In the final installment of the everafter series, Valentine Darrow and Alexa Newland work to rebuild their relationship even as they find themselves at the heart of the struggle that will determine a new world order for vampires and wereshifters. To survive, they must defeat the growing threat posed by Balthasar Brenner, who has been a thorn in the side of the vampire-wereshifter Consortium for centuries.

The search for Brenner leads Val and Alexa deep into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, where they must confront Brenner's forces and either secure peace between the paranormal races, or die in the attempt.

I often avoid series because one often needs to read them in order, anticipate the next book and become attached to the characters so much that you dread reaching the end.
Right now, i feel a loss. I feel there are a lot of potentials for this series to ride on but putting aside my feelings I'd like to applaud the writers. They have given us readers a gift. This book was just as action filled with a lot of canoodling....the latter got me eye rolling but forgivable.

This was incredibly boring. The action was terribly written and frequently interrupted with how much Val and Alexa wanted to fuck. I swear to god they're extra horny this book, there's at least one line about how much one wants to fuck the other every page, despite werewolf hitler running about trying to destroy the entire vampire species. They constantly whined about how little time they had the fuck and yet there were more sex scenes in this book than all of the others combined (and don't get me started on the sex scenes themselves. They're all the same to the point if I cared enough to check I'm pretty sure there would be near copy-paste identical paragraphs). The book never manages to convey the supposed danger everyone is in. It's hard to care about characters dying when they had like 3 lines in total for 4 books (not to mention one of them is literally introduced in this book?? am I SUPPOSED TO CARE THAT SHE'S IN DANGER). The whole book I felt like the author(s) just wanted the action to be over with so they could write erotica. In which case they should have just done that. The plot is also resolved in a stupid way, in like one page.

So, the first two books in the series are good. Especially the second. But as a whole it's not worth it.

This is my fourth book from Nell Stark and the fourth in the series Everafter.

I have gotten used to the time jumps in the beginning and being thrust into a plot so I knew what to expect. I did like the how everything finally came to a conclusion in this book and enjoyed the romance between both Valentine and Alexa. I do think the story has fallen off a bit after the first book. Still recommended for anyone who loves paranormal romance.
➢Happy reading!

It was just so predictable.

Alexa was the only one I liked and the relationships and story had so much potential but it never got there.

Romance was like so bad, it started strong and just stayed constantly dull throughout the series, was boring tbh.

As this series progressed, it became more action centred which is not for me.

This was a wonderful ending to the series. It was suspenseful and rapped up a lot of the lose ends that I didn't like in the last book.

And now the final book in the series has been read and completed. Four books by Nell Stark and Trinity Tam. Two for Nell Stark by herself.

This book picks up before the prior one even ends. The prior book ended with a gunshot. This one picks up before that gun was fired. This book opens during the planning stages for a raid that will involve the shifter and vampire alliance against Balthasar Brenner’s group. (A raid that the prior book ended on).

The first 42% follows the point of view of Alexa, the werepanther. After which the book follows Valentine, the vampire. Most of the people from the prior book return, including Solana, Helen, Malcolm, Constantine, Olivia, Karma, both Brenners (Balthasar and his son Sebastian), and of course Alexa and Valentine. New people popped up in this one, but no new major character (well, there’s Tian, but her appearance is like a film that has, say, Sean Connery pop up in an Admirals uniform for three seconds to say something deeply meaningful in a film before poofing. Tian’s role was about on par with that, important, but cameo worthy). Both Olivia had Solana had their largest roles in the prior book, appeared in this one but slightly more than cameos.

The series and the long running fight between Balthasar Brenner against basically everyone has concluded. It was an enjoyable run while it lasted. But now it’s time for something else to occupy the brain.
