This book was such a disappointment to me. There was so much potential. I really wanted to like it.
Kat was a fantastic character and Hunter was almost there.
The problem was the writing. Oh, God, the writing. I really have a hard time believing this book was proofread or edited even once. I get it, as an indie author, it's expensive to get somebody else to edit your work but that doesn't mean it's okay to charge people money for something so unfinished. I know it's almost impossible to keep mistakes out of your work but there were too many here to just let it go.
There were spelling and grammatical mistakes galore. Far too many to list but a few examples are: weather/whether confusion, total misspelling of valet, "take a vowel" instead of "take a vow" and a complete lack of understanding of the function of a comma.
If this book had just been redrafted a few times it really would have been a five star read.
I don't mean to bash with this review, there is some true potential here, I just feel so let down by what could have been fantastic. I would have been disappointed if the book had cost .99c but at over $7 (Amazon, Sweden), I feel well and truly ripped off.

Amazing simply amazing it's sexy it's kinky it's thrilling its not your typical love story but that's what makes it so much better to read you will laugh you will get mad you will need several cold showers!!' Hunter is perfection he is walking Sex God you can't help but give into his evil genius ways, Kat is strong and outspoken you will see this story develop into so much more than you bargain for it will break you it will mend you it will leave you with your mouth open at the end!! This, my friends, is why you don't buy books based on pretty covers. UGH! I totally got gypped. This sounded really promising: Dominatrix commits a crime and is sentenced to serve time as a submissive for the hottest Dom in town at the illustrious Masters & Mistresses sex club.
Our leading lady, Katie AKA Kat and sometimes Tiger, is a dominatrix with many deeply seeded emotional problems. For starters her parents could care less about her. Her father is a dominant and drug addict and her mother is (in her words) a whore. At the age of fifteen she's pulled into a volatile submissive relationship with a guy who buys drugs from her parents. She loves him and yet is running from him. She's homeless on the streets when this guy Sailor finds her and takes her in to his sex club, where the book opens. Sailor explains that she's out of control and needs training to become a truly great dominatrix, one who cares about her submissives and sees to their needs as much as her own.
He sends her to Hunter Ford, who is supposed to be like devastatingly handsome and macho, at Masters & Mistresses Palace, a place where people can go to indulge in their sexual fantasies. Sailor promises Kat that this is stay is only temporary and is intended to help her learn and mature. She will be there for 30 days, after which time she will return to Sailor.
Kat is strong-willed and determined to defy Hunter and leave M&MP the same as she was upon arrival. Even though Sailor has pretty much begged that she cooperate and participate for the learning experience, she refuses to bow to anyone and absolutely will not call Hunter her master. She strives to get him to submit to her and he's working to get her to submit to him. It's a sexual game of cat and mouse.
This game would have been a hell of a lot more fun to read about had it been spell checked. Seriously, the spelling and grammatical errors in this book are absolutely unacceptable. If you're going to call yourself an author and charge people to read your work grammar and spelling should be flawless. It detracts from the story.

I was really looking forward to this book and enjoyed it...mostly! There were a lot of grammatical errors that gave me pause throughout the book which ruined the flow for me and then the ending just didn't make sense to me, I felt the last couple of chapters were choppy and then it just ended. I know the writer wanted to end with a big cliffhanger, I just feel that she could have led up to it better.
In saying that, I did really enjoy the best part of the book and loved Kat and Hunter so I'll be hanging on to see where this ride takes us!

This book immediately grabbed my attention. I have been reading a lot of BDSM lately so I was excited about this one. The story is different from what is out on the market right now. This is not a story of a young virgin co-ed that meets a big bad Dom. This is a story about a fierce Domme that is forced to be a submissive as a punishment for getting out of hand with one of her subs.
Kat is strong and determined. She lived a crappy life and has taken steps to always be in control of her life.
“They call me Tiger, Dom mistress of the underworld sixty-six. At 5 foot 9, thin build, red hair, and a pretty face… I’m cute, but my fierceness with a whip breaks that, and I become something else. At twenty four, I saw my life always being this way; always seeking revenge in the worst way, and with the wrong people. Those people who damaged me will never get what they deserve and I will always hate the world and everyone in it.”
Kat works with Sailor who saved her from a horrible life and he trained her the best he could. They had a very special relationship but Sailor had to punish her for going to far during a scene. Her punishment was to go spend 30 days at another club, the Masters and Mistresses Place. It is run by Hunter, “the most arrogant, roughest, richest, hottest, hardest, badass Master in town.” Hunter is alpha male to the nth degree.
Kat goes to the Palace but she doesn’t plan to break for anyone but Hunter knows differently. She is a lover of pain. Kat needs pain to take away some of her emotions. She choses to defy Hunter often leading to a few brutal beatings that were graphic and made me cringe but I couldn’t look away. Hunter teaches Kat the 7 deadly sins. They were all powerful lessons that Kat needs to learn.
The chemistry is pretty smoking between these two. You really felt the heat with this couple. The author did an amazing job showing us their connection. He is eleven inches of control and dominance. His dirty talk can melt the panties off a nun.
“You are so fucking beautiful, even your pussy is sexy as fuck. Right now, I want nothing more than to bury myself inside your tight cunt and fuck you till you scream my name.”

Their 30 days together are a roller coaster for both Hunter and Kat. There are secrets, walls crumble and deep emotions are felt. I watched as the characters evolve in their wicked ways.
“Hunter, you fucking consume me.” I yell. “You bring me to my fucking knees not because I fucking like it, but because I fucking want it. You have no idea how hard this is for me.”
This book consumed me as well. I ignored lots of laundry to finish this book. The ending was not what I was expecting. There was a bomb dropped that I didn’t see coming at all. I look forward to the next book to see the future holds for Kat and Hunter. The ending left me wanting more.
The supporting characters were amazing too. They added so much depth to this book. I really hope she does spin offs for them. I may have to stalk her for more info.
I give this book 4 stars. However, I will tell you that editing is an issue for this book. The story is totally worth it but if you have issues reading books with poor editing, be advised.

Kat is one tough bitch and doesn’t know when to stop. She loves being a Mistresses as much as she hates it. Kat had a rough introduction into this world and she has found the best way to stay in control is to hold the power. Will she be able to submit or will she bring Hunter to his knees?
I have been anxiously awaiting this novel for a while and I can honestly say that it didn’t disappoint. Holly wrote these characters in such a way that I wanted to reach in an shake these people to open their eyes to whats going on around them! I have to say, in the beginning I really didn't like Hunter (a shock to me), but he really grew on me. In addition to the main characters, I also fell in LOVE with the supporting characters. Arrow and his brotherly advice, Angel with her upbeat personality, David as close to a father figure that Kat has ever known, and Rumbles with his bad ass sweet side (with a mean left hook.)
Multiple plot twists I never saw coming helped evolve this story to the end (sort of), we are left with the dreaded cliffhanger, but at least we will see more of these people. I not so patiently wait.....
I think this is a awesome first published novel from Holly Carter & I can't wait to see where else she takes us.

The story starts off on strong notes and kind of gets irritating. Then picks back up with strong characters and lessons. I loved that Hunter was teaching Kat with a different method than some other BDSM books have gone but, then again, I felt him getting too weak on her as well. I can't imagine many real Doms putting up with some of the crap she pulled. But, that is what brought them closer together until...........SPOILER ALERT..........the end when really it just blows the hell up. I understand where the author is going. I have a feeling I may like the revenge part but, sometimes you have to leave the reader with a HEA and write another story with other characters or continue with new stories with other characters from this book. END OF SPOILER ALERT!!!! .............But, mostly, someone needs to neaten this book up first. The typos are horrific and the language is off. Example is "I take a vowel to stop drinking".........wonder when the word wander is needed, than instead of then. It takes a moment to mentally correct the grammar to continue on. Holly Carter has potential. She needs to get an editor (Good one) Her timelines need a bit of work and she needs to start off with single story novels until she builds up her fan base. With so many (Hundreds literally) authors putting out series and trilogies, a new author joining the ranks without a large fan base will simply put readers off. I honestly cannot keep track anymore of how many series I am reading. I have now decided to wait until all of them are released before I start reading any of them.

If you liked the Shadowlands Series you'll love this!! Punished into submission is book one in the Master and Mistress series by Holly Carter. This book starts with a domme/mistress with one of her submissive clients, she's scene-ing with him but remembering his past pains. She's out of control and she knows it, Kat is put before the 'Jury' in the kink club she works in and they decide it's best to send her to Hunter at the Masters and Mistresses Palace for 30 days to submit to him and learn how to be a better Mistress, this is her worst nightmare, next to the actual nightmares she has. This book is heavily erotic and Hunter is one sexy Dom! Kat is sexy and sassy even though she has some deep issues and she has an attitude the devil himself would kill for. Hunter and Kat's interactions as super steamy from the moment they meet and you will need plenty of cold showers while reading their story. Their relationship deepens as the book goes on and both Kat and Hunter learn things about themselves and each other that they never wanted to. Overall the story was fantastic and I can't wait for book two as this on ended so unbelievably well. However the editing left something to be desired unfortunately there were a lot of mispelled words and the wrong word used and missing words which is why I can only give 4 stars if it was better edited it would have been 5 because honestly I loved Kat and Hunter and really want more from both of them!

When I first started reading this book I was ready for some BDSM, but to my surprise there was a lot more emotions in this story than just the BDSM part of it. Kat tugged at my heartstrings and she was such a bad b!tch but deep down inside she was so broken and just tried to hide it from the world.

David (You guys will love him!)… Arrow (He is the type of guy that you can instantly become friends with)…. Rumbles (What a big ol’ teddy bear even though he looks like a scary bear on the outside)…. I really enjoyed this book. It has a pretty big cliffhanger. But I liked Kat and the struggles she went through and how they defined her. Hunter was so strong (but weak? I don't know.. we're definitely missing something about him still). It would have been nice to get his perspective, so we could really see his feelings develop. I was a big fan of the relationship between Arrow and Kat. I also liked Rumbles and how he didn't push Kat but was always there for her and provided her some solid advice. All the supporting characters were great. Hopefully we get to see more of them in the next book. The cliffhanger, although big, and seemingly out of left field - sort of makes sense, it a twisted way. I can't wait to see how it plays out.

After the teasers, I figured this book was going to be just about breaking a girl down to be a submissive. It was way more than that. When Kat was sent to Hunter's club to straighten up to see the other side of what she does everyday as a Mistress, she ends up fighting back but eventually finds herself and sees a different side of Hunter and his family. She also finds a connection between Hunter and a guy from her past she hoped she would not see again. Other than the BDSM "training", there was actually a love story there about finding the real you and standing up for what you really want. In the end, Kat does find herself and wants revenge for what she went thru growing up. There is definitely a cliffhanger and I can't wait until the next book comes out because I want to know how Kat takes her revenge and if her and Hunter can put their pasts behind them and move on together.

Definitely worth the wait. Holly Carter's 1st published book is a home run!
I was absolutely unable to put this book down, like read all night, walk into work the next morning with bags and dark circles under my eyes and smiling because Hunter is so darn delicious.
Sailor saves Kat's life, rescuing her from a life on the street. After numerous mis-steps Sailor send Mistress Kat to Hunter as 'punishment' to be trained for 30 days. Hunter the ultimate Dom trains Kat to be submissive through the 7 sins. Their relationship takes Kat and Hunter into uncharted territory until Kat's past collides with her future.
I give this book 4.5 stars, deducting .5 star for typos and incorrect word usage. I cannot wait until Book 2 is released in October!!

Where have you been Holly Carter? This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was AMAZING. This is soooooo not your typical Dom/sub book and you will be pleasantly surprised. Hunter can be described as the ultimate sexy and domineering GOD and Kat...hear me roar...is so witty, sexy, crass and strong who happens to be a Mistress herself only to be forced into serving a sentence of submission. Wonderful premise and a breath of fresh air. Kinky and sexy with an actual story to go along with it. Many unsuspecting truths are revealed only leaving the reader gasping and on edge for the next installment. GET THIS BOOK.

I'm pretty sure that I had a mini stroke from reading this. Also I may have had a few page-turning O's. WHEW!!! This story of Kat and Hunter lit a fire in my girly bits that isn't likely to extinguish anytime soon.

Wow!!! I definitely was not expecting that ending. I am very interested to see what happens next for Kat. I sure hope it involves her getting back with Hunter. They love each other, they should be together.

WOW!!!! I don't think I have ever read a book that has left me so on edge!!!! If there is a hotter Dom than Hunter please don't tell me. I will wait for the next book and dream of the beach and sand and Hunter!!!

I like the concept of this book; how Kat is a Mistress forced into being the bottom. It's hard for her to submit to a man when she's always had control, but Hunter is a different story. He awakens something in her. There were some twists and turns, especially at the end. It was an alright book.

This Book was good. I will admit at first I was not sure if I was going to make it past even the first chapter, However I am glad the more I got into the book the more I did not want the book to end. For once I found myself pacing myself so I would not finish the book to fast.
The Book starts off with the main character Mistress Kat in a scene with a male sub. The biggest reason why I almost did not continue the book. But you know the saying never judge a book by its cover? Well I have a confession. I do sometimes and in this case I did. The title alone is what caught my attention on amazon and so I went with a sample to get a fill for it by the end of the sample I was wanting more for sure.
So like I said the book starts out with Mistress Kat (Katie) in a scene with a male Sub. She is very demanding and is pushing Thomas ( the sub ) to his breaking point, to the point he calls the safe word. Now just on the first page alone you can tell there is something wrong with Kat. But what is it? And that my dear friend, is what kept me wanting to know what was going on with Mistress Kat. As the chapter comes to an end we find out that Kat is living in like some sort of house where people come to have sex. As Kat is cleaning up her room from the scene, Sailor walks in. Now it took me a little to find out what Sailors part was in the book but it was clear he had an authoritative role. He had told Kat she had to stop running and scaring the clients off. Kat told him to go away that it was not his place to get into. well the next thing is Kat is being taken in for a judgment and there is a few people at a table in a room and Sailor tells Kat she is being to hard and so her punishment is that she has to become a submissive at the palace ( another place people go to have bdsm sex) for 30 days. Kat immediately starts yelling saying no way I don't submit to no one. Well as for that she also found out that she would only be submitting to only one person Master Hunter. Now Master Hunter is known for being the toughest master in the county, and can break anyone down to nothing. As Kat was protesting she got up and stormed out of the room down to her own and a few moments later Sailor followed suit. He told her she would leave at 8 am in the morning. She smarted off. Crawling in bed Sailor followed her and pulled her close to him. This is where it seemed to confuse me a little. What kind of relationship did they have going on? As Kat was falling asleep thought were going through her mind. Who is going to sleep with me at night? I can't sleep alone, I will have nightmares. So Kat wakes the next morning to Sailor talking to some one at the bedroom door (Hunter) Kat than smarts off for a few but eventually leaves with Hunter for 30 days.
Hunter as described in the book is our HOT, SEXY,BUILT, IN EVERY WOMANS DREAMS GUY! He immediately starts his work telling Kat there are rules and so forth and as always Kat smarts off. At this point I have found Kat is hiding something that she wants no one to find out at all . Kat runs away as Hunter finds her he tells her that there is rules and she will follow them. He continues to ask her what her limits are and she says "I have no limits" "everyone has limits Kat" Hunter says. This type of attitude goes on with them for most of the book, Kat seems to be very bossy and mean like she is filled with lots of hatred which is in a way why she is a Mistress and good at it. However she has a hard time submitting.
In the end she wants nothing more than to have the pain taken away and after she is torn to pieces by the one true friend she thought she had, she now knows what she has to do. She ends up going to the few people she has been avoiding the whole book and that is how the story is ended.
I can not wait for the next book to come out. I am not 100% sure on when it will but once I do I will post and let you know

Story line I give a 5 star rating I loved the plot and how it kept me guessing what's going to happened next. One thing I did not like however is the way that her main secret was kept from us for so long but at the same time I think that helped add to the suspense. like I said five stars and cant wait for the next book

I know I am going to be in the minority with this review but I really, really did not care for this story.
Kat was sent to Hunter because she was out of control. She was injuring her submissives and not listening to their safeword. I consider those things serious infractions but no one seemed to be all that interested in that damage she was doing to others - only in the fact that she was emotionally damaged.
Hunter was supposed to take her in hand but Kat wasn't interested in submitting to him. She stayed because Sailor wanted her to stay but even that confused me. Kat didn't give a rats behind about what anyone else wanted in the rest of the book so why did what Sailor wanted hold any sway with her?
Hunter tries to influence her to submit but their interaction is like reading about a spoiled child with a parent who has no control.
Hunter: "Stop, Kat. I mean it! Stop it now. If you don't stop you are gonna be in so much trouble!"
Kat: (wanders off and does whatever the hell she wants and returns whenever she feel like it.)
Hunter: Sigh. Why don't you listen to me? Oh well. Let's **ck.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
I kept hoping Kat would change but she remained unlikable, rude and self-centered through the entire story. The rest of the cast of characters bowed down to whatever she wanted including helping her to damage another person's car for revenge. WTF? Everyone was completely dysfunctional, it is no wonder Kat couldn't get her head on straight. The book hints that Kat submits to Hunter but if she did I must have missed it. She jumps into the arms of any man or woman who happens to be convenient. Kat only does what pleases her. She was never interested in pleasing a Master.
The ending, well, that went about like the rest of the book. I pretty much knew how that was going to go.
If you want a story with people that aren't all TSTL - keep looking.
