*** Loved it ! *** Max Vos gives us a short story that feels like a long one.
It is amazingly written, heartwarming, funny, and so cute! Of course the sex is awesome, as in all of Max Vos tales.
Schoolteacher, Dan, has a student named Harley.

Harley wrote an English paper that needs to be brought to the attention of the parents. So, Dan and the Dad make an appointment.
Hawk walks into the conference, all badass biker,

pierced, tattooed, and hot. Dan is speechless.
They discuss Harley, and Hawk invites Dan over for a BBQ and pumpkin carving. He goes.
We get lovely, deep characters, attraction and super hot sex with these two.

The epilogue is priceless.
Highly recommend this wonderful story !
ENJOY !

A quick read - an unexpected romance ... Would have loved a bit more in between the sudden decade age jump just to see these two build chemistry

Really short but very enjoyable. Teacher meets his cute young students tattooed, multi pierced biker dad and sparks fly. Starts off sweet and cutesome, then turns really hot, hot, hot! Loved the little twist in the tail and the epilogue of sorts was really good. Really liked it.

Short story. The transition of time was a bit jarring. I would have liked the guys to get to know each other better and more Harley time as a kid, but hey. It is what it is.

I really enjoyed this short story, even though it is quite different to what I usually read. This is a very hot book, the author does not hold back on the sex scenes! I found it easy to connect with the characters. I loved the biker dad and the twist near the end.

From Becky: Max Vos's Hawk N Harley hits me right where I love to read: love, romance, and family. I also love vignettes about reunions, and there is one in this short story. You know the type - I crushed on you in Junior High and here you are all grown up!

Hawk is bisexual. He loved a woman and had a child with her, but tragedy intervened and he wound up raising their son Harley alone. Enter Harley's teacher, Dan, and a lovely gay romance ensues.

The ending has a delightful unlabeled epilogue that took me by surprise and made an already wonderful story even better. This is my second Max Vos story to review and I'm telling you he's now on my autobuy list because his stories are addictive. Follow this author!

From Pattycakes: Max Vos has written an absolutely charming story in Hawk N Harley. Dan Cowen is a fourth grade teacher who has a very bright eight-year-old named Harley Smith. A certain assignment has Dan calling Harley's father in for a conference. A large biker-type with tattoos, piercings, and a doo-rag comes through the door and introduces himself as Robert"Hawk" Smith. Can two men from totally different worlds meet in the middle or are they too far apart?
Max has written a fabulous story that is short in length, but packed full of charm, humor, and well rounded characters that are anything but boring. The character driven tale has a fantastically smooth plot from beginning to end, and his writing style is eloquently simple, humorously clear, and the HEA ending was fantastic. I really enjoyed reading this entertaining story and would recommend it to everyone!

Recently, I began having odd parenting dreams. This was actually before I bumped into T.J. Klune's wonderful Bear, Otter, and the Kid at audible.com and listened to it. Since then, many parenting type dreams have followed. Mostly about me being completely incompetent in said role. Unsurprisingly.

That reminds me, the sequel is apparently out on audio now. Need to remember to nab that.

Like apparently attracts like, since today's short story also involves a parent, a kid, and...

I should probably just get ready for the dreams, no?

"Hawk 'n Harley," by Max Vos

This short story has an amusing meet-cute - a fourth grade teacher has a kid in his class, Harley, who is super-bright, but whose English paper necessitates a chat with his folks. Folks, however, turns out to be a single dad instead, and said single dad makes teacher feel tingly in all the right places. The father, Hawk, is a burly biker type who runs a motorcycle shop, and did I mention big and burly?

The erotica sizzles, and it's well done, but it's the story around the sizzle that won me over. One, the realization of who these two men are (a great little reveal on Vos's part that didn't feel overly forced, even if it was perhaps a bit unlikely); second, the ending, which is cleverly written to give the reader a mental double-take and leaves you grinning on the way out of the narrative. Fun. Light. And a wee bit heartwarming.

4.5 stars!

Well this story grabbed me hard! I instantly fell in love with Harley and in lust with Hawk ( just like Danny). I was looking forward to seeing how they would grow towards each other but that was where I find the only criticism I can come up with.

The build up isn’t there! The story is awesome and I have to say you fall madly head over heels for the characters. But where I really would have liked to have seen more and see how they grew in love and got together it went too fast.

I would have loved an extended version of this story. There is so much there to work with. How can you not love Harley and Hawk and Danny? The blurb tells you how the story starts and it grows fast and heavy after dinner.

The epilogue is not mentioned but unexpected and surprising and very sweet. So overall I just can say: People, read this because it’s awesome.

4.5 stars for me because even though I would have loved more and still hope that perhaps there will be more one day, what has been written is nearly perfect.

Dan has read a paper by I his fourth grade student and sets up a meeting with the boys dad, when they meet Dan is in for a big surprise.
I found this a very sweet romance. It moved a bit fast as it went from the present to the future without warning and I was a bit thrown off and had to do a double take on a previous chapter. The characters were cute, sweet and interesting I would have liked to have seen much more and how this relationship develops and how Harley grows up. Great story.
Recommendation: If you like a short, fast paced romance with a HEA ending , big burly men, bikers, tattoos, teachers cute kids, and very hot rough and tumble mansex this one is for you.

I have to say that without a doubt I love the range that this author has.
Hawk 'N' Harley is a meeting of two people, Dan and Hawk, and the blossoming of a potential realtionship into an actual relationship, beautifully layed out and told.
It is a beguiling short story that had me intrigued from the very beginning. The characters, the plot line, the development of both are just delighful to read and immerse yourself in. I loved watching them find each other through misconceptions and the realisation that they had met before. It is a fun story with a gorgeous epilogue and well worth the price and the time.
I know we will hear more from both author and (hopefully) Dan,Hawk and Harely...

I Really enjoyed this story, I thought the author created some great characters and a very sexy story. Harley a sweet kid whose teacher Dan Cowen wants to speak to his parents is forced to send his father to school to meet his teacher. Oh my.... on first sight Dan doesn't know what to do with himself (drooling over Hawk, Harley's father), hes tongued tied and head is in the clouds but after being invited to a get together at Hawk's house s Sparks fly, lips lock and hands grab, very sexy. Even though this story is short it packs alot of sexy in it. My favorite is Hawk. He is a sexy as hell, tattooed, Harley badass. Whats not to love!!!!

This was actually a cute short story about a teacher meeting the bad ass biker dad to one of his students. And,though the sex scene was a bit... irky in wordage, the story itself was fun.

I have also I need more gay biker stories to read and enjoy. ;)

Didn't really warm up to the characters or the story. Also didn't like the fast-forward in the end, which left me feeling as if I'd somehow skipped a few pages inadvertently. Not my cup of tea this one.

Cute short story! I know I would have enjoyed it being longer, because what was there was delightful. The dialogue was fun, the character interesting (I love a sweet bear!)and the glimpse into their life endearing.
