I liked the premise of this diet, the only draw back is the love of solid foods! It's a lot of smoothie like drinks that incorporate Chia, I would have liked a more robust set of recipes on cooking real food with Chia seeds. I do appreciate that this can be catered to your life, unlike the crazier diets where you much deprive yourself of all manner of sinful foods. This is great for dropping that pesky few pounds or a small baby elephant while keeping your energy level high. The smoothie combo's have variety, from fruit sweet to savoury, if you don't like fruity smoothie drinks (to much sugar more than once a day) Good luck to anyone on a diet... it can be hell.

I am using the basic ideas of this diet. For me, I like it because I have finally found a way to eat green vegetables. And it is supposed to reduce inflammation. Other benefits it is supposed to confer are steady energy without ups and downs and weight loss.

The part that I am following is chia smoothies with lots of vegetables, plus fruit and other protein and liquid.

I read this book because I wanted to learn more about the chia seeds in my pantry. I'm not going to go on the Aztec Diet, but there are a few recipes in the book that I'll try.

I liked the information about chia and some of the recipes. But a diet plan that says that Gatorade, Coke, and Special K cereal are fine but warns you not to put too much good wholesome healthy fruit in your smoothies is definitely not for me!
