Under His Command

Rate this book
When his closest friend falls on hard times, Gerard is willing to do anything to help him. Taking in his friend’s younger brother, Alexander, proves to be no hardship at all, as Gerard has admired him from afar for years. He’s only been waiting for Alexander to grow up… Alexander has fantasized about Gerard ever since the day he turned sixteen. He accidentally witnessed a sexual encounter between Gerard and another man. He’d never hoped to encounter someone else like himself—a man who desired other men—and now he’s very excited about the chance to confess his needs to someone else. The mutual attraction is obvious once they’re alone, but will these two men only find the pleasures of the flesh? Or will they discover that more than lust has brought them together? 16,000 word historical short story

This is the third book I've read by this author, bought all at the same time and surprisingly without realizing it. I liked the blurbs and bought them but until now I hadn't really liked any of them. There's nothing deep going on here, no drama or angst, just a story about two men falling in love. I was pleasantly surprised.

Not what I expected

I was expecting something far more erotic, but I loved the setting, and the relationship was quite genuine. A great read.
