Rate this book
Sadie Zook and Abram Byler have begun a tentative and sweet new relationship. They write to each other in a secret journal, and they take walks after church services. Sadie's humble, yet observant nature makes Abram think about his life and his faith differently, yet they are always true to the Plain lifestyle. Everything is going well, but Abram's mother, Ruth, is not pleased.

Ruth Byler believes that Sadie is worldly and wicked, and Ruth will stop at nothing to tear Abram and Sadie apart. Will Abram and Sadie's new relationship be able to withstand Ruth's attacks? Will Abram's new perspective affect his relationship with his parents? Will Ruth be forced to reveal the secrets she has kept for so many years? Will a sign from God change everything?

Plain Trouble continues the The Diary: Lines from Lancaster County Saga begun in Plain Living. See what God has in store for Sadie and Abram.

Sadie likes Abram but with writing her thoughts in a journal the Plain people may not like it.
Abram worked for Sadie's dad doing woodwork. Sadie worked for her dad too, so she saw him at work.
Abram's parents found the journal and were afraid he would be led away from their ways. They talked to Sadie's parents.
Abram was torn, but more things happened. Could he do any different what what he decided?

Even though it is hard to write a good review of a novella, due to the short length, this was a very heart warming story. This book was sweet, sad and I did not want it to end. I loved the Christian values this book gives you. Even though there were quite a few typos, this does not necessarily reflect on the author. As spell check on cell phones "work", it also does the same on computers.
