Cora gave up everything to stay alive. Her relationship, her home, and her actual life.
She didn’t even get a t-shirt to go with her ethically murky career path and the two foster kids who crash landed in her life.
Parenting the powerful comes with growing pains no one could prepare Cora for.
Andrew has run back to the cult she helped him and Andrea escape from. Andrea is sure that Andrew has gone back to prove his usefulness and take down the Evolved from the inside, but there’s no guarantee of that.
Caught between worry for his safety and the fear that his return is down to her failure, Cora’s only option is to mount an impossible rescue mission for someone who might want the world destroyed.
Will the precarious limb Cora put herself out on for the kids snap and send her plummeting to her death? Or can the family ties she’s created take the strain and save everyone?

Generally when I am reading a series I wait until the end to write a review. Although I do give stars to every book in the series I read.
That having been said, this series so far as it started I didn't know what to think. It seemed as if we going on a journey with the protagonist, as the mentally wrangled with their illness and the cure. We not only did that but we find ourselves on a journey of self discovery and dealing with her new reality as a vampire and what she can do to help those in need.
Kudos to the author, can't wait to see what happens next!
Phillipa Norcross continues to display a prodigious writing talent. Here she’s shows us that emotions and a person’s inner world are but the tip of the iceberg in her writing repertoire as she writes action scenes so filled with tension that I literally found myself standing and pacing as I continued to read.
She creates a magnetism with her word choices that pulls the reader inexorably deeper into her world. So very well done!
Cora is trying to decide if she made the right choice becoming a vampire when Andrea shows up with news about her brother. Now Cora and her friends have to find Andrew and go up against the Evolved again. I enjoyed the new characters that showed up in this book and enjoyed the storyline, I am looking forward to the next book to see how the story continues.
An exciting, entertaining and throughly enjoyable series!!!!!
Congratulations to Philippa Norcross and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Wow, the Evolved (or 'not so evolved), we're a particularly nasty group. Anyone wanting to use kids and plan mass extinction is kinda not humane at all.
Fun and enjoyable story, I'm going to read the next book in this awesome series.
Cora is in a funk coming to terms with being a vampire. Andrea shows up and says that Andrew left her and had gone back to the Evolved. Andrea wants help to save him.
