Okay, I admit I was a bit iffy to start this considering that the hero, before he got together with the heroine, had an affair with her mom.
Nope. You did not read that wrong. It says right there on the blurb.So imagine my surprise when I actually ended up loving/enjoying this book.
Mila Ferrera is not a new author to me. I've read her another book from her called Spiral, which, again, surprised the heck out of me. I know she writes character driven stories layered with angst with some of the most emotionally broken characters I've come across. But what really drew me to Mila Ferrera's writing is her sensitive approach and knowledge about psychological disorders in her stories.
I especially liked the way she wrote about anxiety disorders in this particular book. Stella was a vibrant junior college at Wellesley until one day, she went back home scared and defeated. Her life literally stopped and became a prisoner in her own home. Her parents didn't quite know how to handle her. They thought she was acting up and urge her to "get over it." Yeah, lovely parents. *sarcasm*
Her mother had this bright idea to enroll Stella in some art lessons done by her current fling, Daniel. Now if you must know, Daniel is an artist. Not exactly struggling but not rolling in money either. To supplement his income, he offers "one-on-one" art lessons to wealthy cougars. In other words, he services them and gives them temporary pleasure. Daniel is conflicted about it but his personality is such that he appears not to take anything seriously so nobody really sees the person he truly is until Stella.
I also like the build up in their relationship. This wasn't the case of insta-love or lust. Although, they did find each other fascinating. The Stella because of her condition and fear, misinterpreted some of Daniel's action which led her to I wasn't really bothered by it because the author was able to actually explain their motivation. Did I agree with Stella's decision? Not entirely but looking at it from her POV, it was a logical and consistent with her character.
I rooted for Stella, although at first I wasn't sure I liked her but later on, she grew on me. Her character growth was tremendous. She really fought back and tried to regain her life. I loved that her condition wasn't glossed over by lurve. Quite the opposite, in fact. Despite finally having Daniel in her life, she still went and dealt with her anxiety by actually going to a professional. She didn't get better because of Daniel's lurve or whatever, she got better because she worked at it. And that is why I really liked this book.
If you can get over the icky factor, then pick up this book. It's really quite fascinating. :)
Edit:Daniel stopped sleeping with the mom after he met Stella and discontinued their arrangement which cost him a huge commission and .

I enjoyed reading Spiral and Only Between Us so I was excited to read Daniel's story. Unfortunately, the scenes in the first chapter were just too much for me.

So J'Anne is gonna get a kick out of this because she was adamant about this book being a no-no. But Michele and I gave it a try. So here goes...
This book starts out with young Daniel hooking up with Liza, a married cougar, who pays Daniel for sex by commisioning his art. She decides to pay him to give her recluse daughter,20, weekly art lessons. Stella knows her mom is banging Daniel and STILL goes after him
So like mother,like daughter, she offers to pay him $1000 to deflower her!! REALLY??? And she sleeps with him!!
And they NEVER discuss the fact that he has banged them both. She even makes a comment that her mom is probably much better than her in bed..
That's what your worried about Stella?? That's all?? Your sure bout that?
So they hook up, keep it a secret from the cougar mom. Stella suffers from panic attacks, and she's trying to overcome them. Not that fact that her new man has porked mommy dearest. Once mommy finds out....NOTHING HAPPENS... no big fights, no yelling, no throwing insults. NADA.
Thats pretty much it. The last part of the book was helping Stella heal from her stupid panic attacks. I was so freaking bored, waiting for the drama, the fighting. I was completely annoyed with Stella's lack of personality, I skimmed the last half of the book. It was pure torture.

Weighed down by fear, Stella's life is slowly coming apart. Home from college, and no plans of going back, she slowly starts to withdraw from life. No one understands her, lonely and afraid. She doesn't even understand what's happening to her...
It feels like I'm dying. Every single time, I'm sure I'm either going to die or that I'm going utterly insane.
Her mother decides to take action, she hires her Boy Toy/Artist to help Stella through Art Therapy.
Daniel is a successful artist and a game player. His success rides mostly on his ability to woo the wives of successful business men. When Stella's mothers offers him some good money to give art lessons to Stella, he takes the job. What he wasn't counting on was the rude, and insulting girl to completely change his life.
This is where the story gets really interesting. We have all read stories with the tortured hero and messed up Heroine. And t here are so many books out there with the ‘broken souls coming together’ premise, but with Everything Between Us it's so much different.
Stella isn't broken or tortured. She was just a prisoner in her own head.
Honestly? I think all of this would be easier if I could point to one thing, one moment, one person, and say this is why. I could explain it, then. Understand the why of it. Blame it on something other than myself. If I were a victim, maybe it would keep everyone from being so frustrated with me.
Daniel was much the same, trapped inside himself too. He puts on a show, controls what people see. Hiding behind his charming wall, his playful mask. Protecting himself.

Rejection
Failure
Afraid he will never never be good enough.
But the more time he spends with Stella the more bare and raw he feels, he begins to like it. The over powering urge to pull away, tugs at him, but Stella has a power over him.
I have no defences against her. I'm so fascinated by her, so wrapped up in who she is and what she's doing that I have no mental energy left to pretend.
She Sees him. He sees her. It's powerful and emotional and you're cheering for them both to be what each other needs to work through their issues.
"I can see right through you, Daniel," I breathe, stroking his hair. "I see you even when you hide."
It was so refreshing to not have the underlying problem of their issues, something so horrific that your heart is breaking and tearing apart for them. And trust me there are a few of those reads. But to read about such a life altering condition and have no understanding of how you came to be that way, made me feel as much and as strongly as I did with one of those dark reads that we seem to love so much.
There is a power to it. An understanding of helplessness for Stella.
It hits me hard and fast- I can see her. Not angry, not terrified, not insulting and mean, just Stella, desperately wanting to be free. If someone handed her the key to this cage she's in, would she accept it? Would she use it?
While they have this undeniable attraction, their relationship actually develops slowly and gradually. Both unsure of where it could go. Her with her issues and his with his. Plus the deal with him being her mother's "Mister" hahahahah.
But their pull is strong and while the issue of how they met isn't something that I would feel comfortable with, you kinda don't think about it in the moment. They have a hold over you. Drawing you into to them and their world. You just want them both to find what they both need.
I wait, wondering why it means so much to me, why I want her to surrender more than I've wanted anything for a long time. Is it just the idea of winning? Because it doesn't feel like a game
Can they both face their fears and move forward with each other. Be what each of them need and be that for themselves... ? Or will it be too much, too soon. Can the one person who sees you, be enough to face your ultimate fears?
"I want you to join me out in the world, because I'd like it better if you were with me."
This was brilliant. I loved this book. It is absolutely beautifully written. So different and unique that it held my attention from the first page. The writing in this book is absolutely perfect. The words Mila chooses are just spot on. I have this really bad pet peeve when reading an emotional charged scene that I can sometimes find myself thinking, oh my god why did you say it like that??? With Everything Between Us there is never a feeling that more would have been better.
Mila has done an exemplary job in portraying the life altering damage of dealing with an illness such as Stella's. And how fear and panic can breakdown lives, relationships and ones self belief. But also the powerful journey of overcoming ones fears. Absolutely amazing !!!

I felt sorry for the h in this book. She's in the beginning stages of agoraphobia, doesn't know whats happening to her. Her so-called friends in college turn their back on her, her rich parents don't care about much except appearances and are thinking about institutionalising her - so even her home is not a safe haven.
h can't go outside , her only outlet is cooking which her mom looks down on.
Her mom then insists on art lessons as a therapy hiring her latest boy-toy (the H) to come to their home and teach her for a few weeks. At this point no-one truly cares about the h or is making the least effort to understand her.
I didn't want to judge the H but I didn't think much of him in the beginning. He is a struggling artist, but pretty much brash and thick skinned. H is also a cocky, unashamed manho. When bored rich married women approach him, he doesn't mind, in fact he enjoys sleeping with them for cash and favours or recommendations that help him get more commissions.
Its a win-win situation for him all the way - free sex, no attachments, plus he gets ahead in work! He reminded me of one of some of those male gigolos who actually enjoyed their work! He is not in the least ashamed of what he does , even when the h tries to make him and is confident in his own skin.
Honestly again not to be judgemental , but I don't consider this guy ideal H material. I mean he was sleeping with the h's mother , for God's sake!! - and that too for some loose cash - but still he enjoyed it, he thought she was really hot, there were some explicit scenes of H with h's mom.
I mention all this to show the h's reduced options. Like I said no one else really gave a shit about her and she is reduced to this - taking up with her mom's toy on the side - bcos he's the only one who eventually gives a shit and who tries to understand. In the course of the art lessons while the H is first a jerk, he hears something from a friend that makes him aware that the h could be having a genuine psychiatric condition and may need help. He feels sorry for her and also thinks she is beautiful.
But the book was very well written with a light touch inspite of the heavy issues dealt with here ( h has panic attacks, H's mom has cancer etc.) and the dialogue was snarky and fun and downright beautiful at times. And the h was so likeable - she was so shy and scared, even sex made her start having her panic attacks - but she was also genuine, sweet and courageous. She was also non-judgemental about the H being with her mom (unlike me,lol) and tbh I liked that. This book was her victory in every way.
The H/h definitely had a connection, the book was well researched, honestly I was drooling when I read about the h's baking and now am a couple of recipes richer for the book,lol. And some of the writing was just amazing, like when the h told the H she loved him.
The H, he was there for her, the only one there for her really and he loved her but really I felt the h was the hero of the book. The author makes even the manho H into a three dimensional person with layers that you can't help liking - he's smart, a great friend, son and brother, he's talented but afraid to rely on the talent solely, instead hiding behind what he's doing sleeping around to help his work.
In the end you're really happy for both of them, leaving them equally excited and hopeful for their future together.

And I thought 'Only Between Us' was a work of sheer wonder.
Man was I in for a surprise!
Knowing Daniel from OBU and reading about Stella from the blurb, I was gearing up for a very bad-boy-meets-bad-girl=explosives-fireworks-sex-on-the-beach story!
I mean common! We are talking about Daniel!
Man-whore-sleeping-with-cougars Daniel!
But I should've known better.
Mila made poetry worthy love story from the ashes of abuse, off course she can infuse an equally traumatizing condition into a heart warming story of hope and faith.
And that's exactly what she has done with EBU.
I never thought I'd say this, but I think I definitely liked EBU more than OBU.
I don think I can pin point to you a solid why.
But I guess subtracting Katie from the equation helped a lot.
So briefing it up, Stella had a VALID 'condition'.
No she wasn't broken, she was just a prisoner of her own head.
I thought the circumstances in which she meets Daniel would be highlighted and the entire book would revolve around that.
To my surprise, it wasn't even an issue! Mila just dived into the matter of importance and stuck to it.
No frills, no artificial flavoring, no over dramatizing human nature and NO over exaggerating the 'problem'.
Girl meets man-whore
Man-whore realizes he needs to revise and retry. Everythng!
Girl realizes she needs to do some major 'breaking bad'.
Somewhere down the line they fall in 'Fisher Amelia' kinda love (to those who aren't familiar with her work, it mean the purest form of love that gives joy to the world).
And then they fight their own 'demons', fight each others and then some together.
And as a reader, its beautiful to be a part of.
It breaks my heart every time I think of Daniel.
Hallelujah he wasn't raped as a kid, or has mommy issues.
Normal people can also wear masks people!!! They have their own reasons.
It doesn't make them a nutcase.
I hate it how authors normally always tag 'secrets' with a stomach revolting back story to justify it.
It is not even necessary. Thank God Mila hasn't jumped onto that band wagon.
And I esp LOVE how delicately she handles such cases without crossing that thin line of decency.
Girl, you are so going places, I assure you.
As a girl, I really wish every soul in need out there finds herself a Daniel.
One Daniel, could change your entire life.
One Daniel, could change your world.
And with his 'special skills', he could also rock your world (if you know what i mean ;p).
Sometimes, patience is just what the doctor prescribed.
And if you get lucky, you might find it all wrapped up in a Daniel package :)

Apesar de tener un final "feliz" no puedo evitar sentir un poco de ansiedad sobre este libro...
Me gusto la historia, la recomiendo pero tengo sentimientos encontrados...

I liked this book so much you read books where the hero is broken or the heroine broken or they both are and then they unite and become stronger but there broken because outer damage that has been done to them that then inflicted on them physical, mentally emotionally. But in this story the demons live within they are not face pain that has been caused by someone else its within them it is them .

4.5 stars!
This author has seriously surprised me. I'd never read any of her books before but this book sounded good so I figured I'd give her a shot. I was expecting something cute, fun, but not anything close to what I actually got. This book hooked me from the beginning and I didn't stop till I finished. I brought it with me everywhere; I was at the point where I was walking to the train and reading at the same time because I couldn't stop reading.
Stella won't leave her house. At all. Nobody understands what's wrong with her, not even herself. But every time she tries to go outside, she has a panic attack that leaves her wishing she could die. I really liked Stella and that she could appear both strong and weak at the same time. I also loved that she wasn't afraid to speak her mind, even if it made people uncomfortable. Her family life is a mess and I especially hated her mother, who only seemed to care about herself and how things would make her look. Which brings me to my biggest problem: cougars.
This is entirely my fault but I guess I didn't really read the book blurb as well as I should have because I hate books with cougars. It's just one of my book peeves that I do not like reading no matter what. So when I realized that Daniel not only has "sexual relationship" with older women but with Stella's mother, I was disgusted. It was so hard for me to understand why he had sex with those women. I don't know what I felt more; disgust or sadness. Mila Ferrera really pushed things by making the older women his love interests mother. I thought for sure I wasn't going to be able to get passed this, but somehow I did.
Daniel sleeps with the rich cougars so they will buy his art. For him, using sex to get what he wants barely even registers. They don't matter to him and he knows all they want is to feel young and beautiful again so he plays the part and in return gets lots of money and exposure. I think the main reason that he did those things was because a part of him was insecure about his art work and didn't think he could get anyone to buy them any other way. Which of course he couldn't be more wrong about but insecurities are a pain to get rid of. When Daniel meets Stella, something about her interest him and the more time he spends with her, the more he wants to know about her. At first, I just couldn't stop thinking "Ew, he slept with your mother!" but at some point, I just stopped caring. I know that she didn't mean anything to him and I could tell that he really cares for Stella.
I love when books surprise me and this one definitely did. I look forward to reading more from this author but PLEASE, no more cougars! If you like New Adult that's about more then sexy times (though there is plenty of that here too ;)) then pick this book up.

Everything Between Us by Mila Ferrera was a sensational story. I loved everything about it! This book took me completely by surprise. I was expecting another NA romance, but what I got was so much more. Daniel and Stella stole my heart from the first moment they met. I always talk about how the connection between the two main characters is important to me. The author knew exactly how to pull us into the story and to tell you the honest truth ... I miss Stella and Daniel! <3 They were such a great couple to fall in love with! This was my first time reading a book from Mila Ferrera. I am sold on her writing style! I loved it! I had this huge smile at the end of this book and it left me with a happy feeling :)
Everyday life is a battle for Stella. She can't do most of the things a regular young adult does since she suffers from panic attacks. Even the most simple activity brings her fear. She is trying her best to fight this condition. Her parents are showing no emotional support to Stella during this difficult time, so she feels like she is all alone. When her mom decides to hire Daniel to give her some art lessons, she is not happy. Stella knows that her mom is sleeping around with Daniel, but even then she can't stop these feelings that are slowly developing for him.
I'm so happy that authors are writing about real life conditions. There is no such thing has a perfect person. We all have our personnal issues and fears. I like to read about characters that are REAL and that make me FEEL all kinds of different emotions. Stella and Daniel are the perfect example. Especially Daniel. He's a ''Man-whore''. I have to admit that reading about Daniel and Stella's mom was awkward! It just felt weird ... Anywhooo! I got past that and the rest of the story was just AMAZING! I loved how we got to see the transformation that both Stella and Daniel went through. They came a long way from when they first met. These two are just perfect for each other!
I also got attached to Daniel's parents, Caleb and Romy while reading this book. Romy and Caleb have their own book. We can read about how they fell for each other in Only Between Us. I liked them so much that I one-clicked Only Between Us ASAP! I can't wait to read it :) To my surprise I found another Mila Ferrera book on my kindle (Spiral). Yes, I said FOUND! (Don't judge ... I own over 1000 ebooks on my kindle and I have a little one-click addiction ... so of course I can't remember everything I one-click ... lol!!!) Needless to say ... I'm a happy camper! :)

I really liked this book. I thought I would have some problems with the main character, Daniel, with him being a gigolo and sleeping with women for money. However, the author did an excellent job connecting me to Daniel and Stella.
Daniel is hired by Stella’s mother to be her art teacher. Stella’s mother thinks that the art classes with help Stella with her panic attacks and anxiety. Daniel is a talented starving artist; an artist who gets by sleeping with cougars who pay him with cash or by promoting his art. Daniel does not do relationships so he is more than happy to exchange sex for money. Stella wants nothing to do with Daniel. She hates that her mother is making her take art lessons with Daniel, but she has no choice because her mother is threatening her. Daniel thinks that Stella is just another spoiled rich girl and the only reason he agreed to teach is for the money. However, Daniel and Stella soon learn things about each other and themselves as they spend more and more time together.
I liked that the first time Daniel saw Stella, he did not immediately feel an attraction to her.
There was no insta-love, no insta-infatuation. There was a friendship before anything else.
“I’ve never been around anyone who saw me as clearly as you do, who pushed back as hard as you do. You feel whole to me. And I feel whole when I’m with you.”
The story also brought to light what people who suffer anxiety and panic attacks have to deal with. Stella left college because she could not handle being out in public or dealing with anything. She did not know what was wrong with her and started feeling helpless. Daniel was so strong and understanding as were his friends who I loved. I loved Caleb. I loved Romy.
Sometimes, the miscommunication between Daniel and Stella bothered me especially when I thought that their feelings were well established. It got frustrating, but I have to say, I really liked the story a lot so I was able to overlook some of those issues.

It would be easy to skirt the bigger issue of this series and ignore the implications. Young artists fucking patrons to get somewhere in the art world. It’s not treated lightly here, but it’s just the backdrop. There are aspects of the artworld that are no different than what models and actors must also face. To get your talent noticed, you have to screw a few people along the way. Losing bits of your soul as you go.
I loved the heroine. This was such an unexpectedly, emotionally beautiful book.

Tengo al rededor de 3 años lidiando con problemas de ansiedad que me llevan a ataques de pánico. Dejé que mi vida se desmoronara a causa de ello, paré de asistir a la escuela, dejé de salir con amigos y por un tiempo no quería tener contacto con nada ni nadie. A pesar de acudir por ayuda y entender qué es lo que me está pasando, hay días en que todo se desmorona y yo aún peleo por mantener al menos algo a flote. Este libro tiene un significado importante para mí, justamente por eso.
Daniel, es un pintor que vive regido por sus propias reglas. Duerme con mujeres adineradas para poder vender cuadros, nunca se enamora y siempre se mantiene al margen de la situación. Esto pasa hasta que una de ellas, le pide que le de lecciones de arte a su hija, Stella, una chica que se ha aislado de todo y todos en las paredes de su casa. Stella no sale a la calle, no tiene amigos y no sabe cómo explicar lo que le ocurre.
Mientras más lecciones de arte van teniendo juntos, Daniel nota que Stella mira a través de él, ve exactamente el chico que en realidad es y conoce más su forma de pensar que cualquier otra persona. Aunque Daniel se está enamorando de ella y ella de él, siempre quedará el miedo de Stella por salir al mundo. ¿Cómo podría todo funcionar?
Había comenzado a leer "Only Between Us", pero algo me rogó que me detuviera de hacerlo y así lo hice. Everything in Between Us, maneja el mismo mismo que el primero, pero puede ser perfectamente leído aparte.
Me encanta desde el desarrollo de la trama romántica, hasta la parte de la ansiedad y ataques de pánico. Creo que soy un poco como Stella, temo enamorarme y que alguien vea el gran desastre qué hay detrás de una chica con un problema así, especialmente porque no muchas personas lo comprenden.
Es hermoso de leer, muy fácil y es algo diferente a lo que he leído últimamente. Me encanta que Daniel rompa todas sus reglas por Stella, que intente entender lo que ella esté pasando y el apoyo que le brinda.

First Thoughts:
Celeste: 4.5 stars What a story! Dark and gritty…and a little crazy! Loved it!
Ana: 5 stars Great read…couldn’t put it down!
Plot, Pacing and Style:
Celeste: I definitely love reading about characters that are “damaged goods”, and Everything Between Us is chock full of baggage. The opening scene is something else so I knew from page 1 that this book was danced over the line with so many issues…and I loved it. The pacing was perfect. I read the entire book in one sitting and went to bed at 1 am, so that should tell you it was a total page turner. :) This had the dual POVs and on the outside it appeared that Stella was so broken, but this way we learned that she was trying to be strong. The same can be said for Daniel, but in reverse; he appeared so confident, yet chapters from his POV showed us his vulnerability
Ana: This was a very different story from anything I’ve read. I really enjoy alternating POVs and, because of the plot, it was great to be able to understand the depth of emotions being experienced by these characters. The pace was perfect…the writing, smooth. The reader is provided with just enough information to understand just how broken these characters are without feeling to overwhelmed by information. The author did a fantastic job at ensuring that I would fall in love with the characters despite their flaws and maybe even because of them.
The MCs:
Celeste: As I said in the section before this, both of these characters appear to be one way, but are actually both well rounded. It seemed like Daniel brought his strength to Stella, and she brought her vulnerability to Daniel. In the end they really helped each other become complete people. It was pretty awesome. Even though Stella seemed so damaged, I found that I really liked her and related to her so well. I think it goes back to the inner strength that I could always see in her.
Ana: These characters were in turn strong, vulnerable, happy, sad, angry and confused. They relied on each other but that give and take between them didn’t make them weak, instead it strengthens them beyond what they can be alone. I loved Stella’s desire to get better and Daniel’s soft heart. Even though these two were broken, they captured my heart right away!
Romance /Chemistry:
Celeste: Holy hot stuff!! Stella and Daniel had a connection from the second they met each other, it was both an emotional and physical one. Nothing like a manwhore and a virgin to get us all worked up. Every. Single. Time. And, let’s not forget there was a good bit of dirty talk. Yes, my friends, this book was all kinds of win in the romance department.
Ana: Yes…what Celeste said. The romance was delicious…and the chemistry undeniable! There were just enough soft kisses to to make me smile and just enough hot encounters to make my heart beat faster!!
Title/Cover:
Celeste: The title is pretty good, I think it means that everything between Stella and Daniel was just that, between them and no one else, which is why their connection was so special. The cover though, is outstanding. It’s the glass room and I love how they are looking out. Perfect!
Ana: I wasn’t sure about the cover when I first saw it but once I began reading I realized it was perfect. The image and the title tell you so much about the story and you don’t even realize it until you’ve dived into it.
Ending:
Celeste: I did get the HEA I was looking for, but I am so greedy…I wish it had more detail and maybe spanned over a chapter or two. I guess I felt like Stella and Daniel had been through so much I wanted their happy pages to share in the spotlight too instead of just feeling like it got glossed over.
Ana: This book was too short! I was so invested in these characters, their evolution, their progress…and their love…that I needed more. Don’t get me wrong, I was very happy with the end but, at the same time, hugely disappointed that it was over. I need one more chapter…just one more!
Gripes/suggestions:
Celeste: I think I need a little more closure still. I know that Stella was doing so much better, but an epilogue would have sealed the deal for me. I want to know where she was living, how it was working out, did she have set backs? How was Daniel? How was his mom? Now…..maybe these questions will be answered in another book? If that’s the case then ignore me! I know Romy and Caleb have their story Only Between Us, so maybe there’s more to come? :)
Ana: I agree with Celeste here. I wanted more. I love that changes are happening and things are moving in the right direction but I wasn’t ready to let these characters go. I need to know they’re OK and that they’re happy!

Celeste: YES! It was a quick and easy read, but I enjoyed and savored every page. If you love a great romance story with some less than perfect characters, this is for you.

Celeste: YES! It was a quick and easy read, but I enjoyed and savored every page. If you love a great romance story with some less than perfect characters, this is for you.

I just couldn't get over the ick factor that Daniel
slept with both mother and daughter. I know you
go into the story aware of this fact, but it was just
soooo freaking creepy and gross every time Ferrera
wrote that Liza (the mom) purrs whenever she sees
Daniel. Kudos for the author for never making the
book overtly dramatic and full of angsty conflict
because of this weird triangle.
I understand why people are upset and think that
the portrayal of anxiety or agoraphobia is so freaking
insulting. It almost felt like Stella got over her disorder
because Daniel was there for her. However, as reader
I understand that this is fiction and I am not butt hurt
by the lack of research the author did on this disorder.
I loved the fact that Daniel had a strong group of
friends and his family was pretty awesome. You
don't really get strong family support in NA books.
I also liked the fact that Ferrera did not use rape
as a plot device, I see it used so often in NA books,
which is why I tend to avoid them at all costs.
Overall, the story has an ick factor but you go into
it knowing this. Literally the first scene in the book
is Daniel being jacked off by Stella's mom after having
sex. So read this book at your own expense. The story
moves fast and it's entertaining.

Wow, what a fantastic read. I was totally addicted to reading this book, I just HAD to find out what happened. Everything Between Us had such a unique premise for me with a complex collection of characters. The detailing of Estella’s condition was amazingly vivid and I had tears for her. But also felt compassion for Daniel and his challenges in life.
Daniel is a fantastic artist that questions his talent, but to add extra cash to his pocket, Daniel does gives art lessons to wealthy women (wink wink); plus teaching at the community college. Daniel has a brother overseas serving for his country and parents that he visits weekly. Daniel has a strong personality on the outside that shows charm, wit and hotness. On the inside, Daniel is insecure and plays games so he doesn’t have to deal.
Daniel has a major deal with his current extra cash lover (Liza) and when he enters the mansion he spots Estella her daughter (better known to friends as Stella). He is definitely intrigued by her, but from what Liza says about her, she is crazy.
Stella has everything she ever asked for, attends a prestigious college and has friends, but suddenly her world comes crashing down. Stella started having panic attacks and her life only got worse. Not being able to handle college life anymore and the fact her roommate was affected by her attacks, Stella went home to seek help. Since meeting her mother’s latest toy, Stella cannot stop thinking about him. Daniel, not Dan, Danny or Danielle, just Daniel.
Daniel is commissioned to paint three pieces for Liza and thinking that some art lessons may also help Stella, Daniel is paid in advance for daily lessons. Daniel isn’t really looking forward to giving the lessons, Stella seems to have a way of seeing through his shell and into his heart. This can only be trouble and it is from day one.
Stella is determined to get rid of Daniel and does everything she can think of to turn him away. Daniel is stubborn in his own right and continues with the lessons. Slowly, slowly Stella gives in and starts to draw with Daniel; she is discovering that he isn’t just some man that uses women for money, but there is something hidden underneath.
Liza goes to a retreat for a week and during this time a severe storm hits; Stella by herself in the mansion starts to panic when the lights go out. Daniel still arrives for his regular appointment with her and ends up staying. One thing leads to another and they both start to uncover each other’s secrets. Can Daniel help Stella overcome her panic attacks (or agoraphobia)? Will Stella decide Daniel is worth fighting for and seek professional help? What will happen if Liza finds out about their feelings for each other? Will Daniel and Stella be together when they live in such different worlds?
I was absolutely addicted to this book from the get go. It was extremely interesting reading about the panic attacks that Stella has and the treatment that is required to beat them. I felt so many emotions throughout reading Everything Between Us and I utterly loved the writing style of Ms Ferrera. I had to grab another of her books and can’t wait to get stuck in. I highly recommend this books to all new adult romance readers, fantastic!

I got a copy in exchange for an honest review
I have some mixed feelings about this book, there where parts I really liked, but also some parts that I didn't like and even some parts that where so disgusting it ruined part of the book for me. But I wanted to keep reading and in the end I did enjoy this book.
Let me start with the disgusting part, Daniel sleeps with older women for money and I think that's disgusting and then when he falls in love with the daughter of his current fuck body it's just weird. I just couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that he did this for money and wondered if there really wasn't another option to get money that wa sbetter than this. After the initial scene with grossed me out it started like a normal romance book. Daniel is teaching Stella art lessons and her om hopes this will help Stella who has Argoraphobia, which means she get's panic attacks when she's outside the house.
I liked how the story progressed although I thought it was a bit weird that Stella her phobie is such a big part of the story and at other points seems not to play such a big part at all. So she has this fear, but certainly in the first part we don't really see her struggle with it, she says she trying, but we don't read about this and I thought this was a bit weird. I wanted to see her trying to get outside and then having a panic attack not just hear her say she's trying while we don't read about those efforts. I know struggling with a phobia is difficult, but I would've liked if we read more about it and her struggled, but we only get to read about that at the end of the book.
The story was a bit predictable at some parts and I think the plot of a man-whore falling in love with an innocent girl is just a bit overdone. I have read so many books with this theme already and I think I just have read too many of those books. Also there is a certain scene later on in the book, where I couldn't believe Stella actually said/did a certain thing and it made someonething more ugly than it should be. It just felt off and it ruined some scènes for me, because it just felt wrong how it happened.
I didn't like Daniel at all at first, it was just so difficult to get over his disgusting behavior, especially because I didn't buy the explanation. Really you don't do things like that just because you're good at it. I am sure he is good at other things too. So I had some difficulties connecting with Daniel at first. I did like how he was hiding himself and only gradually learned to be himself. I wasn't sure what to think of Stella at first, but at the story continued I started to like her more. I liked the fact that she liked to bake and that she had to muster the courage to choose what she really wanted to instead of what her parents wanted for her. Also in the last 70 or so pages she really shows some strenght and does some brave things. Let's say I liked the last 70 pages the best.

Daniel (with his imaginary stubble haha - since Stella's always talking about it)
Stella (normally I don't like to cast "famous" people because you either like them or you don't, theres no way you don't have an opion, but victoria just seemed perfect as Stella. In my eyes anyway.)
A few words on the book/my opinion:
So, the book starts off with Daniel in bed with Liza, Stellas mother. He's an artist, but couldn't make enough money with his work, so he started giving "private lessons" to the wealthy wives of the local upper class, his latest "customer" being Liza. Daniel never really cared how he earned his money, he more or less enjoyed what he was doing - basically whoring himself out, no strings attached. But things change when Liza offers to pay him to give her daughter drawing lessons. She’s hoping that by doing that, Stella can get her life back on track instead of isolating herself from the rest of the world and spending her time doing “things their housekeeper shoud be doing“, which basically entails cleaning and baking (reading how she kept baking stuff, made me crave going into the kitchen and bake something myself).
At first Stella keeps Daniel at arms lengh, trying to get him to give up and leave her alone. But Daniel, isn’t intimidated that easily. He’s fascinated by Stella, how she always seems to vulnerably curl into a ball on the couch one second, and the next second she’s throwing fiery insults his way. They basically spent the first few lessons, with him drawing pictures of her, and her trying to drive him away, but at some point they both don’t seem to have any energy left to fight with each other and let their shields down. He wants her. She wants him. But what's keeping them from being together is that they both seem to swallow in self pity, as harsh as that sounds. Stella doesn't step foot outside of the house because she's scared of having an anxiety attack, and I mean I get it, I really do because everybody leaves her once the find out but seriously! How could she not see that he likes her? And when he finally tells her, she literally runs away from him. Which makes him even more insecure. And now they both want, but don’t tell each other which made me really frustrated with them at times.
What really bugged me though about this book was the fact that Daniel slept with both Stella and her mother – her MOTHER, for gods sake! Who does that? And how could she be okay sleeping with him, knowing he was doing the same with her mother a few hours ago?
Despite, this mini issue with this book, I really enjoyed reading it. Sometimes it was a bit to dramatic for my tastes, but all in all I think you should give this book a shot. =)

Ever since I read Mila's first novel Spiral, which I loved, I was very excited to read this. I will say that the opening of the first chapter with Daniel and Liza, Stella's mother made me cringe. At first I wasn't so sure, but once I pushed past that It became such a beautiful story. It definitely captured my attention and I became attached to Daniel and Estella.
Daniel has a passion and talent for art, creating and selling his paintings is where he makes his living, well that and sleeping with older, rich cougars. But Daniel doesn't care because it's just fun, good money, and doesn't involve feelings. Daniel isn't one for relationships, that would mean getting close to someone and letting them see the true parts of himself. Until Stella comes along and throws his world upside down. I enjoyed seeing his "Great Wall Of China" walls come tumbling down when he is with her. Stella had such a powerful affect on Daniel.
"And Stella. She's inside my walls, and I keep ducking and hiding, but she finds me every time" ~ Daniel
Stella is a beautiful and intelligent young woman who happens to suffer from Panic Disorder. Due to her constant fear and high anxiety of the outside world, she is basically a prisoner trapped in her own mind as well as her home. Her so-called parents are to into them themselves to really know what is going on with their daughter or even care. I wanted to comfort her so much with all she was going through.
"But that's too much to hope for, is I reach up and lock the stall, then curl up on the floor as wave after wave of terror pounds me into nothing, rips me into pieces, and scatters me into the wind." ~ Stella
Daniel and Stella are perfect together. They make each other stronger, truly understand one another, and love each other unconditionally. It was a wonderful and tender moment when they finally shared their true feelings.
"She blows out a long breath. "I love you. Against reason, against promise, against peace--"
"Against hope," I say with her, because I know the quote by heart. Because I think it every time I see her. Because it's true.
"Against happiness," I say by myself as she stares at me. "Against all discouragement that could be." ~ Stella and Daniel
I really love this couple. Was it weird in the beginning with how they met? Yes it was, but fate works it's own ways and those two meant to be. Now I can't wait to read Caleb and Romy's story in, Only Between Us. I am hoping for a Markus story next, he needs his own book. Pretty please, Mila!

Starving artist meets crazy hermit, the perfect opposites attract combo. Daniel is the said starving artist/Casanova always looking for his next benefactor to keep his career afloat. If he has to do some extra curricular duties to make that happen with the cougar art contingent so be it. And that is how he comes to meet Stella, the recluse college student of his most recent patron, home on an extended break and her parents don’t know what to do with her. She hasn’t left the house in two months and the only thing she does all day is bake cookies and confections for their lucky housekeeper. Her mother commissions Daniel to give Stella a few art lessons, maybe that will get her out of her funk. Their first meeting starts out as hostile and gets progressively worse as the lessons go one, but you know the saying, “there’s a fine line between love and hate,” and this relationship is no exception.
First off, I love the cover and it really captures the essence of the book. I found Daniel and Stella to be believable and compelling. I liked how the author dealt with Stella’s panic disorder. This was no saccharine sugar coated story of the debilitating terror of panic disorders, but an utterly convincing reconstruction of what can happen. I liked that the author doesn’t shy away from the frustration and misunderstanding of dealing with such a complex disorder.
I enjoyed the measured cadence of Daniel and Stella’s relationship. Despite a serious ick factor of how they come to meet, I found the ebbs and flows of their courtship credible and intriguing. The author has a nice way of taking what should be an unsympathetic male character and showcasing him as the enticing, irresistible hero he is. I liked how Stella made him unhinged and nervous and vice versa and the glimpses of vulnerability by both of them was charming.
At its core, Everything Between Us, is a tale about fear. It’s about being afraid to be yourself, afraid of the unknown, and afraid of disappointment. But it’s also about being brave enough to take a chance, brave enough to open up and brave enough to be vulnerable. Both Daniel and Stella hide behind the facades and masks they choose to show the world. But I guess we all do that to some extent and like any mask it’s always a relief when you can take it off and just be yourself. However, this is no tearjerker and it is at the top of the hotness scale (it’s also a standalone for which I am grateful) and I for one am hooked and can’t wait to check out the rest of the series.

This was my first Mila Ferrera book and I adored it. I can't wait to read more from her.
This book had a unique take on things and I loved the idea of the story. I am always a huge fan of two broken souls becoming whole with the love for each other and Daniel and Stella did not disappoint.
For Daniel he puts on a show so no one can see who he really is.
For Stella she is caged in with the fear of panic.
The most unlikely duo but from the start they can see each other where no one else can.
Stella has a cow of a mother who is a self-absorbed, insecure tramp who doesn't understand the first thing about her own daughter so what better way to help her than with your lover.
Daniel first starts to help Stella for the money but it quickly turns to intrigue and he wants to get to know Stella more.
The more they get to know each other the more they start to like each other and give their relationship a chance.
At times I got frustrated with the assumptions, miscommunications and the whiny 'I don't deserve you' attitudes but the sweetness of triumph and becoming whole does overpower in the end.
Great story about second chances, strength, overcoming fear and love.

For Stella she is caged in with the fear of panic.
The most unlikely duo but from the start they can see each other where no one else can.
Stella has a cow of a mother who is a self-absorbed, insecure tramp who doesn't understand the first thing about her own daughter so what better way to help her than with your lover.
Daniel first starts to help Stella for the money but it quickly turns to intrigue and he wants to get to know Stella more.
The more they get to know each other the more they start to like each other and give their relationship a chance.
At times I got frustrated with the assumptions, miscommunications and the whiny 'I don't deserve you' attitudes but the sweetness of triumph and becoming whole does overpower in the end.
Great story about second chances, strength, overcoming fear and love.

I really enjoyed this book as much as I did the first in this series. I give this book five stars!
In Everything Between Us, we focus Daniel, an artist and player who sleeps with wealthy older women for money. This is how he makes his living. And it's how he likes it until he meets the daughter of his latest affair. He gets the opportunity to give Stella art lessons and gets very well paid to spend an hour a day with her. he has his own share of personal troubles and although he usually deals with everything alone, he often finds himself opening up to Stella. This is the start of their bond.
Stella is a 20 year old student who is refusing to go back to college due to an anxiety disorder, which leaves her with fears of going out and facing crowds. Instead, she hides in her house, away from the rest of the world. Until, her mother forces her to undertake art Lessons with Daniel.
What started out as a teaching relationship between the two, soon develops into more when Stella offers to pay Daniel to sleep with her and take her virginity. Although he initially refuses, the thought of Stella being with another man makes him finally agree. However, he won't accept the money. What they share that night is much more than a business arrangement, although they take a while to admit it.
They have more hurdles to face as Stella needs to find a way of getting better and her mother, Liza finding out about them and facing the consequences. Will they get through it all together? Find out in this fabulous book!
I loved the two main characters, Daniel and Stella. Their hateful banter at the beginning of the book kept me hooked and I liked how their working relationship developed into something more. Something real.
I rooted for them both and enjoyed how they both became someone else around each other. I'd definitely recommend this author to anyone who loves a good romantic read! I'll be reading more of Mila's work. She's definitely one of my favourite writers.
