Commitment #3

Maybe Never

Rate this book
The postscript to 'Unsuitable Men'. . . Tracy is a complicated and sometimes difficult woman, but Brendan loves her anyway. Still, your lover’s foibles are one thing to tolerate when they’re just your ‘lover’. Contemplating forever is an entirely different story. What happens when there are things about the person you love that you still want to change? And what do you do when you have to face the fact that if change is what you need from them, that might happen . . . maybe, never?

06/11/2015 -- Re-read

These two have a unique brand of crazy that works for them. Brendan is an absolute saint and Tracy is coming around. She make us a bit mental reading all the inner workings of her emotions, but if she wouldn't be Tracy if she didn't make us a bit nutz.

This is a shorter novel in this series, but is complete and enjoyable. The others stand alone, but this one really requires you to read Unsuitable Men first. Or I think so, at least.

I'm re-reading this whole series again. I'm two books behind and am really looking forward to them. I love these characters.

Happy Reading!

It took me a while to finish this book but not because it wasn't good......just kept having to put it down......but when I was able to sit down and finish it my heart went out to Tracy....Tracy was feeling the way so many of us has felt at one time or another....some of us admit it and some don't but all in all we can relate.....Brendan was a good man some would even say a GREAT man but a man nonetheless and he did stupid things.......There was no doubt that Brendan loved Tracy but he was scared and didn't really know how to deal with things.....and Riley we all need a best friend like her she had her friends back til the end and had no problem telling Brendan that he was being an ass and she had no problem telling Tracy if and when she was wrong.....I know there will be more to come on these couples and a love story for Chris but I was so looking forward to knowing what would happen with Tracy and Brendan....Will they make it? Will the baby be okay? So please Ms. Forrester please don't keep us waiting too long.....A JOB WELL DONE!!!!

I really liked this book because I love Tracey and Brendan and because their relationship is so real. I was a little scared at one point in this book that they were in trouble and I cried when things turned bad for them. I have always rooted for this couple and I am glad that their love story is tuning out so good.

Third time reading and I still cry 😭

Short and sweet

Loved the extended story of Brendan and Tracy. It was so sweet. I'm looking forward to reading more about them in the rest of the Committment series!

Let me start off by saying that Nia Forrester is THE BOMB!!!! I've read all of her books and she just keeps getting better and better. I am most definitely a HUGE fan!

Like the first reviewer said, I too dreaded reading this book. I loved Tracy and Brendan in Unsuitable Men, and wanted to believe that they were living happily ever after somewhere. I read the excerpt of this book on Ms. Forrester's website and thought I knew what the issue was going to be between Tracy and Brendan, but she completely turned the tables on me. Didn't see the 'wrinkle' that came up in the beginning of the book and totally didn't expect any of Brendan's reactions. I was a nervous wreck while reading the book, wondering how things were going to turn out because I really, really wanted a HEA for these two, but I just wasn't sure it was going to happen. The storytelling here is really good.

Unlike her other books, this one is fairly short, so I was able to read it in a couple of hours. While I love that fact that Ms. Forrester writes long stories, with realistic characters and situtations that progress at a natural, believeable pace, nothing is lost by this story being shorter than usual. Having said that, please keep giving us the longer stories, Ms. Forrester - I love 'em!

Glad to see Riley, Shawn and Chris again. I absolutely cannot wait for Chris' story.

Keep up the good work, Ms. Forrester!

I really adore Tracy and Brendan's story. Although they have this awesome lifestyle, they are such relate able characters. Tracy's insecurities are something that so many women can relate to. Although she seems like she has it all, there are many things she is just not 100% confident about regarding her man. Brendan he is the typical Mr. Perfect with commitment issues. Although he is always secretly questioning his relationship, I'm always rooting for him because deep down you can just feel the love he has for Tracy. Riley is my girl! She will protect her bestie at all costs, and she certainly stood up for Tracy when the time was right. I am a little disappointed because I wanted Tracy and Brendan's story to go on. It did end still a bit unresolved. Nia has gotten me to love her epic tales, and while I know the length would not be there for this story I still want and miss it. I know we'll probably get a look when Chris's story comes out, but I really want a detailed view. Will they get married? What happens with the baby? and most importantly will they make it??? I will be anxiously awaiting the next story and hope to find these answers. Well done Nia Forrester, you have another hit on your hands.

I have read everything this author has put out several times over. All her material will soon become classics that anyone one can curl up to on a lazy day in bed or a sneak glimpses of during a lunch break. She is totally amazing; with that being said, this new piece did not disappoint. “Maybe Never” will be another book that will place this author at the top of many reading lists.

“Maybe Never” allows us veteran fans the chance to peak in on one of our favorite couples, Brendan and Tracy, and their tumultuous relationship. Even if this the first piece of material you venture into from this author, the story will captivate you and pull you in until the very end.

This novella was beautifully constructed emotional piece that takes the reader on a intoxicating ride of highs and lows. I found myself smiling at many precious moments but pulling out the tissues for the empathic parts of the storyline. Believe me when I say the ending was a tear inducing moment as well.

I recommend anyone who wants some romance mixed with a little emotion with a pinch of suspense purchase this novella plus Unsuitable Men and Commitment. Also tell your friends to purchase them as well.

"Maybe Never" by Nia Forrester

My Speculation:

This was indeed a good read all the way around it. Yes, Brendan Cole had flaws, but so did Tracy Emerson. I enjoyed how this author was able to give us a read where you saw the 'complications, depth, and resolutions fo many of the uncertainties' that were left from these two main characters from the read 'Unsuitable Men.' I loved how we were able to see Tracy learning to 'curtail her theatrics and antics,' and Brendan maturing from being so 'authentic and palpable' in their 'tumultuous relationship.'

From the story, one can see the 'vulnerability and susceptibility' in both of these characters and only leaving you wanting more. Be ready for a story that is wonderfully constructed with some emotions that will take you on a ride that will leave you with some intoxicating highs and lows.

In the end, I was left wanting to know more, but it looks pretty good at this point in the story going me in a tear an inducing moment as well.

Thank you, Nia Forrester!!!!

I was so afraid Brendan wouldn't be redeemed!!! I was crushed in Unsuitable Men (book2)!
But how beautifully perfect this book unfolded sharing a true glimpse of the inner struggles couples go through when in a relationship was so necessary to tell a complete story. I love the detail, the thought process, and the depth of both characters. I can truly say now, Brendan AND Tracy are perfect for one another and belong together. I'm excited to continue on with this series!!! (And I know this will make Enecia's heart so glad...she told me so.)

My review is going to concur with the other 5 stars and I am happy to know I am not the only person whose emotions get all bunched up when reading Nia Forrester's books. If you have never read one of her books, you won't expect it at first. You will just go traipsing through the story and then, bam! You will hit the first of many emotional bombs-little mine nuggets that connect with some past hurt, insecurity, flaw or past relationship trauma that you have experienced. And if that isn't enough to give you a clue of what level this writer is on, I will go further.

Maybe Never, is simply brilliantly written! I've used this word before in describing her writing and I can't think of a better one. The fact Maybe Never is short and still takes you deep, is even more proof of this. When she begins to close the gaps in this tapestry of love and commitment demonstrated in the 3d characters of Tracy, Brendan, Riley and Shawn, who live in our mind and hearts, she will do it with a simple sentence that will have you speaking out loud, "Boom!"

I can't recommend this book enough! You will laugh, you will cry--and not a polite sniffle, and you will fall in love once again with yet another one of Nia Forrester's stories.

Nia Forrester has done it again. I was whisked away for a couple of hours and plopped right in the middle of a compelling story about two people who obviously love each other, but have to figure out how to make it work. This is the continuation of Tracy and Brendan's story from Unsuitable Men (my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...).

Tracy is still insecure, and for some reason she can't accept that Brendan loves her - flaws and all. Just like he is "the one" for her, she is "the one" for him.

I have to say, I got a little nervous toward the very end when they were at Riley and Shawn's house, and it seemed things weren't going to work out because Tracy was going to send him away. I was not going to be happy if the book ended that way.

But it ended the way it should have. At the right moment, Brendan said the right thing. It was so sweet and romantic. And it was all Tracy needed to hear to ease her fears and accept he really did love her.

I did not read the first book but this "epilogue" was enticing enough that I will probably read it. This is the story of a beautiful but insecure woman who is in a committed relationship with a man that she loves fiercely. Her insecurity threatens the relationship repeatedly. The object of her love is determined to anchor her but doubts his ability to help her deal with her demons. A past love interest enters the scene forcing his to think about his relationship and his life goals. Tracey tried my patience at times but there are moments when you feel sad for the turmoil she sustains in her life and relationships. Not much to the story. It is an easy, almost too quick read, clearly a follow-up to the book before it but the author gives enough details that you understand important parts of the characters history. I liked the writing style.

THE END????

I feel soooo...unfulfilled. Yes, I gave the novellette four stars, because it was so well written. It drew me in emotionally, which is a must for any book that I decide to read, no matter the genre. I just wanted more from this story. We all know how it ends, but I wanted to visualize the rest of the story and that didn't happen, because of the abrupt ending. I wanted to see their day. No!!!! I NEEDED TO SEE THEIR DAY!!!!

To be honest this ending could've, maybe should've, been tacked onto the end of the second book in this series. Oh well, I suppose you can't make everyone happy.

Still worth the cost, but....👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

I loved this book. Actually, I loved the entire series and I hope there is more to come. Nia stories all offer love, compassion, hope, heartache, and hot sex! The dialogue between Tracy and Brendan is outstanding. I can imagine 2 people sharing those exact words whenever they express love, doubt, and anger. I just hope we get a chance to read more about Tracy, Shawn, Riley, and Brendan.
I have to give big props to Riley for sticking up for her girl Tracy! I loved how she put Brendan in his place. If you haven't read these books, please, please start now!

Hello. My name is Andrea and I'm a Nia Forrester addict. Seriously, I really do not believe Ms. Forrester can do any wrong in the literary world. I love that 'Maybe Never', a sequel to Unsuitable Men gives us a different view, a softer view of Tracy, allowing us to sympathize and slowly forgive her crazy, deranged antics while showcasing Brenden's shortcomings as well; a perfect unabridged definition of 'flaws and all'. This is another one of Nia Forrester's masterpieces that will leave you with a smiling, satisfying sigh.

I'm in awe

Nia Forrester is a genius.
It’s no secret (though it’s a shame that she doesn’t get the recognition she deserves) that she writes some incredibly insightful, poignant and beautiful stories but this little novella takes the cake. There hasn't been a single character she’s written that I haven’t liked but the complexity of Tracy is on another level. Literally. She resonated with me in a way that’s indescribable and was so so liberating. Especially that one climatic scene between Tracy and Bredan? slow claps
I wasn’t much impressed with Brendan but that's the "real life" for you.

There is one more thing I want to bring to attention which I think is not appreciated enough these days in the book community i.e., the significance/meaning behind the title of a book. In this case, this author wins. Every single time.

If I had to describe this book in 3 words?
Real, liberating and empowering.

Also, Miss Forrester, please never stop writing.

I read my review of Tracy and bredans book and she annoyed tf out me. Well she annoys tf out of me in this little follow up too.

Brendan is asking for trouble. First going to his ex Janice apt. Then going to the function she invited him to. He knows his woman so he had to know how bad an idea that was. Ok I see Brendan playing with fire. And. Brett need her lil ass fired

Yes Riley! Go off. Stan for your friend. Go best friend. Go best friend.

Brendan emotionally cheated on his pregnant fiancée. I can’t even be team Brendan like I used to be. And now he got me feeling sorry for this unstable woman.

That second proposal was weak too.

I’m not sure how I felt about either of the MCs and the end of this.

Loving someone is easy

This story paints the picture that I've heard friends and strangers tell. Falling in love is easy. Staying there takes work. That's just reality. In some cases it takes more work than others. However, I'm happy that Tracy had the courage to risk losing it all by walking away when that love wasn't being reciprocated properly. But, nothing is every that black and white. So I'm also happy that Brendan went after her, again. Because those two are it for each other.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I do feel like I would have given the previous book a higher rating if it were fused into one book with this one. Tracy has a lot of relatable doubts and reservations when it comes to this thing called love and just as a woman in general. I loved the touch in on Riley and Shawn and how much they have grown in their relationship. I love Brendan through his flaws. I also appreciate the realness of the characters in that no one is just good or just bad, so you can't really judge them. There are multiple parts to us as humans. Nia is a great story-teller.

Brendan & Tracy 2

What is the right way to love a person?

We are all different and require sometimes mundane things to keep us happy.

Will Brendan be able to curtail some of Tracy's antics?
Will Tracy be able to continually watch women lust after Brendan without becoming a raving lunatic?

Can polar opposites truly find their way when the deck is stacked against them at every turn?

Emotional roller coaster! Brendan and Tracy made me root for and against them on and off, throughout this follow up story. The importance of good communication in a relationship was demonstrated time and time again. But I was here for the ups, downs and everything in between!
This series most certainly tests the bonds of commitment and then some! Another excellent read from Nia!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tracy and Brendan were draining.

I wish it would’ve been slightly longer, parts felt rushed. Yet the ending was perfect, simply because of the ridiculousness of this couple. Of course nothing would be settled.

Can’t believe Brendan played around with fire, after all that warning he gave Shawn.

It was nice to see Riley stand up to and for her friend.

Hopeless Romantic💙💙💙

I’m so emotionally invested in all of these characters...whew! At times, Tracy had me wanting to snatch her through the book and shake some sense into her as well as Brendan at times. All to glad of the outcome and growth of the both of them. Excellent Read💯

Maybe Never!

Where do they go from here? Some of these books seem like they would make a good mini series, but casting the wrong folks could be disastrous! In this case if real people were on the screen acting out this ending...maybe I would know how it really ended.
