Cuter than I expected, Splat’s clumsiness is appreciated in a way I wished mine had been as a kid

Splat is appearing in the school play, Cinderpaws, but he is only playing a mouse. Splat's friend Spike is the prince, but he is afraid to go on stage. Spike colors purple dots on himself and tells the teacher, Mrs. Wimpydimple, that he is ill and cannot participate in the play.

Splat must play the Prince, which he does successfully until he knocks over ALL the stage props and backdrops!

The audience laughs and all ends well.

Sean thought this was pretty funny. He picked it out at the library and we read it together, July 2013.

This Splat the Cat book was adorable! At first I thought they were just retelling Cinderella but after the boy that was suppose to play the Prince couldn't go on... Splat over came his fear and said he'd play him. WONDERFULLY told to help children know they can do whatever they want to overcome their fears to do something wonderful!
