4 stars I purchased the three book collection The Wedding Series by Patricia McLinn and Prelude to a Wedding was the first book. This review was given freely. This is a detailed full length novel of rebellion, love, and opposites attracting. The story starts out a little dry and slow featuring structured workaholic business owner Bette and unconventional, flighty, toy appraiser Paul. But, about a third of the way through the action, drama, and romance picks ups making this an emotional and complex read. 3 stars I purchased the three book collection The Wedding Series by Patricia McLinn and Wedding Party was book two. This review was given freely. This full length novel features one of Paul's best friends, Michael ,the chief aide-de-camp for long-shot United States Senate candidate Joan Bradon, and his unrequited love for Paul's cousin Tris. Tris had a college crush on Paul's other best friend, Grady. They all spend a week together at Paul's parent's house the week prior to Paul and Bette's wedding. Humor, dred, anticipation, surprise, and longing are just a few of the emotions you will experience. 4 stars I purchased a copy of Grady's Wedding by Patricia McLinn in the three book series the Wedding Series. This review is given freely. Grady has become dissatisfied with being a player and sets his sights on Tris' co worker, Leslie. Broken childhoods, Maryland and Virginia history, caring interfering friends, learning to love, share feelings, trusting, sterility, adoption, and unconventional families are just a few of the topics in this poignant full length novel with a happy ending. I loved seeing the changes in Grady, Leslie and April.
This trio of stories about 3 best friends and how they learned to change and grow for the women they are meant to marry is beautifully written with an understanding of how we humans sometimes undermine our own happiness. The title tells us there are three happy endings but that doesn't always seem like a foregone conclusion as we experience life from the unforgettable characters points of view. A very satisfying read.
I got this set from ebook Discovery in exchange for an honest review. Three linked stories of contemporary romance, each of which could be read as a standalone book. Nice stories, but they seemed to go on and on because of a new road block to the romance in each story.
Each story is a read in its self. Loved each one and found it hard to put down. Paul, Michael and Grady give different view's to different men. Enjoyed.
Boxed set of three books, about friends from way back who find happiness after overcoming various obstacles. Definitely worth reading, the protagonists are realistic, as are their problems with relationships, based on events during their, as they say, formative years. There were quite a few elements of humour, witty dialogues and and overall good narration style. For me personally, the problems, the drama, was too drawn out, especially in the second set. All in all though, I wouldn't mind reading the remaining books in this series.
Three guys stories toward their relationship to marriage. The first one Paul is just a big kid. His job is appraising toys. He meets Bette who owns a temp agency. He falls for her but she puts up a fight. She makes him work to get her. The second one is about Michael and Tris. They have know each other for years but she had a crush on Grady. Michael has loved her for a long time but for Tris it is just friendship. The third one is Grady and Leslie. She works with Tris. They both have had rough pasts but he falls first. All three of these books are so wonderful because the women are the ones in control. The emotions in each are so wonderful and all the couple's are intertwined. Love this set. Cute stories.
i liked this series. Grady was my favorite cause we really got to watch him grow and that growth brought forth some good lessons.
I was kind of wondering when this book was published as I was reading it. . . no cell phones it seems. . . landline phones and calling cards. . . road maps instead of GPS. :) Lol. Seemed a bit strange given this day and age.
There was a lot to like, the writing was good, and lots of character development, sexy without being in your face about it.
However, the recurring theme of not knowing yourself therefore pushing the other person away was pretty redundant when you read it as box set. I really liked the characters, even if a bit simplistic.
Loved it. I never heard of this author until I was browsing through the kindle store, read the summary and then I bought it. I love romance stories and this was everything I hoped it would be. I would definitely recommend to those who love to read romance. Definitely worth five stars.
I am absolutely in love with this series! The characters are warm and inviting. This boxed set is easy to locate on my Kindle and keeps the story going. They can each be read as standalone stories. The covers are eye-catching and give a sense of warmth you will continue to find inside.
If you love romance these books are perfect. Great believe able characters, life lessons, true friendships, and an understanding of the differences, between young love and mature adult love. Good author.
I love a sweet romance and this one was wonderful. I enjoyed the different characters, their stories, and how they overcome obstacles to find love and their happy ending.
Thoroughly enjoyed Prelude to Wedding, Wedding Party and Grady's wedding. I glad they were included as a boxed set. Each one tells the story of friends and the women who became their wives. Each is a stand alone book, but the people are interactive.
Kindle freebie. I liked these stories of people growing and changing their lives to make a forever commitment. There are bedroom scenes that can be skipped without losing any plot and no swear words.
Great depth of characters and complications of plot. As a reader, I learned to love the reluctant and the eager as they surprised themselves falling in love. A very nice, long read.

Each story is a read in its self. Loved each one and found it hard to put down. Paul, Michael and Grady give different view's to different men. Enjoyed.
