It's never too late for a new beginning. Look closely and you'll see that theme all through the Bible. Page after page, God delights in turning tragic endings into new beginnings. A childless woman conceives in her old age; a fearful, self-conscious shepherd becomes a leader of millions; and a prostitute becomes a wife and mother in the lineage of Christ. Every biblical fresh start reveals the amazing, awe-inspiring hope we have for our own new beginnings in God's plan for our lives. In You Can Begin Again, bestselling author Joyce Meyer explores the beauty and infinite supply of God's love and grace. Through inspiring stories, Scriptural principles, and her classic practical, life-application approach, Joyce powerfully demonstrates that God isn't done with you yet.If you're stuck in a rut, disappointed by an outcome, hurting from a wound, failing in an endeavor, struggling in a relationship, or unsure about the future. . .don't give up. Don't give up on yourself, and don't give up on the God Who loves you and offers you a new beginning today.

I love Joyce Meyer. She manages to be incredibly tough but nurturing at the same time. That's not easy. She is a preacher for God's misfit toys. Those who were raised in chaos and dysfunction. She doesn't use anything as an excuse but she uses God's words to demonstrate that no matter what our past was, we can begin anew. That through God's redemptive grace we can be sanctified and live. Truly live. She had a brutal upbringing and yet in her middle age she transformed into the success she is today.
She is not complex. She is doggedly direct. She is repetitive but she needs to be. Sometimes her audience must hear a message over and over and over before it creeps in via osmosis. She plants those seeds and it permeates. God wants us to be our authentic selves and that means overcoming obstacles in our path. These obstacles may be real but more often they are created in our minds in the form of fear. Fear is an arrogant prediction of the future. It's formulating life's chess game.
For those who have come to the end of themselves and feel like giving up, this new book by Joyce Meyer encourages readers that it's NEVER too late for grace!
Joyce presents this statement as the "core" message of the bible - it's never too late to start over, never too late to turn your life around and never too late for a relationship with Christ. This book is packed with encouragement and positive reinforcement, urging readers to take a step back - breathe deep, and look for hope.
Joyce shares stories from personal and ministry experience, along with stories of those she has met along the way in her 38 years of teaching God's Word.
Progress is made one step at a time and if you need something to motivate and push you forward in your journey, this book would be a great first step.
I won a copy of this book from goodreads. I have read many of Joyce Meyer's books and enjoy her insight and humor. As the title describes, this book is about new beginnings in spite of where you may be in life or what your past holds. Joyce provides Biblical examples and scriptural support throughout the book. The present day examples and true stories used to illustrate the Biblical principles in this book make it applicable to any situation. I rated this 4 stars only because I have read many books by Joyce Meyer and did not find much new material here. My favorite part of the book was the surprise in the last chapter, I think that alone made this worth reading!
I'm always trying to improve myself and be a better person. This is a great encouraging book, giving words of wisdom and truths about how to set your mind to obtaining your goals and dreams.
Depending on what stage of life you're in it's easy to become discouraged after mistakes and failures.
One thing I'm trying to obtain right now is physical fitness/ loosing weight. I've lied to myself so many times after a bad day that "I deserve to eat more." Or "I've already overeaten, so what's a little more?"
"You can begin again" is a perfect message I can tell myself when I'm going through those times of making excuses.
Here are a few of my favorite phrases and quotes Joyce uses in the book that are useful to me.
"You can stay stuck, dwelling on negative thoughts and living in worry and fear, or you can believe God has something greater for you."
"Praise is a path to victory."
"Yesterday doesn't define you. God's mercies are fresh and new every morning."
"This new day is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
"It's time to forgive the person who hurt you. Let God handle it."
"Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible." ~Saint Francis of Assisi
"Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't."
"Don't allow the negativity of those around you to pull you down and take your focus away from the Lord."
"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something sometime in your life." ~Winston Churchill
"A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for." ~William G. T. Shedd
"Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can say is, 'I'm not going to give up!'"
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." ~Winston Churchill
"Your perspective determines your attitude. What are you focusing on: your problems or your promises from God?"
"God can take 'Plan B' and make it better than 'Plan A' ever would have been."
"Reject the temptation to compare your life to someone else's. God is doing something powerful in your story."
Everyone has a past. Some people have a harder time than others letting it go and moving forward. You are the not same person you once were and yet your past haunts you. How do you move forward? Joyce Meyer’s examines all these questions and more in her latest You Can Begin Again.
When I read the introduction on the very first page, my heart immediately skipped a beat and I read the words my dad used to say at the end of every sermon “Whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you’ve been through, it’s never too late to begin again.” As a Pastor’s daughter I heard those words every Sunday growing up. But since I was a kid, I never really thought deeply about them until now, reading them in this book.
I think Joyce Meyer has an amazing gift to reach people and this book is no exception. I have a past I’m not proud of and have done things I wish could be forgotten. But I am not the same person. I am forgiven and I am born again. So why do I still straggle with forgiving myself and moving on? It’s a problem that’s more common than not and I wanted the answers just as desperately as anyone else reading this book.
I have found myself in the same trap she talks about where I think it’s too late for me. Well I’m only 38 years young. It’s never too late! And it’s that very way of thinking in which we trap ourselves from moving on to the beautiful future God has prepared for each and every one of us, if only we willingly accept it.
This book is divided into three sections: New Beginnings, What’s Stopping You? and Today is Your Day. All sections are thought provoking and as she shares her own experience and that of others who have been there, the connection is deeply personal and I found myself relating on so many levels.
You Can Begin Again is another incredible read from Joyce Meyer that anyone with a past (so everyone) should read!
This book was exactly what I needed at this time in my life! A couple of days after Arcadia Publishing turned down my proposal for a vintage postcard book covering the piedmont region of North Carolina, I needed a confidence boost. There was Joyce Meyer's book staring back at me on the public library shelf. I took my time reading it and taking notes. There are many thoughts and perspectives that I want to be able to go back and read when I'm having a bad day or my confidence is waning. I'm ready to meet new challenges and a new path, and Ms. Meyer's book has helped me find my way.
I like that she is real/honest and practical. She presents herself as a hard worker that God has worked on...not as someone who has arrived...I love that.
Facts are great but how do you live them out?! What subtle mindsets need to be addressed, what does walking in faith look like practically, etc. Her insight is helpful to me.
This is one I'll keep for reference. Wish I had gotten digital instead of a hard copy!
One of Joyce's greatest books and even though the stories are familiar, Joyce collects them in such a way that inspires you to see how God's mercy is new every day and you never run out of chances with God. It's never too late; you can begin again.
I like how Joyce Meyers takes biblical scripture coupled with storytelling to give a well balanced depiction of God's grace and mercy... It is through His promise that we can begin again. Refreshing.
All these reminders of truths about forging ahead in life are things I need to hear over & over. They may not be exciting or dramatic, but they are excellent guidelines for living a life in line with your principles & beliefs.
I really enjoyed reading through this book! I love how it was about new beginnings and Joyce Meyer has shared over 200 verses and stories of the Bible through this book so I feel like I learned a-lot too!
Too often in life, we wait til the end, to reflect back on all the chances we had to do things differently. Then we wonder why we are suddenly filled with regret for the choices we didn't act upon or roads we didn't take. Too often we fail to follow through with choices because we are being held back by the beliefs it's simply too late and we accept the hand in life we are dealt, instead of taking a step of faith and choosing something different. An opportunity to begin again before it's too late.
Best selling author Joyce Meyers invites us all to simply begin again in her latest book You Can Begin Again. Using real life examples of people who have faced challenges that would cause most of us to dig a hole and crawl into, these people chose to begin their lives again with the challenges they each faced. To a man who believed he want to learn to play the piano and did all he could to learn to play his best, who ultimately freezes when he faces his first competition; to a young model who had everything in life going her way, walks unexpectedly into the propeller of an airplane and leaves her with facing a life unlike any she ever had expected if she lived; to a sculpture who was given a gift through a dream that would forever change what he would do with his life after facing a life with no future in it.
Joyce couples each of these with biblical examples of people who too, have had to face insurmountable odds stacked against them. How using stories like Jonah and Job we can see that when choosing to follow what God has in store often times leads to blessings beyond our wildest dreams but more importantly how we can chose every day to take one simple action that will lead us in a path for a brighter future instead of falling down and staying down. There is simply too many examples to share with you but know that my copy of her book is filled with passages that I have highlighted to help me when I find myself overwhelmed by the circumstances life hands me unexpectedly.
We can learn that despite how we feel we can chose to live a life we dream instead of simply waiting to the end of our lives and wishing we had taken the opportunity to do it sooner rather than not at all. There is simply something in this book for everyone to gain some insight into what you are facing. Do you find yourself struggling with weight loss, finding a job, struggling with loss, health issues, perhaps just finding a reason to get out of bed each morning? Or perhaps you know someone who could use a bit of a motivational push in the right direction? Then pick up this book today and realize that it's simply never too late to begin again!
I received You Can Begin Again by Joyce Meyers compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Groups for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed here are strictly my own. I have loved listening to Joyce's messages for years now and reading her motivational and truly life changing books because she gives it too you straight and doesn't sugar coat anything. She encourages you to leave your pity party of one and take a different path, to live your dream and make it a reality. To rise above the difficulty of life and embrace the blessings God has in store for you. You just never know, the life that you have always wanted, stands right in front of you, if you are willing to simply take a step in the right direction! I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars!

Well known for her teaching abilities on God's Word and life lessons from her own experiences, she presents seventeen chapters on beginning again. Her message is that no matter what, you can do things differently and begin afresh with a new sense of rebirth.
The book's chapters are divided up into three segments: New Beginnings, What's Stopping You?, and Today Is Your Day. Chapters include a variety of stories drawing from Joyce's own past life, tales about true underdogs, miscellaneous quotes, scriptures, lists of things to do, and an ending summary. The premise presented by Joyce is that there are no limits to what God can do in your life when you surrender it to Him and pursue a daring future.
{My Thoughts:}
I enjoy picking up the occasional book by an inspirational author. I like Joyce Meyer, and while I may not agree with everything she mentions in her books, I still find her ideas encouraging. You Can Begin Again forced me to examine where I was at in my stage of spiritual growth. Did I need to change my schedule, my thinking habits, or the way I handled stress? Yes, it presented truth - I realized that it's beneficial to live outside of our limiting boxes of self-reliance.
I didn't fathom how detrimental and unhealthy it was to house negative thoughts when it comes to living a passionate life for God. There's no reason to pull yourself down. You want to reach up and thrive. Joyce Meyer gave me meaningful bits and pieces to chew on. Was I going to remain where I was at, fall deeper into a tedious plan, or break out of my self-created wall? This book helped open my eyes to what I didn't see before.
I really, really liked this title by Joyce Meyer. It has all that is needed for a quick and heart-stirring read during a busy and hectic day. I would recommend reading one chapter daily for a full reflection on her words. The only thing that I personally didn't agree with was the idea of generational curses. Regardless, it was mentioned little and didn't ultimately detract from the rest of the book.
I highly recommend You Can Begin Again to lovers of Joyce Meyer's work, readers who are looking for motivation, and to wandering souls who are searching for second chances.
This book was provided to me by FaithWords in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I have a huge problem starting things because I'm always living in the past. I knew this would be a good book because when I started to read the back cover I started to get tears in my eyes. I like the way the chapters are formatted and how there is a summary and brief story at the end of each chapter. Also, the chapters are short so it doesn't feel like I'm reading the dictionary.
When I read this, I did a lot of highlighting and tabbed the pages because I know I'll need to come back to certain topics when I start to dwell on the past and forget who I am in Christ.
I picked up this book at the library because the title reached out to me. I have felt stuck in a rut for a while, not sure of what was going on with me. I had no energy or desire to do the things I like to do, so I figured I give this book a try. It gave me lots of answers to questions I had. I believe I am just in a holding pattern and that if I listen and talk to God more, he will have a plan B for me, because B is better
Spot on. I love Joyce Meyer; she puts things so simply. Speaks Truth and applies scripture and stories in a way that strikes a chord with everyone. This book really hit home and was very uplifting and encouraging! Move forward and don’t look back! God is the author of your story. Give Him all your burdens and fears and live in peace—wait patiently for His plan to be revealed, for His plan is always better than yours!
I encourage this book to be read by anyone who is hurting, broken hearted, at the end of their rope, needing a reason to continue on this pathway called life!! God truly reached into my own brokenness and renewed the dream within my heart as I read this entire book! Thank God, for Joyce's obedience to God and being the channel through whom this book came from Heaven to earth...
Another outstanding read from Joyce Meyer. Enlightening and motivating. I love how she used a variety of anecdotes, even some of the great prophets from the Bible as examples of how we, too, can evaluate our past and through the power of hope, faith, and prayer start our life anew. This book gives a constant reminder that you're never too old or too defeated to begin again.
This Book was just what I needed at this time of my life and my situation. It has helped me to overcome some of my situations but I am not done yet and I know I can start afresh with my life once more and make it something worthwhile.
I definitely will and have recommend this book to a multitude of my family and friends.
I love Joyce Meyer. She writes with conviction & heartfelt experiences. She tells the truth about her life and she makes the scriptures easy to understand. Tgat is the best about her writing. She explains things so that anyone can understand what she is saying & you don't need a degree in seminary to understand her.
Sometimes life can get boring and all you really need is a little excitement. TRY SOMETHING NEW. You Can Begin Again by Joyce Meyer gives great advice on how to begin again. Having a positive mindset is the key to enjoying life and being willing to TRY SOMETHING NEW😊
