For years, budding journalist and recent high school graduate Lily Kyle wanted to spread her wings. Lily’s corner of the world, small desert town Fort Branch, feels more like a prison than a home. For all its faults, Fort Branch is all she’s really known, and leaving stopped mattering so much once she was claimed by a werewolf alpha.
When Damon King – her lupine soulmate and newly-inducted alpha – is called to the werewolf-run town of Scagg’s Valley to investigate a pair of murders, Lily gets a hunch. Something isn’t right, and while she can’t put her finger on exactly what, she’s not about to let Damon head out west without her.
Danger rears its ugly head a thousand miles from everything Lily has ever known, and she finds out the hard way that sometimes, she can’t rely on Damon to save her. Lily has to do the saving.
Will ancient magic, a rogue wolf warlock, and a string of terrible murders tear Lily and Damon apart? Or will the alpha and his mate learn to rely on each other, themselves, and their love to find a path through the darkness?
Lynn doesn't love anything more than being wrapped up in a hammock with her corgi on her stomach and a pile of her favorite books to read. And by "pile of books" she means "a kindle."
She loves all sorts of romance, but especially ones that feature big, strong alphas who will stop at nothing to prove themselves to the women who melt their hearts.

The story is interesting, but seems like the author missed opportunities in character development and rushed through developing the plot. It all happens boom boom boom
I got this book on sale at Amazon, but I totally would pay for it! I'm doing the happy dance over here because I have found a new author to put on my favorite author 'must-buy' list.
This book is even better than the first and since I gave that one 5 stars I'm having a bit of a dilemma. Do I go back and give the first story 4 stars as I think this one is better, but I don't want to penalize the author for writing a better book . . . oh what to do?!?
I seriously can't wait to read the next book in the series. Lynn Red writes with eloquence and originality, 2 qualities difficult to come by now-a-days. It almost killed me having to put this book down occasionally to go on needed errands today. *sigh*
I highly recommend this book, just click on the link and start reading, although I have to agree with the other reviewer, you will enjoy this one a lot more if you read the 1st book before this one. Have fun, I know I did.
Free download. Again another great read, I'm enjoying the story and plot. Some parts of this book got a little confusing but overall it was exciting and scary at once. Damon is still a loving beautiful Alpha, and Lily is still in love with him together they heal each other and are so completely in love it's amazing. In this book we learn about Lily's gifts and find a new foe which is trying to take over but our Hero's work together to win. You still have angst, secrets and lies but the message is clear. Love wins in the end. I enjoyed the ending and look forward to the finale in this series.
I decided to give it a try and at first, I was really disappointed. It seemed to be going in the same direction as the other one, where Damon always questioned himself and his ability but as the novel continued, it actually wasn't bad, both character grew into themselves and at the end, when Damon asked Lily to marry him, it was good but I still have doubts about a lot of things, maybe the third book will shake it all up. I have to admit that it seems a bit rushed at times, as well.
For a moment there I thought I was Alpha trying to find out what was wrong with me and why I couldn't remember a thing. Not really sure what Lilly's powers are but I was pulled right into Hunter's body with her. Not really liking how the alpha is so far away from the pack though. Seems like he has more responsibility in Scaggs. Good read can't wait for the next one.
Pretty good read. Different writing style for me with werewolves and witches but was enjoyable enough I was able to finish the book. There have been some books where I couldn't get pass the first couple chapters no matter now hard I tried.
Can't believe she's done it again. I'm not sure there are enough words in the English language to describe my opinion of this author. She makes me feel happy, want to laugh, cry and all the time I hate to see the story end. She is my kind of writer.
Great follow up to book 1. I loved the fact that Lily is more than she seems and has powers of her own!! Can't wait to see if Hunter has his own story!
loved it,60 yr old mystery to solve for these 2 love birds, him trying to be the alpha they all expect him to be.unexpected surprises , keeps you on your toes and wanting more, gimme more
It is readable in my opinion but it lacks depth, there are too many sex scenes, and those scenes are not really interesting, so I want to skip most of them, and some things don't make sense to me. Why would the wolves let her write her stories? How is she not pregnant?
I loved the new characters and the tension in the pack. The overall idea is good, but the whole book would need more depth.
It wasn't all that bad, I just found it boring. Many things get started and don't get used anymore, so it all becomes pointless.
