Something strange is happening in the metropolis of Jackson City. There have been... sightings, all over the Eastside. The police are nervous - who is this mystery man? He shows up to stop a crime, then disappears into thin air! The people are curious - rumor has it that he has supernatural powers and an invisible car! The victims he's helped love him. "He came down out of nowhere, like a Hawk in the Night!" David Bradford is Nighthawk, a super hero created with top secret technology. He's ready to take on the city, but will all his good deeds finally quiet his conscience?
This is a great story. I really hope there will be lots of sequels. Tying Christian principles in with this was unexpected but a very nice surprise. David is a fabulous hero and Sarah is a strong heroine with the calming spirit that David needed. The internal struggle David has is very well written and I liked the resolution a lot. I would recommend this story to any reader. Can't wait for more!
This is the best book that I have read. It is a Christian book. The story line flows smoothly, and grips you. You want to keep reading. You don't want to stop, even at the end of the book you want more! I hope the author writes at least one more book!
I was really into this at first, a multimillionaire decides to build his own superhero who wouldn't think that was cool? And it started off great, David meets the two gentlemen who explain the project and they help him get out of jail so he can be their test subject. He gets the implants they fake his death and he starts fighting crime. Perfect right? Then it starts to head in a strange direction, Sarah and her brother Daniel are introduced. These two characters bring with them an aspect to the story that I wasn't expecting and quite honestly didn't really see the need for. I was expecting something a little different based on David's history and it definitely threw me off. Personally it was a downer for me and turned what could have been an awesome book into a just ok book.
I was really impressed with the beginning of the novel. I was drawn to the concept of a real life super hero.
I was disappointed that the author failed to address the problems surrounding a faked death of David and the subsequent inheritance he received. How can someone who is believed dead by all but a select few inherit a $10 billion estate? Was he given a new identity upon the faked death?
The story began to get very predictable with each newly introduced character. David would develop feelings for innocent, religious, and feisty Sarah. She of course is on the wrong side of local mobster Rico because of her efforts in the store front church she has with her brother.
I have to say I would read more about Nighthawk and would let others know about the book. I will also say that it is a religious book and I think the author could get the point across without being quite so obvious.
I was looking forward to reading this one. It got off to a good start, then began going downhill. I don't read fictional novels for realism; I read to be entertained. However, the entertainment factor decreased as the story seemed to somewhat fall apart. I'd like to read another by Mr. Alexander just to see how it progresses. Sorry I had to rate this one 3.5 stars.
This book was well ŵritten and plotted. A vigilante augmented with technology who works with the police. He follows the voice that he hears in his head and finally realizes that God is directing his path.
This is an exciting, thrilling action novel. The action scenes are very described and intense! Unique and well-told story. Really hope there will be more books and this turn into a series. The ending hinted that there might be more books - very happy about that.
