I have read the other books in this series last year and they are like watching a train wreck happen and you can't turn away.

I was getting so frustrated with Riley in the last couple of stories and with this one I wanted to rip his hair out. I have to admit I was quite shocked with the ending but yet pleasantly surprised and now I have to wait to find out what happens next. Argh!

I like all the other past characters and the new ones like Mike and Kip. I feel that Kip and Jamie's story line went at warp speed but I still like them together and I wasn't sure how I was going to feel with Mike's poaching but I like him and Connor together better than Riley but who knows now how it is going to all play out.

These books are well written (plot, story line, flow). However, I have NEVER read 4 books that had so many mistakes in them! At times I had to try & figure out who the character was or go back & reread because the wrong name had been used. Did the author not go back & read her book before she put it online? Did somebody drop the ball & forget to proof these books? I did not read them as individual books, I bout them as a "box" setso I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not. I understand that self published or an authors first books are bound to have some mistakes, and that's ok, but these books were way over the top! All anyone had to do is reread the books before putting them out & they could have easily fix 99% of all the mistakes! Not very hard to do & makes the author look better & readers more willing to read your books! Since I'm bitching I will also say I really did like these books & where all the stories were headed. I liked the characters & sub plots, the flow & energy. What I didn't like was the instant I love you's(except for Gresh & Lane who had loved from afar for years) a little more time together makes it more real. Thinking it & saying it are two different things. And a personal irritation is when writers say men giggle! OHH it drives me crazy!!! I think only girls or women giggle, men chuckle don't they? IDK, it just seems so cheesy to have a man giggle! Unless he's very feminine , then maybe it's ok. I also cringe when you have a character who is ruff, tough, hard edged & the minute he figures out he's in love or gay that shouldn't change his general characteristics. He doesn't become a soft, giggling, bawl baby of a man!!!!! Lane is my example of this. He starts out as a hardworking, tough, edgy guy & the next thing we know he's giggling, weepy & practically limp wrist-ed! REALLY? Come on, can't he still be the same guy but just one who realizes he can be gay, love his man & still be ruff, tough & hard edged? The same thing happens with Sterling. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it seems wrong to change a guy from hard & edgy to soft & weepy. I get that finding out who you are or finding someone who loves you for you is freeing but I don't see it changing who you are as a person, your traits.
So, I guess what I want to say is:
1. These books have great possibilities! Fun characters, a great story with many twist a turns, it's fast paced & keeps your interest.
2. The author HAS to either find an editor, or proof read BEFORE she puts her stories on line! There is NO excuse for a book that is being sold to have so many mistakes & screw ups in it. If your going to put it out without fixing the mistakes it better be for free or put a notice on it that tells me it has not been proofed or edited & then I can decide if I want to chance it or not!
It's your reputation Ms. York that is on the line no one Else's! So, it's up to you to make sure your books are edited, proofed or in the exact way that you want them to be before they ever hit the shelves or the virtual shelves if they are to be sold as ebooks!
3. Men who are ruff, tough & hard edged don't (usually) become soft, giggly, & weepy.Just my personal opinion :)

Another great book in this series by author Sara York. Story picked up right where it left off in Texas Branded and I've been dying to find out what happens with Lane and Gresh as well as Riley and Connor. I heard that changes were coming so my mind started spinning all sorts of scenarios LOL. I really enjoyed how this story played out for these four characters and the shocking ending left me wanting more as usual. Jamie, the ranch's foreman, met Kip, Gresh's old college buddy, and immediate sparks flew when they looked at each other. Jamie tries to deny his attraction to a man, albeit unsuccessfully, as he insists that he's not gay. However, one touch and kiss from Kip and Jamie can no longer resist. The sex was smoking hot between them and I was glad that they were able to forge a relationship together. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

Good God when it rained it poured. It seemed like this book was one bad thing happening after another. Holy hell the sex was awesome though. I couldn't stand Riley so I wasn't that upset at the ending.

Overcoming internalized homophobia and society's expectations can be difficult. This is Jamie's problem when Kip arrives at the ranch and can't take his eyes off the red head. Jamie has always believed he was straight, that's just how it was meant to be, that's what he's been taught from childhood, but he's also always had a thing for men. Kip's arrival at the ranch is timely with Gresh lying unconscious in the hospital with Lane by his side after the helicopter crash that killed his father. Jump is new to all of this and unsure what to do with his biological father now dead and his half brother unable to make decisions; it's now up to him. Riley is still trying to get Lane away from Gresh and Connor is trying to figure out if it's worth trying to save his relationship with Riley. Overall a very complicated and compelling story as these men try to sort through their lives and where and with whom they stand. Another cliffhanger ending. I'm hoping that the other books in this series will be re-released in epub format soon.

Note: This review is for the series and as such, does not contain a lot of detail about the plot because it would be way too spoilerish! If you want to know more about the specifics of each book, check out the blurbs.

The Texas Soul series consists of six books which I pretty much read back to back.

The series starts with Texas Rough which focuses on one couple, Lane and Gresham, and is largely set on Gresh's family ranch where Lane is the foreman. It also introduces another main character, Riley, who falls hard and fast for Lane. This first book is fast moving with lots of multiple storylines. There are themes of coming out and comfort/hurt with large amounts of drama and even larger amounts of sex!

The second book, Texas Hard, focuses more on Riley as he deals with his feelings for Lane but meets and falls for Connor who is a Texas Ranger. This story brings in some elements of bondage as Riley takes a more dominant role in his relationship with Connor. Falling in love happens so quickly, as in the first book, that it is hard to believe that Riley really knows his own heart and it is amazing how open these men are in discussing their feelings! Once again, lots of drama, largely driven by insane amounts of jealousy as the story and relationships get complicated. I liked the story but did find the edition of the book I was reading had some annoying editing/spelling issues. There was also reference to speaking "Brazilian" in Brazil. I thought they spoke Portuguese.

Texas Twist sees things get even more complicated. We are introduced to a new romance as Connor's Texas Ranger partner moves to the ranch to recover from the trauma of his abduction. He falls for Sterling, one of the ranch hands. Sterling finally acknowledges he may be gay as he has such as strong reaction to Erick. The believability is a bit lacking as his actions dont seem those of a relucant gay man. He is pretty physical with Erick, demonstrative and once again discussing feelings. This new relationship is not the primary focus of the book. The Lane/Gresh/Riley/Connor relationship plays a really key role in this book.

The soap opera feel continues as Jung-Hwa "Jump" joins the story in Texas Branded. Jump comes to the ranch in search of his father. He not only finds family but finds love with the local deputy. The love in the story is sweet and gushy with poetic language and once again this couple are very open with their emotions, articulating their feelings for each other. The relationship development also continues the theme of fast, fast, fast - love and proposals all happening really quickly. The relationships of all the previous couples continue to weave in and out of the book and things really ramp up with a cliffhanger ending! Luckily I didn't have to wait and could launch into the next book straight away. If I'd read this book when it was first released and had to wait for the next book I would have been really annoyed as I don't have the patience for this kind of thing!

Texas Desire is the fifth book in the series and the drama hit new heights. Lots of heartbreak and angst, hospitals and deathbeds, emotional declarations, rejection, pain and loss. The new couple, Kip and Jamie, play a role but largely take a backseat to the more emotional story line being played out between the original four characters.

And finally, Texas Legacy concludes the story. Once again, there is very much a soap opera feel to the story with the overlapping stories of each of the characters. There is lots of heartbreak but also happiness as new love is found and families started. It was nice to see the final conclusion and know what happens to each of the couples. The epilogue jumps ahead ten years and provides closure. My main issue with this final book was the resolution of the story line introduced in the prologue. The prologue deals with the previously unknown and unrelated Wild Bluff Ranch and then the character from the prologue turns up later in the book in a relatively stand alone fashion with a story line that is unresolved. I now understand from the author's blog that this will be a spin off series but when I first ended the book the inclusion of the story line seemed a complete mystery to me.

So overall I actually enjoyed the series. It was pure escapism and really over the top at times. I have mentioned a soap opera feel but I think I must have been in the mood for reading something like this and I quite enjoyed the drama, the romance and the complications. Probably my main complaint (not that it is really a complaint as such) was that it was too full of sex. There seemed to be sex on every second page! The guys just seemed to alternate between sharing deep emotions and then doing each other.

I was also totally impressed with the price point, each book in the series only being $0.99 from Amazon.

3.5 stars for the series

Oh my god

This book is heart wrenching. Watching the love of your life fighting to stay alive. A man who is in love with you pulling you in different directions. The loss the love. This book had it all and I was on tender hooks the whole way through.

Wow I forgot how much impact this one made in the series. Can’t say I mind the ending. Just wish that Conner didn’t have to see it. Looks like the next one is going to have a little Colorado in it.

Gresh is on his deathbed. Lane’s world has crashed down around him and he has to make decisions. Jump is trying to take care of arrangements and Hamilton’s business. Jamie has stepped in and is trying to run the ranch very shorthanded without, Lane, Gresh, or Jump to help. Kip is a new man that shows up an old friend of Gresh’s to help and with secrets of his own.
This is the fifth book of the series and each just gets better and better. This one has so much going on but it isn’t overwhelming. Not only is all the above going on but we also have Riley still very much in love with Lane and also thinking now he may have a chance, then Connor dealing with his insecurities knowing he may lose Connor and dealing with his loss with Gresh as well. Plus his coworker is really putting the make on him If all this isn’t enough we have the mystery that Kip brings plus another tragedy at the ranch. Oh yeah lots of excitement and still plenty of hot mansex. It is pretty sad with the tragedies going on but the new love interests and Lane’s never dying love and dilemma of his feelings of Riley pick it up with the sigh-worthiness of it all. I am anxiously counting the days till may and the next one!!
Recommendations: If you love modern day westerns, Hot ranch hands, suspense, and super -hot mansex you will love this one.

The entire Texas Soul series, by Sara York, is amazing!!! It's the first mm series I ever read and it will always remain one of my all time favorite series.

The series starts with Book One - Texas Rough, where we get to watch Lane and Gresh fall in love. And, I have no words to explain how much I love these two men!

Gresh is the rich and powerful ranch owner, who never expected to fall in love with his foreman, Lane. But fall he does. And hard. He has to fight off the town's new doctor though, as Riley also has his eyes on Lane.

This book is perfect! It completely sucked me in and I had to read the whole series within a couple of days. I could not get enough of these men. And, luckily, the series continues to take place on the ranch, so we continue to see Gresh and Lane in each book, both in and out of their bedroom. As well, each book adds new characters to the ranch, and we get to know them all well.

Rich ranch owner, ranch foreman, doctor, ranch hands, and more. This series has it all. Sex in the open, cowboys coming out, danger and more. There's injuries, jealousy, some swapping, and oh so much fun.

Sara York manages to deliver some extremely memorable and steamy scenes in each book, including one of my all time favorite sex scenes. Just a little fun with two couples swapping. Yummy!

Basically, if you haven't read this Sara York series, do so now!

Sara York does it again!!This is the latest book in the Texas Soul Series.A terrific series I might add that has been terrific since book #1.If you haven't read this series I don't know what you are waiting for. This latest book starts with the helicopter crash that was the cliffhanger from the last book.So the book back drop and back bone centers around Lane and Gresh's recovery. If he will recover and if he does how well will he recover. Will their love survive or will Lane be pulled away by Riley. This story introduces us to some new sexy characters with some of our familiar beloved characters falling in love with new people. It has so many twists and turns you never know for sure how things are going to go.This book answered many questions that were left unanswered in the previous book but also gave us more questions that need answers.I must say that the ending cliffhanger absolutely broke my heart. But as always I'm anxiously waiting the next book. You can't get a better book for only 99 cents.Yes, I said 99 cents.Sara York is an exceptionally talented writer who writes wonderful M/M love stories. Her characters are real hard working men who bow down to no one.

Although the conclusion of the book is a little convenient as a fix...much respect for going there.

When the big ending started, I was rolling my eyes...here comes the big bang...but I was expecting a cliffhanger, not what we got. The fact that the menage did not end with everyone skipping away whistling happily....was a good thing. I know we all want a HEA, but real life doesn't work that way. I was glad that it was addressed, that feelings could get hurt, and not everyone is going to come out smelling like roses. Also... convenient, especially with the addition of Mike, but unexpected. I liked that the author was willing to go there.

There was a lot going on in this book. All the stories have a bit of insta-love, Brian and Kip are no exception...might have even been in fast forward more than the other couples.

The book was entertaining, and after reading it, and having those 2 things happen, I have to like this series more.

OMG, where do i begin with this book, wish we had the option of more than 5 stars coz this book certainly deserves more. Wow, wow, wow I cannot believe where this book me talk about a roller coaster of emotions. I cried, screamed, stopped reading at some parts not wanting to know what happens next god talk about exhausting but in a good way. For the first two thirds of the book I really started to dislike Riley and I mean strongly dislike with a passion, and I'll not say anything more about it as i refuse to spoil things for those that haven't read this series yet.
I did not see this ending coming at all, not even a clue from the synopsis before embarking on this series and for that I'm really glad. All i will say is if you have not read the Texas Soul series yet, what the hell are you waiting for, a brilliant must have in your library for all lovers of m/m romance.

I was expecting some angst here with how the previous book in the series had ended. I guess I did cheat and read ahead to book 6 to see what was happening.
We get an insight to several couples rather than just being focused on 1.
Lane and Gresh with Gresh in hospital.
Riley and Connor and the introduction of Mike.
Jump and Brian and then Kip and Jaime, who decided he was gay after all. We have the drame of Jaime's kidnapping. I think that maybe there was too much going on in this book for not a really long book.
The ending was a shock for me but I think it was a rather convenient conclusion for the situations that had been building in this installment.

This one just pissed me off... poor Riley. Suddenly - everyone's infidelity is suddenly his fault. Displacement much? I wasn't a fan of this foursome nightmare to begin with when it became the prevailing storyline since book 3 with someone else's love story as filler... (Seriously, do all cowboy's fall insta-love around in Texas?!?). However I stayed.. I pushed myself through all the books till now to see what was on the other side of the tunnel only to find... roadkill

GAH! This one made me a bit crazy. Connor and Riley both drove me nuts with their lack of communication and avoiding each other. Once again, I really like Jump and Bruce. The whole Kip/Jamie storyline was Ok but the Brian part was a little over the top. And I hated the ending, but of course I have to find out what affect it will have on everyone in the next book.

Note: There were quite a few editing issues with the last two books in this series - misspellings and homophones I can deal with, but the wrong character name bugs the crap out of me.

In addition to my bulk series review, I can only give this book 1 star.

Series review.

Some parts were better than others, and for a lot of this series I was cursing and wanting to throw my iPad, but I read the lot. I still can't believe I did (a wee bit of skimming involved - don't think i missed much). Like a train crash—needed to see it all play out for some godforsaken reason. The end of book 5 had me so close to giving it a 1, for the lot, I was so cranky! But seeing as I was drawn along for the whole ride I will average it at 2. But it was JUST okay.

Book 5 of the series. Wow , intriguing ... Jaime and Kip story , along with the rest of the Crazy Hills ranch guys. Gresh is in a coma , Lane is suffering ...
Jaime is attracted to guys but has never act on it , until Kip. Kip is Gresh's friend that comes to help at the ranch. Many things are happening. Changes and decisions. Answers to many questions and another ending that is changing all. Looking forward to the book that will complete the series.

FINALLY SOME REAL EMOTION OUT OF THIS SERIES!!!! (Unfortunately, it did not come out of the love story of Kip and Jamie which again came off as fake and concocted as with every other book in this series so far.) I actually felt something for Lane and Gresh! Hallelujah! And quite frankly

Sara York fills Texas Desire with the good and the bad that can come from desires not understood. Kip comes to Crazy Hills Ranch to help during trying times, but Jamie is drawn to him even though he has never felt this before. The twist in everyone’s stories is gut wrenching, but it makes the Texas Soul series so much stronger.

Thanks Sara York & Good Writing
