I started off loving the Raunchy series. I think the first one packed the most punch and then the second followed up to add to the storyline. The third one, though not a bad story, was just too much. As an author myself, I understand the need for subplots, scandal, OMG moments, and the like, however, I found that this book went from "OMG no she didnt" as the first two did, to "ugh, really?" There is no doubt in my mind that T. Styles is a good writer with a very active and creative imagination. That being said, there comes a point when enough is enough. There were too many scenes in this book that I just didnt care about.
I really enjoy character driven books versus plot driven books. To me, the Lonnie J character was thrown into the book as a plot device all so that Jayden could be shot. He served no other purpose. His daughter received AIDs from him for no other purpose... He had sex with Harmony for no other purpose. It was all so that the book could end with Jayden being shot. That's it. Because other than that, what do we know about the Lonnie J character other than he slept with Harmony? Nothing. In addition, I wondered what was the point of making it such a big secret that Kreshon and Harmony messed around back in the day all for Jayden to find out and say "so." What was the point of the Metha character? She added nothing to the storyline at all. I mean I admit that I was interested in her, but then she faded away into oblivion and so I wasn't sure if I was meant to care who she was or if she was a filler person.
I expected Jayden to really be a monster. But all she really was, was a spoiled brat. Her monstrosities didnt impress me. Further, I felt her personality change from one book to the other. Where she was obsessed with Passion in one book, her obsession goes completely overlooked and unexplained in this book. I found that I didnt care about what would happen to her. Didnt care about her or her friends. Honestly, the people that I found were the most entertaining, T. Styles killed off. Jace and Kali's war had a big build up in the second book only to come to nothing in this book. I expected Jace to confront Harmony for giving him AIDs. No, not really anything like that in this book. I feel there was a lot of missed opportunity here. I admit that I dont care about Mad or her friends. I am interested to see what happens to Mad's baby, but her Catacomb friends are so super uninteresting to me.
The one person I did find that I wanted to know more about was Sebastian. Strangely, I found myself wanting to know more about who he was and how he came to be in Maryland.
All in all, this wasn't a bad book. It just had too many meaningless scenes for my taste. I doubt I will read the spin off book about Mad and her Catacomb friends as I could care less about their little adventures. Should T. Styles write another book in the actual Raunchy series, I would probably read it because I do want to know what happens to the baby and with Sebastian. All in all, I am still a fan of T. Styles' writing because she does know how to weave an excellently dramatic story. As an author, I look up to her.
This was another great read from T. Styles. I really liked that the story started with giving additional info on Jayden's childhood. I felt like this allowed the reader to gain more insight on the main character of the book. There were some characters that I wished she developed a little more because I felt like I didn't know them. Very minimal grammar errors. Looking forward to her next release.
I have to say that T. Styles is one of the most descriptive writers in urban lit today. Her word flow and the way that she describes scenes, sights, situations and smells are short of amazing. When she described traumatic scenes I cringed at the thought. Although I still think this is a 5 star read, I didn't like it as much as I liked R1 and R2. It seemed like some things were drawn out and it felt like I was reading it forever. I enjoyed the history on Jayden's background but I missed some of the major characters from the previous books. Jayden went from a quiet, scary little girl to a monster and at times I hated her. I felt like she was causing unnecessary havoc but coming from her background, who could blame her. Im looking forward to a continuation in this series bc I need Mad to bring it and I want to know what's going on with her father, Kali since he wasn't mentioned much. The great thing about this series is that it continues where the previous book left off and I found myself remembering everything that happened previously. Overall, great series and I will be waiting for the next one.
At the beginning of the first chapter, I am confused because the book doesn't start where two ended but takes us.back to when they were kids. I like Sebastian but he is going to lose it when he returns and find out his brother is. dead. It was certainly time for Karshan o be dealt with for his disloyalty to Have and his daughter. Imagine my surprise to find out the grandmother is involved with the theft of Cassius. The highest betrayal is taken out by Rick, the grandfather. The aunt's are a trip and they thought they had Jayden on the house deal but she came out on top thanks to granddaddy. How long does it take. Kali to return to DC to find Mad and the baby. Didn't like Gucci at all, let's call her jealousy.
To say that I've ever read a series of books like this a lie. I was astonished at some of the things that T. Styles came up with in this book. I love her writing style and this book was nothing short of amazing, with multiple things to keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait to read the next book to the raunchy series.
This was a really good book. Jayden had become a cold piece. Getting some of her history was really good to figure out why she was the way she was. Mad had her issues too. It was sad to see the two of them drift apart from one another. I look forward to reading T. Styles next book Mad Maxx: Children of the Catacombs. I would highly recommend this book.
T.Styles did it again. Wow! This book was right on point from R1 and R2. I will go into more details with my review once my Bookclub reads it. I don't want to spoil it for everyone. If you don't have it go and get it because you will not be disappointed.
Books now are missing the flare of the unexpected. I can’t say who I liked the most in this series strangely you understand them all and find yourself rooting. For them even though you shouldn’t
I don't know why exactly but I'm a Jayden fan, I really root for her even when she's not doing the nicest things. Mad didn't win my heart . SIP Harmony she did one unselfish act this series . Looking forward to reading more about the twins and their friends. What's left of them .
I was waiting for one character in particular to pull back up that didn’t and to see Rick was a twist I wasn’t expecting. This one left me on a cliff. On to the next one!
Baby hands down T Freaking Styles is one of my favorite authors to date!!! Ur books never disappoint. I’m tryna finish this review so I can get to the b next book
SOOOO this book had so many tosses and turns. So many "i cant believe this shit!" Harmony never seemed to surprise me with her actions, she has always and will always be a bad mother. but towards the end of the book I did start getting a soft spot for her. Jayden was the most ruthless in book, she was doing things that I never thought she was capable of doing, after what happened with her and her sister they wasnt lying when they said she was a MAD monster. MAD i felt for her throughout this book especially after what happened with her and the baby, I was just very happy that she did get to see her son at least one. The Thirteen Flavors was good and running and I really noticed how dangerous jayden could be with this group. It was alot of betrayal in this book from people you wouldnt have guessed. RICK he is pure trash and i really hope he gets everything that is coming to him. MAD is on a new mission with new people. KALI was really in the low background during this chapter and mainly all of them.. he never did get in touch with his daughter. T.styles definitely did her thing on this book and i cant wait to read the next installment
I really enjoyed the final installment of this series. Each part brought something different, but I feel in this book I learned so much more about Jayden because of the flashback portion. As I read the story from Jayden's view it seemed that what she always wanted was her mother's love and she was willing to do anything to prove it. She helped Harmony until she could help her no more, unlike Mad. Harmony seemed to have a few more "human" moments than in any book before, but they only lasted seconds before she was right back to her evil self. I thought the storyline was great, but what I didn't care for were the parts with Mad's new crew. I am not too sure how I feel about the next book being about Mad and her crew, but if it has anything to do with this crazy family, I'm all in. As I was reading all I could ask myself was "Can there just be one normal person?". Each time I would think someone could be a nice person and actually willing to help, they just let me down again and again. Everyone can't be evil, there has to be some good somewhere, and I would have liked to have seen that. Other than being uninterested in Mad's crew, I enjoyed the story and if you have read the other parts, I recommend you do so as well.
Finally the moment we've all been waiting for! The release of Raunchy 3, the final installment of T.Styles Raunchy series. And what a release it was! This time the ball is in Jayden's court as she deals with the events of part two while trying to manage her 13 flavors business. I loved how we are given a little more insight into Jayden and Mad's childhood. This book took me a little longer to finish than I expected. It was a little slow at times and seemed to drag on. I wish some characters would've been a little more developed and detailed than what they were. There were some editing issues as well. Cant wait for Mad Max's book.
I have fallen in love with the Raunchy series. I just finished this book and I enjoyed how Jayden finally stepped up to the plate. I wasn't surprised that Harmony hadn't changed but I didn't like how her decision caused innocent people to suffer at the end. I also didn't like the situation that Mad was put into which called for her to be on the run. I'm definitely looking forward to the 4th which will be released next month.
Another crazy episode in the Raunchy series. Just when you thought things couldn't possibly get more disturbing...Jayden definitely takes the cake as the more diabolical twin. I definitely wasn't expecting all those lives to be lost and without consequence. Remembering these are teens, I'd hate to see how reckless they can be as adults, if they make it. Good work of fiction, not for the weak in stomach. I think Raunchy is a tame title for what's written within the pages.
Was a bit confused with this read. I was disappointed with it until the Epilogue, which I was all into it. sometimes Authors force the issue with having series and Raunchy 3 is a prime example. Though I think Ms. Styles was trying to wrap the whole series up, by tying up loose ends, the book read more like a slew of ideas.
Raunchy 3 was an over the top, fast paced, drama filled read of ratchetness. Ms. Styles has a great imagination and one would assume that the "over the top" scenes are written with the OMG factor in mind. She definitely knows how to conceptualize and produce page turners. You won't be bored with her books, I guarantee it!
Raunchy 3 was everything!!! Miss Styles brought her A-game plus some with this finale to this crazy ass series. I felt a range of emotions while reading this book but the one that sticks out the most was feeling bittersweet about this series ending. Jayden still isn't my favorite tho.
