I wanted to like this book and even though it starts out cute at the cupcake shop, Oracle gets odd at a bar trying to connect with Piper for one night's pleasure. Then as he leaves her place the next morning all the components of angst between them come together.
So now he and his buddy, Jackson have to find out what Piper and her girl, Alexa know about something that happened in Florida long ago.
We really don't know much about Alexa. That bothered me. It's not developed much because the book leaves Piper doing all Alexa's questions spiraling us with a cliffhanger. Point off for cliffhanger. I may forget to follow up with book 2 and certainly will have lost interest in this too underdeveloped story. I'll leave this review at 3 stars because I normally love this author. I'll just be sure they aren't cliffhanger types.

OMG, this book was so good. I loved every minute of it except for the cliffhanger. I need to know what happened. Oracle is Hollywood’s playboy and is so used to all women falling at his feet except one. Piper is different. She doesn’t fall and that intrigues him. They had such a remarkable chemistry. The attraction between them was great. If you were in the room with them, you would be turned on, that is how much the lust they feel for each other radiates off of them. I need the second book now. I have to know what happens and if he get to keep the girl.

Well this story did not go in the direction I thought it would, lol! Pleasantly surprised. Oracle/Zach is a famous actor who has en ego to match. Piper is a romance author. Their first encounter was definitely a rocky one. Piper’s bff comes across some intriguing information but needs Piper to ask Oracle questions to fill in the blanks. What we’re left with is the mother of cliffhangers and luckily a release date of the answers not to far away.

This book was so good!!! I loved it and devoured it. J.S. Cooper has this way of drawing you into a book and having you hooked till you put it down. I will go ahead and tell you that there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book. I have to have that second book pronto. I will go ahead and tell you that this book did not at all go in the direction that I thought it was going to go in at all. It will keep you guessing and you will not be able to figure it out. This is the story of Zach who is a famous actor and Piper who is a romance author. I loved that we got a book about a romance author. Zach is so use to women falling at his feet and Piper just isn't a girl to fall at anyone's feet. However when Piper's BFF comes across some very interesting information Piper is going to have to either ask him to fill in the blanks or to keep guessing and try to figure it out themselves. The sparks fly after Zach tells her they had met before.
Alexa reads a newspaper from Florida regarding a surfer's mysterious disappearance. This is where the mystery begins. She notices something in the photograph. Piper meets Zach again in SF to find out the truth. Whose in the photograph? Will Piper get her answers? How will this end?

OMG mind blowing 😱 Oracle Lion aka Zach Houston A-List actor best known from the Babynaker movies and his best friend Jackson Camden total Rock Star are at a new club when they run into Piper Meadows who is impatiently waiting for her best friend Alexa to show up and is very late. All Piper nets you do is back to the BnB they rented for the girls weekend eat pizza and watch Netflex. Jackson ask if she wants a drink when she turns around and realizes who she was ready to blow off words can't leave her mouth 👄 she flabbergasted as to who this is "freak'n Jackson Camden" of all people until a pretty blond walks up and interrupts them then all the attention is on the pretty blond who's boobs are getting the autograph as requested. That's when Oracle speaks to her whispering in her ear "that could've been you if you could have been able to speak" then he chuckles at her. Anger goes thru her veins and she is ready to ip him a new one. That's when Oracle speaks again asking Jackson what's your friends name. First impressions don't go exactly as they should. Misunderstandings, friends showing up late, and not totally realizing the whole scenario can leave people confused and apprehensive. This part 1 so beware there is cliffhanger
I absolutely loved this story. The storyline was so interesting that it completely captivated me and was so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished with the very last word. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing book. Enjoy happy reading 📚

This is an amazing book that captivates you from the first chapter right up until you get to the Cliffhanger on the last page!! 😤 It’s beautifully written and flows seamlessly. Piper Meadows a romantic book writer and her best friend Alexa an historian are on a girls w/e away break to LA when they end up in a club where they meet A Lister actor Oracle Lion( aka Zach Houston) and Jackson Camden his best friend and rockstar. Piper thinks Oracle is a jerk as they verbally spar of each other, so when Alexa disappears with Jackson Piper goes back to the hotel alone, however when Oracle and Jackson offer to take Alexa back to the hotel nobody is more shocked than Piper to see them and once again they are left alone together but this time they share more than a Pizza together after they realise they have some sort of passionate spark between them but then Piper is thrown into a quandary when Alexa returns and Oracle receives a call from Jackson after which he returns to being a dick again and leaves in a hurry, could the photograph in the paper Alexa saw of a younger Oracle and Jackson with there missing friend be a clue but with hidden secrets and lies and no one trusting anyone who will break first?? And what does it mean for each of them ? This storyline has a lot more to offer and reveal so I need the next book like now !!! I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I was happy to leave.

Oracle Lion is not only the most sought after actor in Hollywood, he's also a complete and utter playboy. Zach Houston, his alter ego in the real world, is a private, kind, more tender version of himself. His best friend, Jackson Camden, is a drop-dead gorgeous rock star, just getting ready to start a world tour. Piper Meadows is in LA for a ladies' weekend with her best friend Alexa. They've rented an airbnb and are busy getting ready for a night on the town. Alexa is somewhat flighty, however, and seems to have already made some plans to go out by herself. Why would she want to go on vacation and leave Piper to fend for herself? They make plans to meet at a bar later, but Piper's the only one to be there on time. Something feels terribly off! Zach has been attracted to Piper since he met her that morning as she tried to decide on a cupcake order. He was disguised and she didn't recognize him. Now that they are all together, the story begins with the four of them splitting into pairs. A fire burns between Zach and Piper and they both recognize where it is going to go. But there's a discomforting mystery, centered around a newspaper article, growing among them all. Everybody seems to know a little something about it except for Piper. She stumbles into uncomfortable territory with a question she asks Zach about his past and the answer might ruin everything. Perfect spot for a cliffhanger!

Jackson and Oracle see her sitting at the bar and decide to try to talk to her. Their fan base see them and go a little nuts. Piper has seen guys like Oracle before. So puffed with his own ego and fame. She doesn't want anything to do with him. It is a complication that she doesn't need or want.
However, slowly, they come together. Each hiding part of their past and secrets. Those secrets come out and start to slowly tear them apart. Will they be able to build a relationship or those secrets keep them apart?
I have always liked J.S. Cooper's writing. Her stories are wonderfully written. With this story, I was drawn in right away and couldn't put it down. Piper is strong in her own right and knows what she wants. Oracle has the ego, but that is hiding a softer, more human part of him. The side characters help build the story and tie everything together. I highly recommend this book.

Sweet, check. Steam, check. Intrigue, check. Ends on a cliffhanger, but it is sooooo good!
Told from opposing POV’s, The Playboy is book 1 in The Players Series. Oracle is a Hollywood movie star and Piper is an author. She’s in LA for a girls trip and they initially meet and instantly connect in a cupcake shop while he is in disguise. The chemistry between them is off the richter and unfortunately, he leaves without getting her phone number. When they meet again later that night, he’s himself and she is not impressed with the Hollywood heartthrob. Instead, she leaves him hanging and he’s even more intrigued.
Circumstances bring them back together again and as they get to know one another, their walls come tumbling down. As their story unfolds, we learn that not only is Oracle a very private person, but he also has secrets he wishes to remain hidden. When he thinks that Piper has ulterior motives to betray him, he leaves again in the coldest way possible.
This book sucked me in from the first chapter. It is a fast paced story, with plenty of sweet and steamy moments. The characters have depth that I haven’t seen before with Ms. Cooper’s characters.
I generally hate cliffhangers, but this book is so well written, that it is worth it. I’m anxiously awaiting Secrets of the Playboy to find out what happens next.

Omg! I was freaking addicted to Oracle Lion aka Zach and Piper's story from the first page.
From the moment they met there was this instant attraction, this pull between them. Yes, he was an a** but he was such a beautiful one with a mouth that makes you want to curse at him and take off your panties at the same time.... Piper is a good person, a great friend and I love her personality, her fire, she says what she's feeling and she's not a pushover. She and Zach have this I don't trust you but I so want you/can't get enough of you relationship.... When Alexa came back with this "plan" after being with Jackson, I was a bit confused. She's not telling the entire story and something is off. I could be wrong but I don't trust her. Also, this story had me like 😬😬. .. The lies, the steam, the angst, the secrets, it had me glued to my kindle needing to know what happens next. Then boom....
The cliffhanger, I wasn't ready for it, I really wasn't. 😟

From the very beginning of the story I was captured into Oracle Lion aka Zach and Piper's world. Hollywood drama, hot sex, comedy, twists and mystery.

Piper and her friend Alexa travelled from San Francisco to LA for a girls weekend. Piper had a funny encounter in a cupcake store with a disguised Oracle. Oracle/Zach is a handsome, egotistical Hollywood star and Piper writes historical romances. That evening Piper and Alexa head to a club where they meet Oracle and his childhood friend Jackson, now a rock star. After a lot of bantering and talking Oracle and Piper leave together and just talk. The next day they end up together and hook up after getting to know more about each other but Oracle storms off when he mistakenly thinks Piper is a journalist. Alexa then informs Piper that she thinks Jackson and Oracle are involved with the disappearance years ago of Radley, heir to billions. Will Oracle and Piper clear up their misunderstandings and have a future together? What is the secret that Jackson and Oracle share about Radley’s disappearance?
I liked the book until the point where I realized it was a cliffhanger with questions left to be answered. The characters were well developed and the story was entertaining. Hopefully the mystery will be solved in the next book and we won’t have to wait too long.

JS Cooper’s ‘The Playboy’ is a fun, modern romance with an unexpected twist. Piper is on typical girls weekend with her BFF Alexa in hopes of finding some fun and excitement. The last thing she expects to find is herself wrapped up in the drama of hot mega star Zach, aka Oracle Lion and his best friend and equally attractive star Jackson. Piper hates Oracle and his ego the second she meets him in a nightclub and he has never had to try to gain attention from a woman in his life, so he is definatley intregued by Piper. The two of them are left alone while thier best friends go off for the evening and lets just say that there is some connection that neither of them can deny. You will find yourself smiling and giggling while reading and then be totally surprised when you are hit with the plot twist; this is not just a romance book!! There is a suspense twist thrown in here too!! I was like ?!?! I did not even see it coming! I loved this story so far and CAN NOT wait for the second half of it to come out. I read this book in one sitting and promise you will love it. What is better than an amazing and fun romance? One with a twist!

Now that I gave you the disclaimer I can tell you that this book had me on a rollercoaster ride. Piper is in LA on a girls weekend with her best friend, Alexa when she meets A- list actor Zach Houston AKA Oracle Lion and his best friend Rock Star Jackson. Piper thinks Oracle is an a$$ but soon falls for him. After a misunderstanding he leaves in a snit. Zach and Jackson are hiding something from their past and Alexa puts Piper up to finding out. We won’t find out until the next book what is really going on. I like all the characters except Alexa, I think she wasn’t a real friend to Piper with all the secrets she is keeping but hopefully she will redeem herself in the next book. A lot of the misunderstandings could have been solved if everyone would have communicated. Piper should have understood where Zach was coming from when Alexa took their picture and made that stupid comment. Can’t wait to read the next book.

First of all.... THIS BOOK IS NOTHING CLOSE TO WHAT I’D IMAGINED!!! It’s sexy, witty, funny, and so f****** suspenseful! It’s so different from any other JS Cooper book I have personally read. Piper and Zach (Oracle) have an instant connection and to-die-for banter. I love how the connection they feel for each other leaves them comfortable to be themselves and trust each other despite not knowing each other well. The sexual energy between the two is intoxicating and left me craving so much more. They had constant back and forth banter that left me hot and made me laugh throughout the entire book. I praise JS Cooper for her incredibly witty dialogue and amazing plot, full of twists, heat and breathtaking suspense. There was not a moment in this book where I went back and forth with my theories on the secrets Zach has hidden and the ulterior motives of the characters. I went into this book thinking it was a stand-alone but was pleasantly (and frustratedly) surprised that there will be a sequel. I’m very excited to get the answers I’ve been going crazy for next month.

The Playboy is the first book I have read by J. S. Cooper and I enjoyed it. The story is about Zach Houston, who is also known as Oracle Lion and is a famous rock star and actor, and Piper Meadows. When they meet it is not like, lust or anything other than dislike from Piper's side. As Zach is used to having any woman he wants Piper's attitude is a bit confounding for him and presents a challenge. But she is not going to fall for him easily and it will take more than his flashy, bad boy, sexy persona to get her to even like him, let alone get with her.
Be warned that this is the first book in a series and ends on a cliffhanger, which is not indicated in the book description..........bad author for doing that. But if you do decide to read it then you will most likely be like me and can't wait for the next book to see what happens.

Overcome prejudice to discover the other
Good story, quite tender, hot and well written.
The story begins with a good prologue that defines this story: the one you hate with passion can become the one you love with passion.
The story seems simple at the beginning, but towards the middle of the story, everything changes completely unexpectedly, distressing everyone's life, and it ends with a very well placed cliffhanger :(, leaving more and more doubts hovering as for the best friend Alexa.
Oracle (real name Zach) is a very well-known actor, associated with a bad reputation as a playboy, so when he meets Piper, once anonymously and another under his real identity, she pushes him away because she doesn't want to have anything to do with a womanizer.
However, as the night passes, Zach seeks to dismantle this representation that she has, if only to prove that he is not the man described by the tabloids, until that, again, Zach acts to so as to be hated by Piper when his secret past resurfaces.

The Playboy wasn’t playing around! This book was steamy hott with a touch of mystery.
Zach Houston, aka Hollywood heartthrob Oracle Lion, and his buddy Jackson hit the big time but they also left behind some secrets along the way. Piper Meadows is an aspiring writer trying to catch her big break. She and her best friend Alexa take a mini vacation to L. A. and meet the two famous hotties in a bar. Piper can’t believe that THE Oracle Lion is totally in to her. I mean how many people dream of meeting their Hollywood crush? I loved that she didn’t let a Hollywood bigwig think he could walk all over her. While the two make a connection, Piper and Alexa also make a connection to Houston, Jackson, and a missing person. Cooper does a great job of dropping clues to the mystery of the missing person. Leaving us to question the hero’s character. The book does leave us on a major cliffhanger but luckily the next book is soon to be released. Looking forward to some much needed answers.

I've just finished reading the playboy and I loved Oracle and Pipers first meeting in the bakery as piper didnt recognise Oracle. Theres an instant chemistry that seems to have started between them as they flirt and tease with each other. I loved the chemistry between them. I thought Jackson was a bit full of himself sometimes too. Then Oracle accuses Piper of being a journalist rather than a romance writer and throws money on her bed after their one night stand! I do hope Zach finds out that piper is innocent.
It's also suspicious that Alexa only talked with Jackson all night as they certainly were both up for something more.
I'm looking forward to finding out why the case is suddenly open for searching for their lost friend and what will happen to their stardom if anything does get found out.

I was very surprised by the direction of the story. Piper meets Zach Houston aka Oracle Lion a while he trying to not be noticed at a cupcake shop. He says his name is Jimbo Jethro Clampett. . Later at a club, Piper and her friend Alexa see Oracle Lion and his best friend Jackson Camden who is a famous rock star. There is underlying attraction between Jackson and Alexa and Piper and Oracle. Piper fights the attraction because Oracle comes across as a jerk. They pair us and leave. The next morning Alexa discovers something in a Flordia newspaper about a surfer who has ties to Oracle and Jackson. The girls want to uncover this mystery. What happens next? We need to read about that in the next book, because this one ends in a cliffhanger. I want to figure this out and hope for Pipper and Zach to find them together instead of apart. I really like their chemistry and want them to have a HEA. I don't trust Alexa, she doesn't seem on the up and up and I think she has motives that we don't know about yet.
I really enjoy JS Coopers books. I really like this one, I am not sure where the story is going but I am hooked. But I am not sure if I am going to like the outcome yet. I am on the fence and want to find and read more. I want more.. JS Cooper has me hook line and sinker.

Piper is a historical romance writer trying to branch out. Her and her best friend, Alexa, take a girl weekend to LA. There she has a run in with a strange but funny guy at a bakery. Then waiting for Alexa at a club she meets a rockstar and an actor. The Actor, Oracle Lion, is a jerk and they clash. He’s use to women falling all over him and she’s just not that girl. They hangout and they start to bond until Alexa comes back the next morning. Then it’s all misunderstandings and secrets. Piper and Oracles first night ends with him angry and her being hurt. The book first off ends with a cliffhanger so that was very upsetting. I like the story and where it was going but goodness the characters are a headache. They go back and forth from good to annoying. I plan on looking for the next book because I am very much sucked in.

I read an ARC of this book for J. S. Cooper, so this is my complete and honest opinion.
In the first chapter I liked Oracle. He seemed like he was more down to earth and truly didn’t like the fan attention that a celebrity gets in public. As the chapters rolled out I started to quickly hate him. Just because he has a past and now is a celebrity doesn’t mean you can act like a jerk to everyone. I feel like he has a lot of maturing to do and pulling his head out of his butt.
Piper has been in one bad relationship after another. She’s not looking for anything except for a fun weekend with her best friend. Unfortunately she can’t even get that. When she does give Oracle a chance he treats her like sh** and then wants a second chance. Her friend is being selfish and keeping something from her. I really feel bad for Piper and how everybody is treating her.

Oracle has to find out how much Piper and her friend know about him and his best friends past..... how far will Oracle go to keep the past hidden?

Well this book hooked me from the first page! I’ve always been a J.S Cooper fan, and she didn’t disappoint with this book.

Much to her surprise so bumps in to hottie musician Jackson Camden while she waits for Alexa to finally get to the club. Jackson get distracted by a few fans at the bar Piper bumps into non other than Oracle Lion aka Zack another hottie Hollywood “A” lister that she totally pretends not to know.
This story will have you guessing what going to happen next,the playful banter between Piper and Zack is funny they are so cute together.
