Dr. Charles F. Stanley is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta, founder of In Touch Ministries, and a New York Times best-selling author who has written more than fifty books, and has sold more than nine million copies. He demonstrates a keen awareness of people's needs and provides Christ-centered, biblically-based principles for everyday life.

Charles Frazier Stanley was born September 25, 1932, in the small town of Dry Fork, Virginia. The only child of Charley and Rebecca Stanley, Charles came into the world during a time when the entire nation felt the grip of the Great Depression. To make matters worse, just nine months later, his father Charley died at the young age of 29.

However, Charles refused to let the Great Depression or the difficulties of his life define him. Instead, like his father and grandfather before him, he clung to God’s Word and took up the mantle to preach the gospel to whoever would listen.

Dr. Stanley’s motivation is best represented by the truth found in Acts 20:24, “Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love.” This is because, as he says, “It is the Word of God and the work of God that changes people’s lives.”

Dr. Stanley’s teachings can be heard weekly at First Baptist Church Atlanta, daily on “In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley” radio and television broadcasts on more than 2,800 stations around the world, on the Internet at intouch.org, through the In Touch Messenger, and in the monthly, award-winning In Touch magazine.

God is the solution

Dr. Charles ends this book writing about how the Lord was the solution to Daniel’s situation when he was in the lion’s pit. Daniel was there being punished for refusing to worship the king. He’d only worship the one true God.

Daniel was in what seemed like a no-win dilemma. But he held onto his faith in God. He wrote that the lions used in this style of punishment were usually starved in advance so they would immediately strike down & devour their prey. These animals that were trained to viciously kill did no harm to Daniel because he KNEW God was the solution to his problem.

We too should look to the Lord anytime problems or challenges happen in our lives. Regardless of how big the problem is our Lord is bigger & more powerful.

This is a good & encouraging book.

An inspiration, Uplifting

This is the best book I've read by Charles Stanley yet. Still there are parts I had trouble understanding due to poor grammar and sentence structure.

Stanley writes about God's timing and other ways we need to depend on God, because that is what it takes, a full dependence on God and not ourselves or others. Stanley spells that out toward the end of this book.

I put this book down during a time I gave up, yet Stanley writes "When You Are Tempted to Give Up -- Don't!" His inspiration from God got me going after I picked up the book again. This book is very spiritually uplifting.

Much Wisdom

Dr. Stanley gives us great principles on how to receive God's help in every area of our lives. We have a loving God that wants to help us and Dr. Stanley biblically confirms Gods ways to defeat the plans of Satan, principles that will keep us out of the brokeness and bondage that our problems can cause. As always Dr. Stanley writes with truth and bible based knowledge.

I was surprised to see the high average rate for this book"How to Let God Solve Your Problems,' as I was not that impressed by this book. I felt rather bored while reading the book, since the same messages were repeated so many times.

I have not learned much something new from this book, but there are some lines I liked as below.

The storms of life reveal the depth of our convictions.

Wait for God's Timing.

Prayers change the Way We View Our Problems.

Once you have learned to trust God in prayer, the next step is to shift your prayers from being problem-centered to God-centered.

Good book

Dr. Charles Stanley teaches how to overcome the adversities we face, draw near to God and find our way forward beyond the circumstances that may be directly before us.

Overall, the book is well written, spiritually sound, and grounded in wisdom. I believe it would be better with a few more choice stories to breathe life into the message being communicated. Further, I think there should be greater clarification between surrendering to God versus confronting the issues we are facing.

But, overall, a very deep and thought provoking book that will inspire you to draw near to God, bear his voice and respond in simple obedience to his voice.

This was an excellent read! It wasn't necessarily a book on, "Follow these 12 keys and your life will be problem-free" but rather an exposition on how to Biblically deal with the problems we all will and DO face. There were many Biblical examples and passages used (not KJV, which I prefer) as well as solid, practical advice. I greatly enjoyed this read and copied down at least thirty quotes!

I'm not sure the title is really indicative of the book itself. I would call it "What do you mean, my life isn't falling apart?!?" But Mr. Stanley and I don't always agree. There were a few moments when his worldview and mine clashed, but he did an admirable job of sticking to scriptural advice, with minimal editorializing.

I have read several of Charles Stanley’s books, and I found this one to be very helpful. Dr. Stanley is a serious follower of Christ, and he shows us how to use God’s Word as our ultimate guide. If you are a practicing Christian, or if you are a seeker looking for answers, I think you will like this book.

easy, encouraging read

This book was an incredible encouragement to me. If you’ve been a Christian a while it’s nothing partially earth shattering, but certainly filled with nuggets of well written, well thought out wisdom that is always good to be reminded of. Definitely worth your time.

Excellent

Really helpful in seeing things from God's perspective. Shows what our part is in allowing Him to be in total control, to effect the best possible outcome - every time. All i can say is, it works. It sure helps with the pain, when you understand what's going on and why. Highly recommend it.

Listened to this as an audio-book on Hoopla & although the narrator was fine, I wish that Charles Stanley had been the narrator of his own book, prior to his death. ~ xo ~ The content contains solid Christian counsel which is both helpful & comforting. Emphasis is placed on the importance of submission & of turning our lives over to God. Recommended.

A short book, full of great advice. However, although it was worth reading, I did not find myself picking it up very often to finish it. I enjoy Dr. Stanley's books, but this one was a bit dull and seemed to repeat itself frequently.

We have the choice to become bitter or to grow stronger in our faith, taken from page 101. This sums up the entire book. Recommend as a gift to someone in good spirits to arm themselves in times of trouble.

Only God can solve all problems

It was like listening to Charles Stanley teaching and talking about Gods ability to solve problems. They were often backed up with the scripture. If you read the scriptures along with the book it make a stronger memory and better understanding.

I liked it and there was good information in here but it was very repetitive. It could have been half the length and not had anything left out. Still worth reading.
