One part biography, one part prayer book, this book is an essential for any Christian. The foundation for Padre Pio’s work in the world was love. His love of God became intertwined with his love of humanity so that the two became inseparable and unwavering.Padre Pio is notable not for his erudition or even his teachings, per se, but for the man he was and the intercessor he continues to be. Pio gave himself to Christ as a spiritual victim for the souls of sinners. With sweetness, humility, and good cheer, he brought everyone who encountered him closer to Christ. People who met him understood immediately that they were in contact with a Christlike figure. Those who attended his Mass and saw his union with the divine felt as though they had witnessed in person Christ’s Passion on the Cross. During his lifetime, Padre Pio brought vast numbers back to devotion to Christ, and, as he himself foretold, in death he has been able to do still more. All books in The Life and Prayers series come complete with a Touch-or-Click Table of Contents, divided by each section. Enjoy.
I started reading this e-book on the Feast of Saint Padre Pio - not a coincidence.
I came into the book with a completely open mind and in truth I didn't know too much about Padre Pio beforehand. I knew the generalities of his life and the time frame in which his lived, but the details were all new to me.
This is a short book and it's certainly a "high-level" overview, but I found it very worthwhile and informational.
If you're looking for an in-depth analysis of his many works and miracles, this probably isn't the book you're looking for. But if you want a well-written and concise introduction to Padre Pio, then by all means this is for you.
a beautiful book about the life of Saint Padre Pio
This an absolutely beautiful book about the life of Padre Pio. It covers his becoming a capuchin monk, the stigma he had on his hands, feet and pierce in his side, just as Jesus had on the cross when he was. Crucified. It talks about people from all over the world starting prayers and donating money and all the people the world over who also donated to build a hospital in Giovanni Rotunda, that now has over 1000 beds. His talks about his death and his saying he will be able to help more people after his death. Lastly there are several beautiful prayer Saint Pio said daily to those who asked him to pray for them. He healed so many and I believe he Ben now he still does the same. Please this book it is especially if you’re an admirer of Saint Padre Pio. I am.
This was a beautifully written detail of Padre Pio’s time here on earth and all he’s done for the people. A true representation of God, and a true Saint. Reading of how he healed, loved and saved brought be even closer to God. He sent Pio here to dedicate his life to bringing others to God and he die just that. 🥰
A very good overview of Saint Padre Pio! More of a cursory view rather than heavily researched book. The prayers included are excellent and simply worth reading. Good little "nuggets" throughout the book about Padre Pio's love of Jesus.
This was a beautiful book to read. I am eager to read more books about Saint Padre Pio. It was well written and, even though it was a short read, was filled with lots of information. Very good book.

A well written short introduction into the life of Padre Pio. Would recommend it to anyone looking to get acquainted with the life of this great saint.
This book is a quick read and fully captures the highlights of Saint Padre Pio’s life. I felt much closer to this great saint after reading this work and finding his favorite prayers listed at the end was a real bonus. I will be including these prayers in my daily devotions.
This book is one of a series on the lives of Christian Saints. If you are interested in the subject you should look of the others by the same author.
If you have seen my other views you will know that getting to the point is very important to me. This gets thumbs up for getting to the point. It jumps right Into the story.
What I liked about this book is although it lines up all the facts there was a some degree of devotional flavour to it. It was a nice book to read. The author has you engaged until the end. The story is well written and easy to read.
You will like this book if you are interested in the Saints and in Christianity. You will also like it if you have an interest in the biography of important religious people or people of note.
Like the other biographies of saints, popes, and other key Catholic leaders written by Wyatt North, this is a short read about the life of Saint Padro Pio. Included at the end of the book are several prayers of Pio. Born in Italy, Saint Padro Pio was a child who grew up to be on of Christ's greatest followers. This was Pio life's mission from the time he was a child to the day he died. Starting out as a Franciscan monk and friar, Pio was eventually ordained as a priest. Through his ministry, he led large groups of people to salvation through his masses, healing ways, miracles, intercession in prayer, and taking of confessions. During the early years of his ministry, the Vatican sought to control and later suppress him. Still the crowds gathered. Ultimately, the Vatican understood that Pio was a force through which Christ worked and in which the Catholic Church needed.
In addition to ill health that followed Pio for most of his days, Pio was visited by signs associated with stigmata, the bodily marks, pain, and bleeding in locations corresponding to Christ's crucifixion wounds. Although Pio never sought public acclaim for his wounds, always turning the attention back to Christ, and hiding the wounds and bleeding to the extent possible, people saw Pio for the follower of Christ and sought him out. This was what led the church into investigating whether the stigmata was real or a gimmick. It was real. All charges of against Pio were dismissed by the Vatican. However, the investigation though led to even more publicity and greater crowds and attention for the humble Pio. It was then that efforts to control led to the suppression of Pio's ministry and the isolation of Pio from the world. Ultimately, the Vatican understood that Pio was a force through which Christ worked and in which the Catholic Church needed.
Pio's legacy includes the prophecy of Karol Józef Wojtyła as Pope John Paul II, the symbol of Pio as hope during WWI and afterwards during the rebuilding of society, the establishment of worldwide prayer groups, and opening of a hospital.
It was one evening when I was surfing though I came across some of the incorruptible bodies and I saw the pope honoring an beard person where the body looked like just sleeping. This was the saint Padre Pio and he was famous for the stigmatic appearance in his hands and feets.
The book is a very short narration of his childhood to the journey of sainthood. Off course it covers few controversy as well as few miracles.
This is an excellent little book for becoming acquainted with Padre Pio, perhaps the greatest miracle worker of the 20th century. It outlines the main points of his life, but one feels like the author could have added more detail--as he did in his J. R. R. Tolkien biography. Still, a good book to read.
I liked this book and was able to read it in one sitting. Good read in an hour or so. Gave me insight into Padre Pio. I mmend it to anyone who is curious.
I liked this book and it satisfied my interesting Padre Pio. I read it in one sitting. Found out background about.
I really enjoyed this quick easy read. It really makes me want to learn more. I am glad I read it. I will now look for a more detailed book. However, this was a great introduction to start with.
I came across a rosary, with his picture on it, and I wanted to learn about him. I'm amazed by his story. If only we could all give a fraction of the love this man was able to give.
I'm a little disappointed it left out 2 big visions/miracles that have been discussed with Padre Pio. Other than that it was a quick, easy, and interesting read. Encouraged me to read more about him.
