It took me a little bit to get going on this, but once I made it past the first few pages I was hooked. The prose borders on poetry, but surprisingly only added to the story for me (I'm not a fan of poetry). O'Brien has crafted a life-like world and a character that resonated with me. I was not ready to walk away when the novel ended!
