At best this was a 3.25 star read. The drama was a little too contrived for me especially that ending... I am not sure if I want to read the next one. I will think about it. I think the best part of it was that Rachel was in essence a single parent and it was cool to see the guy fall for the entire package. It was sweet at times and had some really sad moments as well. I wouldn't put it at the top of my list to recommend but I do think most will enjoy it for the most part.

This is a book that takes you on an emotional journey. I got angry, I laughed, I cried, I hurt, I smiled, and everything in between.

We meet Rachel, a young new mom, who is in a lackluster relationship at best. She's easily relatable for any mom that can think back to the adjustment of their first baby. Once you become a mom the things you pay attention to are different. It's no longer about how someone treats you, its about their interaction with your baby. I will say, Rachel got on my nerves ALOT, but its just her personality versus mine. She's invisible to Tim and is hoping that this will change. Her daughter, their daughter is invisible to Tim and there is no change in him. Seeing his indifference to Alyssa she gets the courage and determination to move on. Being called home for her father's illness, Rachel uses this to leave Tim for good. Time apart shows them both some important things.

The comforts of home are always soothing to the soul. Once Rachel gets settled at home with the support of her parents and sister, she is feeling better about her future. She's not thinking of meeting someone just trying to get her self on solid ground for her and her precious baby girl. A chance meeting one night, puts her on her ass literally as she meets Ray.

Oh, Ray, how I love thee, let me count the ways!!!! This man is strong, he's accepting, he's supportive, and he's freaking hot!!!!! Ray is attracted to Rachel, but its so much more than that. As they build their relationship, he not only accepts Alyssa but loves her as his own. The challenges this new couple face together will bring you to your knees. Tim shows up to reclaim what was his. Family bonds are challenged as these sisters have to support one another. Love, loss, rebuilding, trust, friendship, and family are all interwoven throughout this story.

They face so much together and fight to keep it together. This is a book I would easily recommend to any of my friends. Hands down, amazing and I can't wait for Zack and Kate's book, Thankful.

Ok.. This is the second book I've read by this author. Honestly this book was such a great book.. It had the perfect amount of sexy parts ;), mixed with serious situations, and also situations that really made me laugh. All of my emotions came out while reading this book. I was happy, mad, sad, upset, giggly, and hysterical..

We are first introduced to Rachel who's in a relationship with someone who doesn't even acknowledge her or their child Alyssa, except for when it benefits him to do so. From the start my heart went out to Rachel.. I felt so bad for her and the situation she was in, living with someone who just treats her bad... Rachel finds out that her dads sick which makes for the perfect excuse to leave Tim and never look back...

Back home we're introduced to Rachel's parents and sister Kate, who I absolutely love. We are also introduced to the sexy and soooo soooo amazing, romantic, perfect, Ray Mitchell, who does all he can to show Rachel that not every man she meets is like Tim.. I don't want to give this review with spoilers but all I will say is that this story was just perfect in every way. Their are sad things that happen in this book, things that you don't even expect to happen, happen... But it was just done so in such a beautiful way that in the end it just all came together.. The way the story was written made me feel every hurt, happy, sad, good, and bad feeling the characters portrayed. It made me connect on a level so deep... The love and also scared love that is explained in this book is done so beautifully. I recommend this book to anyone! I absolutely loved it.

Luckily I was trusted enough to recieve this book early with just a couple others. I am in awe. The depth of what Rachel has to go through and overcome internally is enough but there is so much going on in her life that it really shows how strong she really is even if she is unable to see it. It is books like this that give me hope that there are real men out there who love so deeply with all their hearts and that even when you think you're destined to be unhappy that love can surprise you and through everything change your life.

The emotions and loss, coupled with the emotion of a woman who is finally finding herself. Learning to trust and let go with not just the man she gives her heart to but a family who embraces her and her daughter as if they always belonged. Sigh and Swoon.

Although there has to be something said about the secondary hottie! Ray the main man in the story was amazing! Zack his cousin and Rachel's sister, Kate's love interest blew my mind. He is outrageous and raw and I LOVE HIM!

OK so I won this in her giveaway and started reading it. Wow! This is an emotional roller coaster! All the banter, laughs, tears and gut wrenching ups and downs. I hope this isn't a apoiler but Chapter 11 and 12! I sobbed so hard at work my boss came in thinking I had had a death in the family or something and asked if I needed a personal day. I finished at home last night and well the end has just as much ups and down with the main couple Ray and Rachel as much as her sister Kate and Ray's cousin Zack who are involved as well. Zack is hysterical and Rachel's inner 'sassy bitch' had me nearly in tears with laughter. This book was amazing and I know that with an ending like that there is a sequel which she already released an exerpt from and OMG it is HOT and funny!!!! Bravo and I am a FAN!

I believe it went too fast for me but I still loved it. This is such a great read and let me just say that I loved Ray. I loved the banter between the cousins Zack and Ray and how Zack teases Rachael throughout the book. Amy also made me cry; like holy hell...I did not need or expect that. :) Amy also shocked me in the end and made me get really pissed off; like why????? So what I am trying to say is that Amy wrote a well written book full of emotions that she brought out of me.

A sweet story about love...love of your parents, your siblings, your child and your man/woman. Amy Cox' writing is witty and heart-warming. Hated that she made me cry in public...twice.
I actually liked the cliffhanger, it introduced book two perfectly!! Cannot wait for Kate and Zach's story!!

Rating: Well/House  A refreshing change to the line-up

Amy Cox's Changing Fate brings new and realistic challenges to a romance novel.  This story slaps 'fairy tales' in the face and insists that life is what you make of it and nothing is set in stone.  Changing Fate is fresh, different and is full of emotion.  Usually, romances are full of one on one connection between characters and riddled with commitment issues.  The characters in this story are destined to be together, but when it's life that falls apart around them, their bond becomes even stronger.

The heroine, Rachel/Rach/The Babe, just walked out on a emotionally unbalanced relationship with the father of her young child.  Forcing this move is her father's failing health and the need to be there for her family and the family's business.  With the intent to 'find herself' again, after being in such a draining relationship, Rachel is focused on family first.  That's until Ray Mitchell literally knocks her off her feet.
His face completely serious, he palms my face in his hands. “You are not just some woman I want to sleep with Rachel.   You are the woman I want to wake up with.
Cox, Amy (2013-05-02). Changing Fate (Broken Roads) (Kindle Locations 1572-1573). Amy Cox. Kindle Edition.

Ray is charming and quick, like insanely quick, to commit to Rachel and her daughter, Alyssa/Lys.  Rachel's family seems to have known Rachel's issues with her ex, Tim, and conspire to get Rachel and Ray together.
Until you have no doubt that my whole world begins and ends with you, Rachel.   You are it for me.   If all I ever do in my life is love you… then there is no better life I could ask for.   You are mine.”
Cox, Amy (2013-05-02). Changing Fate (Broken Roads) (Kindle Locations 3327-3328). Amy Cox. Kindle Edition.

Rachel's father refuses to continue his battle with renal failure and insists that everyone enjoy themselves so that his final days can be full of happy memories.  As if leaving the father of your child, finding out that your dad is in his final days and meeting the love of your life is not stressful enough, tragedy strikes the whole family.  I won't mention it here, but Ray and Rachel are put to the test when it comes to realizing who will be there for you when you need them the most.
No matter what happens today, remember that I love you and I am here to talk to or just to be there as you cry all over my shirt while I hold you.”
Cox, Amy (2013-05-02). Changing Fate (Broken Roads) (Kindle Locations 1723-1724). Amy Cox. Kindle Edition.

Here is something I have never said, and probably will not say again in the near future;  I looked passed the grammatical/editing issues.  Although I found the storyline to be refreshing and entertaining, it was also full of errors that caused huge issues with flow.  HOWEVER, the copy I received was prior to being remastered and edited from a publishing house. With that being said, the story was still very, VERY compelling.  So much so, that I didn't make it an automatic 'Virgin'.

Changing Fate does end with a cliff hanger in regards to Rachel's sister, Kate and her relationship with Ray's cousin, Zack. It will be interesting to see how author, Amy Cox, adapts to reviews and edits and proceeds with her endeavors.

**Reviewed for Round Table Book Reviews**

Poor Rachel had had a tough three years. She's in a relationship that is pretty much over, but she doesn't know how to get out. Then she gets a phone call that changes everything. I think there are a lot of people, not only women, who can relate to Rachel and the relationship she was stuck in with her daughter's father. She loved him, but wasn't loved back. He didn't even want their daughter, never had anything to do with her. He's controlling of Rachel, but yet he doesn't even really see her.
Rachel packs up her things and takes get daughter home to be with her family. Then, in walks Ray Mitchell, with his bright blue eyes, who knocks Rachel on her ass, quite literally. From there, their relationship progresses pretty quickly. But he gives Rachel all that she's every wanted, to be seen and loved in return, and for Alyssa to have a true daddy. Ray is willing to do all of this and more. Just as things start to get great for her, something tragic happens.

Amy did a great job. Rachel had to deal with one of my greatest fears in this book that had me crying my eyes out for her. It's inevitable, what happens, but I dread the day I have to deal with it. This book will have you laughing and crying all at the same time. You get a good sense of who the characters are, even the supporting one. I just wish it hasn't ended on the note that it did. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book and hoping for a happily ever after for everyone.

**REVIEWED FOR ROUND TABLE BOOK REVIEWS**

I really did love this book. It had me laughing, crying and at times frustrated with the characters. It really did take me on a whirlwind of emotions.

There are some sensitive issues that are dealt with in the book and they were done really well.

When Rachel left Tim she had no self-esteem and thought she would spend the rest of her life on her own. Then she met Ray. The relationship between Rachel, Ray and Alyssa will have you swooning. I want my own Ray! It’ll also have you shouting out in frustration at points too…….. Still want me a Ray.

The passion between Rachel and Ray is explicit and leaves you a little hot and bothered. I would love to have Rachel’s energy after looking after a baby all day.

This is a book of self-discovery, heart ache and love. You’ll need to keep the tissues handy.

The book moves from scene to scene well. However, although I really enjoyed the book and I loved the story, the book does need some work on the editing side. The dialogue between the characters felt robotic at times and there are numerous errors thought the book which kicks you out of the flow. If these issues were address then this would have been a 4/5 star book for sure!

I will be giving this book a 3 star rating

I loved the pranks and the banter almost as much as the innervoice Rachel has going on! How the voice gets increasingly louder and sassy. Oh there were times I laughed so hard and times when my stomached rolled. The emotion in Rachel finding her way is great. Not to mention Ray is hot and the tension between them is just fierce.

I also love the fact that everything isn't perfect. Ray messes up and so does she. Also the secondary characters have a great story line of their own which is why I know there has to be another one coming... I am definetly an Amy Cox fan. I have read both her books and she knows what she is doing. I am still laughing at the embarassing moments Rachel has in this book and you can't help rooting for her to find her way.

I do have to admit I wanted to drop kick Tim in the balls but hey that's just me...
I totally recommend this book! It is sweet, hot, and funny as hell!

This book had a good story line and characters. It also had a lot of funny parts in this book that had me smiling to myself, yet it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. It also dealt with sensitive topics, like; unplanned pregnancy, emotional abuse, death. I fell in love with two of the supporting characters, Kate and Zack. In fact, I like them more than the characters this book was actually based around. The author is planning on writing a book for them and I can actually say I’m excited for it to come out. I think it will be a better story and more entertaining than this story, which revolved mostly around Rachel, Ray, and Tim.
One thing that I didn't like about this book, was the use of the nicknames "Babe" and "Princess". I felt that they were over used and started to become annoying. There were also punctuation, grammar, and spelling issues.

This story is about a woman who decides to make her life better by leaving a verbally abusive relationship with her daughter at a time when her father is ill. What happens when she gets home ends up changing her life for the better.
For the most part I enjoyed the story. Watching Rachel learn to be loved by such a loving and sexy man like Ray was interesting. Ray is emotionally open and incredibly supportive of Rachel and her beautiful little girl.
And just like life... When everything seems to be coming together... Something happens and it is in pieces again.
Overall, 4 Pens for a well written story and 3 hot puffs of steam for all the sexy scenes.

I'm not sure if I got a bad copy of this.. But there was way to many issues.. And I'm not going to say it was a bad book because I didn't get to read it but I'm willing to give it another go so I am going to wait a few weeks and try to download it again (does it have an update maybe?).. I was really looking forward to it so that's the only reason it got a 1.
