Bestselling Author Bernadette Marie writes contemporary romances and believes in Happily Ever After. The married mother of five believes in love at first sight, quick love, and second chances. An avid martial artist, Bernadette Marie is a certified instructor and holds a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. She loves Tai Chi, traveling to Disney parks, and having lunch with friends. When not writing, or running her own publishing house, Bernadette is probably immersed in a Rom Com, from which she will often quote one liners.
I have to say that Opposite Attraction writing and editing is wonderful! Sometimes writing quality lacks as a series progresses, but this series just keeps getting better!
Curtis Keller and Simone Pierpont are in love but keep hurting each other. It all starts out where these two hook up at Carlos Keller's first of two weddings. Curtis and Simone go to her father yacht and she leaves him. Fast forward a few months and Simone finds out she is pregnant with Curtis' baby.
Simone has be cut off from her money and life style. She comes to Nashville to start her life as a common person and hopefully to win the love of Curtis. She is working in a government funded clinic and wearing hand me downs. She even moves in with a co-worker to get out of Zach and Regan's house since baby two is on its way! There is a lot of bumps in the road to get to her happy ending.
I love how the Keller's treated Simone has family since day one and Zach and Regan were always there for Simone. Makes for a good feeling book!
Oh, and the teaser for the next book.... Can we say hot?!?! Arianna and John! Yum oh yum!!!
This book was a bit of struggle for me. I have lived all the books in this series and I wanted to read curtis' story but I have to say I dislike Simone. I think that may have come from her in the 1st book being a prissy princess that was after Zac even though he never fell for it. so to stay this Story finding out she just left Curtis on a yacht after she spent the night with him very annoyed me so the ready of the story was a struggle for me to happy about returning to Tennessee to tell Curtis she was in love with him and having his baby. In spite of all of that I still give it 4 stars for the other characters and their stories.
This story pulled me in with its plot and interaction but the main characters went instantly from love to hate and back too many times. And the ending felt like deja vu. I liked the relationships with the extended families. Rich Parisian heiress Simone left Dr Curtis stranded on her yacht and now that her father's cut her off, she's trying to start over.
Okay, I loved book one, detested book two and found this one tedious. After book two I could not continue with this series until now, years later. Curtis is an unlikeable ass who jumps to conclusions with no reason and Simone, oh boy. How can she be nearly forty years old, the daughter of a billionaire and not own anything, no jewellery, car, designer clothes or stocks, something/anything she could sell to support herself and her baby. Simone does try and has a good heart but cannot be straight with Curtis about things. Curtis was childish in his thinking and behaviour. Disliked the fact Curtis was bonking Cynthia and went straight to her for sex when he felt slighted. Is he going to stop letting work dictate his life. This wraps up very quickly with no real communication. No more of this series for me. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Third book in the Keller Family Series, and what a sweet read! This one follows Curtis Keller, a doctor at a local hospital in Nashville, who falls for Simone Pierpont, a friend of his brother-in-law Zach Benson. After a whirlwind affair, she runs after discovering she's fallen in love, only to return to Nashville in hopes of winning Curtis' heart. Will he take her back or has he moved on? Opposite Attraction is a great read about family, love, drama, and the search for HEAs.
I am a fanatic about spelling, punctuation and grammar. This particular book reads more like a rough draft than a finished work. "Stake" was used in place for "steak" and vice versa. Misspelled words were almost as prominent as correctly spelled words. Incorrect words used where they made no sense. This is why I gave it 3 stars. Should have rated it lower, but I liked the storyline.
Simone and Curtis meet at a wedding and have a whirlwind romance that ends with Curtis stranded on a yacht in the south of France. Both return to their lives broken hearted. Simone shows up in Nashville 3 months later with secrets and a determination of making it on her own without the father’s money. Curtis is less than pleased to see her but has trouble staying away. Nice story about standing up for your beliefs and those you believe in.
Simone was from France but great friends with Zach, she was set up with Curtis at Carlos & Kathy's wedding and they hit it off tremendously until she ran & left him stranded. Now she is back in Tennessee and pregnant and her dad has disinherited her. But first she needs her life straight and to tell Curtis he is going to be a dad.
It's Curtis Keller's turn. He was paired with Simone Pierpont, oil heiress, at family weddings and they disappeared for a couple of weeks to the French Riviera on her family yacht. She abandoned him there and now months later, she turns up in his home town staying with his friend Zach and his sister Regan. He wants nothing to do with her, he thought they had something special but obviously doesn't feel the same. Simone won't tell anyone why she's there and then she says she is looking for a job, her own flat and they discover she has no money. Curtis is not quite the man I imagined from the previous books. I thought he was rather staid and straightlaced, he dares to criticise Simone for her many ex lovers but he isn't exactly an angel. He is pig headed and often judges a situation before getting the facts. I like Simone. She's nervous about starting a new life but she wants to prove herself, she brave and selfless. I was angry on her behalf at Curtis' behaviour. I found this series after searching for authors similar to Melody Anne. The main similarities to I can see is that the series focuses on a family and each member has a book dedicated to their love story. There is an individual plot in each book but also there's characters and a plot as an undercurrent through several books. I enjoyed reading the book. The characters are believable, genuine and there's just enough plot to show the development of each character and their relationship. It makes a change to have a contemporary romance without detailed sex scenes, which I'm not opposed to, but they just aren't needed here and gives a certain class to the stories (there's none of the pants straining, groin twinging etc every other paragraph). I ended the book with a smile on my face looking forward to the next in the series.
Opposite Attraction (Keller Family #3) Bernadette Marie
This book focuses on Dr. Curtis Keller and Simone Pierpont French Oil Heiress. How their relationship encompasses all the members of the Keller Family and friends. Kept my interest to the very end.
Keller Family Series
Executive Decision. (#1) A Second Chance. (#2) Opposite Attraction. (#3) Center Stage. (#4) Lost and Found. (#5) Love Songs. (#6) (10/2013) Home Run. (#7) (2/2014)
I liked this one better than the previous one. Curtis had a fling with Simone, but it started to mean more to him. But then Simone leaves him in the middle of the ocean with no way home.
A few months later she finds out she's pregnant, her father disowns her. With no money, no job and no way to provide for her baby she asks her friend for a favor. She knows she has to tell Curtis, but that is easier said than done.
Simone is a little naive, but that is mostly because she never had to do a thing in her life. She does a good job though. She finds a job and a apartment.
I stayed up all night and read this book in one day! What a great read! I love Simone and Curtis together. I felt that Simone really matured and became strong and independent throughout this book. It made her appreciate her relationship with Curtis even more. And that money doesn’t really buy happiness – all you need is love. Thanks Bernadette for another great story of the Keller Family! Cant wait to see what will come next!
The story was alright, not the best of the series. I actually enjoyed the secondary characters Sam and Cynthia more than Curtis and Simone. Still love the extended Keller family and how they support each other.
Only 3 stars, though, because I found myself overly distracted by the sizable number of editing errors -- on average, one per page. Missing punctuation, incorrect words, etc., made this Kindle book a chore to read.
finished this book in 1 day and loved loved loved it. i have just fell in love with the kellar family. loved curtis's story sad it was so short im ready to read the nxt story. just love how it dont matter which book u read u will know whats going on with all the kellars. center stage cant come soon enough for me.
Waited anxiously for this book and it was definitely worth the wait. We first met Simone in The Executive's Decision and wasn't a fan of hers. But Opposite Attraction allowed me to see her as a vulnerable person needing what we all do. It was a sweet story and I can't wait to read Marianna and John's story. Thank you Ms. Marie for another wonderful addition to the lovely Keller Family story.
Ok it wasn't as intense as The executives decision but again another good book, Curtis is more complicated character and there was not as much interaction from the leads, I would have loved to read more about their escapade into the French Riviera, a little more detail into what really happens in that Yacht but at the en it was great to see their happy ending. Reading next in series now.
I liked this book just as good as the the other 2 books, though i got to admit i liked The Executive's Decision the most. The whole Keller Family Series was an absolute wonderful read i enjoyed them all. Awesome work Bernadette Marie!
So I've read all of the Kellar books each in 1 day. They make you look inside your own relationships and reevaluate how you live your life. I can't wait to read Center Stage. Hopefully I won't have to wait long.
This book grabs your heart and makes you want to read it as fast as possible. At times you hate Curtis for being so thick-headed but at other times you love what he says. The last scene absolutely made me tear up. I love this book best in the series and recommend it to anyone. :)
This is a Series you must not miss. It is thrilling, amazing and most of all Mind Blowing. The emotions you will feel as you fall into this series will take you beyond your wildest dreams so don't miss out start from the very beginning today
I love the Keller family. Curtis ticked me off a little bit with his assumptions. It was strange that Simone is almost 40 yrs old and controlled by her father. Love that the books still have the other relationships in the story so you still get to see partially what's going on in their lives.
Wow, I didn't realize what a douche Curtis was until he was called on to be a man. I think Simone gave in so quickly that the story became disingenuous. It was an emotional roller coaster that turned into an HEA in the last two pages. Oy... Not the author's usual quality.
What can I say, WOW, another great addition to the Keller series. I really enjoyed Curtis & Simone's book. How long do we have to wait till The next book comes out?
