I can’t express just how helpful this book is. Bible Overview started with great general facts about the Bible, letting you know how the entire Bible came to be the canonized book that it is today and how to get the best out of the Bible while you study it. It gave me a solid starting point and let me know what to expect as I studied the holy books. I was also delighted to find detailed information for each individual book explaining the purpose of the book, an outline of the key teachings and events, a background on the author of that book, an approximate date for the book with an illustrated timeline, the setting, themes, key verses, and a way to tie the presence of Jesus in each book. This book is not a Bible itself, but meant to help you understand each book in the Bible as you read and study. I would recommend reading the overview for the Bible book in Bible Overview before and during the study of each book in the Bible. Overall, I’m excited to have got this book and give it 5 stars! This is perfect for pastors and students alike.

Very disappointed. Too much opinion, too many errors in citations that were supposed to prove the claim but did not do that. Too typical of people who cherry pick some random verse and then try to make it say what they want to believe it said.

The summary was very formulaic with little real value. There was too much filler that added little to what I wanted which was an executive summary of the Bible and what it means.

This book looks like it was written just to make money for Rose and not to be useful.

The timelines were laid out poorly both in sequence and typographically for ease of use.

The maps were all over the place at random. Again should have been better laid out and in the place they were most needed.

A great resource. Clear and concise with so much clarity. I recommend adding this to your list of tools in Bible study

Bible overview

I enjoyed the readings and the breakdown. Added to my reading of my Bible and liked the easy way it was written.

Excellent overview of the Bible. It encourages further in depth delving through quotes and summaries of key events/people. Lavishly illustrated throughout. Recommended!
