“Then you never have to worry. We’ve pulled you out of the darkness, baby, and you’re never going back. That’s a promise.”

“It’s there to remind me of the night my life changed forever. And I’m not sure if you’re familiar with dream catchers, but they are supposed to keep the bad dreams at bay if you put them over your bed. I figure if I have you in my arms, those dreams get to me before they get to you. I want to stop them before they start.”

“Neither one of us knows the future,” she argued.
“I do, and mine is with you...I’m warning you, I’m not giving up on us. Don’t you give up on us.”
"This is for anyone who's coming out of a bad place in their lives. No matter how dark the moment seems - there will always be a way out of it."

"The man was beautiful really. He stood easily 6'3, though with his motorcycle boots he probably topped 6'5. The Native American heritage was apparent in his high cheekbones, the long, straight black hair, and the suntanned tone of his skin. His brown eyes burned intensely as he watched her."

“Turn around and look at me,” she told him, trying to turn him with her own strength.Again, though a simple plot, Briscoe tries to manifest her characters in a realistic light. For example, Meredith, on top of all her other emotions, experiences unwarranted jealousy towards a good friend and Tyler experiences a need for vengeance that is so great that he loses his emotional cool (in a tragic but cathartically good way). The characters have flaws, but very human reactions. A few times, the descriptions and dialogue are poignant, and then more times than not, they're a little...off.
“Let me get a hold of myself.”
“No, I want to see you. It’s alright if you’re showing emotion, Tyler.” He turned around to face her, tears still streaming down his face.
