn’t know how to keep moving forward day by day. And when she is targeted by a brutal serial killer, she must find the inner strength she never knew she had just to survive.
What an amazing book! I can usually solve who-done-its like this, but I was completely kept guessing until the very end. I bounced around from male character to male character, suspecting every man except for the police investigator. I experienced chills, sorrow, fear and gratitude for loyal friends. Be Mine is extremely well thought out and written. If you ever give up romance, you have a career in thrillers waiting, my friend.
This is a great read for murder mystery lovers. It has intrigue, atmosphere, and a true "photo" finish. It should keep you guessing right up to the last few pages.
It's a suspense, with a crazy stalker, and frankly, it reminded me a lot of Michaelbrent Collings book, Blood Relations. The plots are very similar with the stalker theme and the twists at the end. And they are both enjoyable books.
Be Mine introduces us to a fashion designer named Erin Lewis. She has a practically perfect life, a great job, an incredible marriage, everything is going her way. Until she starts to feel like she's being watched and the great things in her life disappear one by one. I bet you can guess where that leads.
There are two points of view in the story, Erin and the stalker. I enjoyed Erin's POV, and liked how layered her character was. Sometimes her dialogue was a bit stilted, but overall she was a great character and very relatable. The stalker's POV seemed cliched at times and a bit predictable, but most stalker stories have that issue. I thought the author did well at hitting all the tension and suspense beats and I was pulled into the story because of that. There was a twist at the end that surprised me and left me unsettled because of the way the story had been written, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I would definitely read another book by this author because of her talent at suspense.
I have enjoyed reading thrillers since I was in high school. There's something about scaring myself to death while reading a book in the middle of the night. My grandma had the same love and we enjoyed talking about all the Mary Higgins Clark books we'd read. When she passed last year, I was sad for many reasons, but one of those was that I couldn't share exciting thrillers with her.
I loved this book. It had me scared and wanting to keep reading to find out who the bad guy was.
Sandra keeps you guessing as to who the creep is that won't leave Erin alone. There are the obvious suspects and those that you hope have nothing to do with it. But who actually did it?
Erin had never taken the time to make friends on her own but when Jenna and Cori ask Erin and Michael, her husband, to come with them to meet Dana and Nick, she gains a circle of friendship she never thought possible.
Things get dangerous when Erin begins to feel someone watching her. Then the seemingly random murders throughout New York and New Jersey start to connect to her. After being threatened, her neighbors rally around to protect her. Who could be doing this, and what will it take to stop them? Comment |
Wow, this was a book I was glad to be reading it when hubby was home. I love these kind of stories but I'm a big chicken. Lots of action, lots of tension, twists and turns had me wondering who the bad guy actually was!
I hope the author has more books in the works because I'd definitely read them. This was a very enjoyable mystery that I world absolutely recommend. Just don't read alone at night!
I've read other books by Ms. Flynn before (all of which I've enjoyed), but this easily my favorite. The characters were interesting and likable, the suspense kept calling me back and the ending totally surprised me--not something that happens very often in the mystery/suspense genre. Two thumbs up. Can't wait to read her next book!
This was very reminiscent of picking up a Mary Higgins Clark novel and that's high praise since she is the queen of suspense and one of my favorite authors. I thoroughly enjoyed the tone of this book and definitely got jerked around with the character. I will definitely be reading more from Sandra Norton Flynn if more are written!
Well written. Interesting and keeps you guessing until the end. I found myself thinking about this book when I wasn't reading it and should have been doing something else! I read it on the train on my Kindle and was keen each morning and afternoon to get back to it and find out what would happen next. I do love a good thriller!
I liked the overall story line. Good, clean suspense. But there were a few glitches for me. The pacing was a little rough and it was a tad predictable. But I still liked it enough to read her next one.
