Fang's blog has brought ITEX and their cruel research to the world's attention, and his readers take a stand at the facility where Max and the girls are being held, shutting the organization down. But Max isn't through saving the world yet! When the Flock is asked to aid a group of environmental scientists studying the effects of global warming, the expedition seems like a perfect combination of adventure and activism. But even in Antarctica, Max is an irresistible target with the eyes of the world upon her. For whoever controls her powers could also control the world...
Discovered by Yen Press Senior Editor JuYoun Lee, NaRae was able to make her U.S. debut working on a series that already had legions of devoted fans. It's a lot to live up to, but NaRae proved to be up to the challenge by delivering artwork that looks remarkably polished for a relative newbie to the world of international manga publishing.
'Maximum Ride Vol. 7' centres mostly around the flock's trip to Antarctica where they have been recruited by a group of scientists to help them save the world. I really enjoyed this instalment as it also concentrated on Max's and Fang's adorable development of their relationship. I would often get really frustrated with Max as she would run away just when things between her and Fang would get good, often complicating matters. I also really admired Fang's persistence and patience of Max. He really is a good fella! Congratulations to James Patterson on having the SEVENTH instalment of his manga series published!
Slightly better than volume 6, but not much. I think the problem is things are getting *too* fast paced. We're given some new "shocking" revelation, then the very next page something completely different is happening. There's no time for each revelation to really settle and have an impact. Also, was the first chapter supposed to be the finale to the whole ITEX arc? It's super unclear. There wasn't even a huge battle. All that happened is some kids showed up and threw rocks at ITEX employees, and Max threatened to kill her fake mom. And then the Flock is off to Antarctica to fight global warming...? Where did that even come from??
Ok I just want the best for the flock. I’ve seen some reviews as to why they are the way they are… but they’re licherally young children and teenagers. The chibi styled pages are my fav. Also in this volume there are a lot of Easter eggs :’-)
A minor character in the story is Dr. Martinez that was a found out to be Max mom. They went to meet a couple of people from the government to find out if there could be some type of protection that could be granted so Max mom thought it was a good idea to just see and it was not the best decision because it was just like the imprisonment school that the mutants just escaped. But Dr. Martinez recommends them to a mission, and the mission was to help scientist figure out global warming near Argentina and passing Buenos aires, the mission turns out to be a wrong move that sets up the plot for the next book.
I think Maximum Ride Vol.7 is a really good book because is has some really funny moments. I feel like they should have made the book longer because it was really good. I chose this book because the past books were really good. The flock helps with a rescue mission to save the world from global warming. I think people who like the Maximum Ride series should read this book.
everyone is discovering they have new powers but it seems like max hasn't. they are on a trip and i think the people they are on the ship with are evil but im not sure
ok So..... This was crap. Love the art. Love max. Love the idea of crazy scientists trying to drestroy the world & experimenting on kids. Liked the beginning with the government people sit down n the big fight n the funeral.
But this volume just fell flat.
Not even that. It fell right off a cliff bomb & dive bombed into an explosion.
The over all plot of the series, taking down the school & stopping the crazy scientists from destroying the world & killing all the normal people, is greet. But now it's gone completely off track. Its climbed on this high and mighty soapbox about how adult are destroying everything & we have to save the world by informing everyone & being green. -_- seriously!? I get that global warming is a serious issue. But if there is a crazy, fucked up world wide cooperation bent on killing less impressive people & experimenting on kids, taking them down should be a lot more fucking important than saving penguins.
& it's so freaky Mary Sue that each kid is getting crazy new powers.
Not sure if I really want next book or not. Maybe I'll just read it in the store.
The flock is back and they find a new purpose for their ever increasing set of abilities. Having only read the first of the James Paterson series so far I can find myself enjoying the manga and (eventually) when I read the normal books I can remember these illustrations and fill the gaps.
I find the artwork for the series fantastic being able to show a wide range of style from cute to downright scary. In this volume my favorite part was at the beginning of chapter 44 when the pages were colored just in time to see the Aurora Borealis and making me wonder if it was drawn or if the artist just used a computer to add the effect in.
Ok. I'm still liking this. But I had a really big problem with this one. It's a component that is in the original books as well. EXTREME tree-huggers. Like, I'm talking extreme. Yes, I know that we need to take care of this earth that God has given us(Not that they used God in any parts of this book) BUT, really? All grown-ups are bad? its all their fault? REALLY? When I ignore those annoying bits(Which Spanned the whole flipping book) I liked this one.
A continuation of what i consider a bit of a silly arc, but by the end it turns around to a pleasant story which becomes a lot better in the next volume.
The book that i read was maximum ride volume 7. The author of this book is james patterson, and genre of this book is fiction. This book is mainly about judging a book by its cover, because if you look at the cover of this book you would probably think it isn’t a good book but it actually is a pretty good book.
The beginning of the book was mainly about everybody reading fang's blog and turning against itex, and everybody going against itex to save the world. The middle of the book was mainly about deciding where the flock and whether or not they would split up because they already saved the world. The end of the book was mainly about them meeting these people on a ship and they stay with them for a while because they like them, so the end is about them staying with them.
Some of my favorite things of the book was the description of everything, because like it helps you understand what is happening and it helps you like imagine what is happening in the story at all times. I also liked how the author makes the story always interesting so you never get bored of it like it helps you understand it and know what is happening in the book. I didn't really like how the author never fully went into everything like the author could have explained everything one step farther, and it would of made the book even better. This also would have helped with visualizing what is happening in the book at all times.
I think this was a really good book and I think this would be a good book to read. I gave this book a four because I think this is a really good book and it was very well written. I didn’t give this book a five because the author could have went into everything more to make it easier to understand and visualize which is why I did not give this book five stars.
The last couple of volumes have made me lose faith in Patterson's writing, but have only made me love NaRae more. Her art and humor is wonderful. The plot on the other hand, is all over the place, and pretty obvious that the author was making it up as he went along. No solid series outline or ultimate vision for Maximum Ride I guess. He keeps establishing things and then immediately revoking them. But the longer the series goes on, the more NaRae’s personality and flavor shines through in the presentation of the writing, and I love it. I will definitely be continuing with the series, even if the plot is a bit helter-skelter.
Maximum Ride vol.7 by James Patterson, is about a the saving of a crazy scientist. But as expected, Max (Main Character) she was set free from the turning on the people who used to support ITEX. She was soon reunited with her family (Mom) and her flock. they were testing there abilities and powers one of them (Nudge) found out that she had telekinesis. The flock soon set off with the government to find lost or hidden things from ITEX. Even where they came from. Max was being tracked for being so powerful and strong so many people wanted to kill her. later in a new lab that wasn't owned by ITEX, was safe until Gasman (flock member) opened a pizza box and with a time bomb on it, the pizza exploded and destroyed the building (nobody got hurt). after that, they set a flying trip to meet max's mom again. during that time they went on a plane to Argentinian all the way to Antarctica. there new adventure began, and Max had to save the world in Antarctica too!
In this maximum ride it is the 7th volume and in this one they go all around the world chasing storms and climate changes to fix global warming. They go exotic places like argentina and san diego to find out the causes of the global warming. The industry called itex was the main reason for the global warming. It had big industries everywhere and they were producing a lot of pollution because of the smoke that has been rising from the clouds at the time, so the headquarters of the itex industries is in antarctica and that's where they go to figure this out. They have a big meeting but then it is interrupted because people that wanted to kidnap max and her gang was there because they wanted to sell them for money. Then that's where the next volume of the maximum ride comes in.
So... Max. She is a bird mutant who is supposed to save the world. From what? And how? Could it be from the very doable dismantling of ITEX, the company who has been stealing children to make superheros? Or is it possible there is some other agency who has the sinister plan of taking over the world? Which she could also dismantle. It could even be probable that something supernatural is going to show up and put these mutant kids powers to use! ... Nope!
The flock is changing. Some of the kids are getting new powers. Fang's blog is going wild. people are getting on board, the word's getting out. Fang has called for people to take a stand, to become active in taking charge of their lives. To make the world what they want it to be....the followers are growing.Dr. Martinez and Jeb have the kids heading to Antarctica where hopefully they can do some good to save the planet from climate change. The scientists want to learn from the flock but they also respect them which is not normally the case. The flock is learning about climate change and what can be done to stop it.
Why did you have to hurt my heart with Ari’s story?! But moving on from the Itex story arc, the flock is now in a different pickle of trying to find their place in the world, and discovering new powers along the way. To Antarctica. To gather data on global warming.
Hurray for more politically charged, overly obvious, ‘humans are awful’ speeches. Yes it’s important, but I’m tired of hearing about it every time I turn around.
This series is based on the James Patterson novel series Maximum Ride.
This is a good one! The last two volumes were a little rough for me because I'm nota huge fan of the book they're based off of. However, Volume 7 is based off part of the Max Ride series that I enjoyed more than the others. Although I find the global warming thing to be just a bit pushy, I like that's it's less crazy and overly dramatic than the others. But this isn't quite a review of the source material. NaRae Lee just continues to impress with how absolutely beautifully she draws. I love her character design and how she presents the story she's provided with.
The story is getting more and more interesting and the kids are growing up, even mutating. They’re on their way to save the world from Itex (what remains of it) and possibly safer than they were since the beginning.
I like that Max is part Hispanic! It’s a good representation to all Hispanic teens to see how strong, independent, fierce and strong Max is! And she is never influenced by anyone as she follows her own way.
I know, I am an adult and I am supposed to be over reading Manga. But I do read it because I like it and the story lines which are found there. This is one of my favorites so far. I think this series takes an interesting story line and makes it a little spooky and there is quite a bit of conspiracy theory which seems to creep into the plot of this series. I had trouble waiting for this issue to finally get back into the library so I could borrow it.
Like always, very good illustrations. The plot and layout is good, again. But in 'Ari's Story' it says that the flock went to Disneyland. They do in the actual books but not in the manga version. Also, there are two meetings with the American government, not just one. Though it is cute, the kissing scene in the original book is on a dock not outside of the hotel. Minus these minor details, the book overall is pretty good. Would reread.

I am speechless from this book but I will try to think of something (bare with me). First, let me say... Ari what the heck! he confuses me so much! I thought he was good but now he's bad (I think) I don't understand!!! I have never seen something as awkward as Fang and Max. Everyone knows they love each other but they're haveing a tough time. I think they'll pull through!
