A code only she can break... A man only she was made for...
Julie Trueblood's name is found alongside an encrypted message in the safe deposit box of a dead man, bringing Navy investigator Hank Jared to her door, looking for answers. The daughter of the most infamous spy of the twenty-first century, Julie denies any knowledge of the man or the cipher and sends Hank away.
Hank is supposed to be in the Adirondacks walking his sister down the aisle, not chasing leads on a John Doe murder investigation that doesn't even appear to be Navy-related. When Julie contacts him and says her life is in danger, Hank finds the perfect place to hide her, right by his side, pretending to be his girlfriend at his sister's wedding.
Sparks fly between Hank and Julie as they defend against a hidden enemy and seek out the truth in this deadly game of cat-and-mouse. The coded message brought them together, but its secrets hold the power to tear them apart.

She'd thought he was innocent, framed by another boy in town. Years passed before the truth was revealed, sending Meghan running again, this time with her daughter. They stayed away until Fiona's illness forced them back home to Largo just weeks before Christmas. Meghan never expected to find Liam living there, looking sexier than ever and mad as all hell.

Book 3: The One Who Got Away

U.S. Marshal Colin Mitchell was like a brother to David Beaumont when they were growing up, until Colin realized he and his friend's fiancé shared an almost cosmic connection. When Gwen has a spicy daydream and Colin experiences it right along with her, it's too much for him to resist. He makes a move that ultimately costs him both the woman he loves and his relationship with David.
Colin was in charge of the investigation into David's death, and he can't believe he let the other man's killer get away. THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW - SO PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE SPOILERS...
Meant for Her - This was an okay book. I really loved Hank. He was protective and honest and a great guy who loved his family. I didn't care for Julie that much. She sent Hank mixed signals and kept running from him. Had I been Hank, I would not have gone after her at the end. Other than Julie, I liked the story and the mystery.
Meghan’s Wish - WOW! I felt so terribly sorry for Liam. Meghan was a horrible person/main female character. Shew knew Liam loved her and she knew how special she was to him, yet she didn't trust him. Meghan's parents didn't want her seeing Liam because his dad had a reputation as a drunk, and her parents were snotty people who thought they were better than others. So Liam and Meghan sneak around behind their back. While she's still a teenager, Meghan and Liam leave town not only because she's becomes pregnant, but because someone is trying to blame a fire on Liam. Everything is fine for a number of years between them and now they have a beautiful daughter. One day the sheriff from their hometown shows up and tells Meghan that he has proof Liam has gone back to their hometown and started fires. She BELIEVES this guy and takes her daughter and leaves Liam without even asking! Seriously! Kidnapping charges should have been filed. The daughter around the age of seven I think. They when the daughter is around fifteen, she gets sick and needs a bone marrow transplant so Meghan shows back up to see is anyone is Liam's family would be a match. She wasn't even planning on telling Liam his daughter is sick. Unbelievable! Then she learns he lives there and took the blame for the fires so she could visit her family if she wanted. The truth comes out and the bad person is convicted and Liam takes her back and forgives her without any anger at all. Loved Liam. Hated Meghan. This was a very troubling story and not realistic.
The One that Got Away - There seems to be a pattern in this author's book that the leading men are wonderful and women are annoying. Colin was a wonderful man who has loved Gwen for years. She had feelings for him also, but ignored them to date David, one of Colin's best friends. David dies; they discover he was actually murdered; there is shooting; there is denying on the part of Gwen how they feel and there is mystery. This book was really an okay read.
Artful Deception - Rowan is a really super guy. He's an undercover FBI agent trying to protect a painting. His wife and son have been kidnapped and he's being looked upon as a suspect. No one knows he was fixing to file for divorce and that he has been unhappy in the marriage for over a year. Or, that he has learned his wife lied about him being the father of the baby. He's been in love with Becky since he first saw her six months earlier. She's good with computers so he gets her to help look through his wife's computer for clues. I really liked Rowan. Becky was okay. Book itself is cute.
As someone who loves romantic suspense, I was excited when I saw the title of this box set. While there was some mystery it was not as great as I thought it would be. I was hoping for a little more danger and mystery.
Plots good, but no passion. Too vanilla for my liking. These stories would have been perfect if the pages sizzled a little at least. Unfortunately that was not to be and this set. As I said before the plots are really good at no sizzle. Also Liam and Meghan story was way too short.
MEANT FOR HER Gwen took Julie in and raised her, her father disappeared after being labeled a traitor. He was a cryptographer in the service saying he didn’t realizing it was a coded message against US. A body is found, saying it was her father, leaving a coded letter for her. Hank was.called in to find Julie and have her break the code. Danger comes into it, when Julie and Gwen are not safe. Going to the wedding of Hank’s sister open so many doors. Love couldn’t be good for his career, with the famous traitor as they call her father. The ending didn’t quite fit, I thought, otherwise good story, and of interest how it played out. THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY Gwen hadn’t let the dream of Colin come in fifteen years, now it seemed so real..The description of her painting, and Colin was vivid. Colin had become a US Marshall to make a difference, putting people into witness protection still wasn’t easy. The question has come up about Gwen husband David that he had been in the program. Did she want reopen the case, they told her it was an accident, was it murder instead. Colin begged for the assignment he stayed in the background, let someone else do the interviewing. He was to closely involved, did he err and David had been murdered. The story goes from past memories to the present. Interesting for Gwen of what she didn’t know about her husband. ARTFUL DECEPTION Rowan married Tamra, and stayed in Italy, to finally realizing she wasn’t what she said she was, it was all a scheme, even to the baby. Now a painting he was in charge on, and her are gone. When Becky and Rowan first met there was a connection, with words he was married doused it. He was working undercover, so lies told were part of that. Now she is working with him to find Tamra, with art forgery, Interpol, and what was really behind Tamra to begin with. Good Plot. MEGHAN’S. WISH Meghan and Liam a love they shared, till other things happened in town and she left. With a friend and neighbor Rhea, she never said anything of her past. Till results came back that she wasn’t a match for her daughter. Liam had a lot of family. Leaving Fiona with her neighbor returning home after all these years. Being told Liam served time for a crime he didn’t do, and returned to town, working and trying to keep his dad sober. He would let them all be tested, once she brought Fiona back to town. Could she do as he requested. Good box set that deals with members of the family and how love came and changed them.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the novel Meant for Her { Love and Danger book 1} by Amy Gamet and this review was given freely. A dramatic and suspenseful romance set around Christmas Time but not focused on the Holiday. This story is action packed and at times emotional containing greed,a murder, a traitor,a military coverup, a coding genius, and a family wedding. The serious aspects are balanced by moments of humor. Navy Officer Hank Jared becomes embroiled in a murder mystery involving Director of Technology for Systex Corporation in Boston, Julie Trueblood while also to make his sister's Christmas wedding in the Adirondacks. Review: 4 stars I purchased a copy of the novel The One Who Got Away { Love and Danger book 2} by Amy Gamet and this review was given freely. Suspenseful, action packed and a little twisted with a touch of the mystical and a sizzling attraction. Eccentric artist Gwen and US Marshall Colin Mitchell reunited 12 years after Gwen's husband David's death to catch the man who murdered him placing them in danger. There is also the hint at a new romance for Colin's brother Rowan and Gwen and Julie's flamboyant friend Becky. Review: 4 stars I purchased a copy of the novel Artful Deception { Love and Danger book 3} by Amy Gamet and this review was given freely. Action and intrigue fill the pages of this story filled with with a complicated plot containing a marriage of convenience, a tangled forgery plot,a leading man with a double life and a rocky attraction at first sight romance. On the night of the Boston Gardner Museum gala introducing a rare painting from Rowan Mitchell's wife Tamara's Italian gallery,Rowan asks for a divorce only to have Tamara and their 8 month old son as well as the "Madonna Fornira" disappear and only Becky's computer skills can solve the case. Review: 5 stars I purchased a copy of the novella Meghan's Wish { Love and Danger book 4} by Amy Gamet and this review was given freely. A short fast paced episode containing a jealous rivalry, arson and a happy reunion. Meghan finds herself caught between two men when returns to her home town looking for a donor for her daughter who has Leukemia.
I read this set of four books over the course of a weekend. Some of them books I've read before and some I had not read previously, so decided to see what the other books were like.
Meant for her Julie Truebloods father was a traitor to the US Navy. Twelve years after his disappearance his body is discovered and Hank, the investigating officer for the Navy, finds a clue that leads to Julie. The book is about Hank keeping her safe, and them finding out if they have a relationship even though the odds are stacked up against them. I loved the way this book was written, enough romance and intrigue to make me read it several times.
The One who got away Connected to the previous one in that Julie and Hank and mentioned but you don't have to read the books in order or have read the previous one to enjoy this book. This is about Gwen and Colin. Gwen has a slight psychic ability and I enjoy how it's written into the book. The story is sweet and lets you believe that love has second chances
Artful Deception This is about Rowan (Colin's brother) and Becky who find love whilst trying to find a lost painting and Rowans kidnap wife and son. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the others and I struggled with immersing myself into it. I didn't get as involved in the story as the previous ones. I thought that there were far too many interconnected parts and one or two bits were not that well explained. Enjoyable enough as part of the boxset
Meghans Wish A very short story of only 5 chapters but they sure pack a punch. I love this story, it makes me all happy and gooey inside.
I think the boxset has recently been updated as when re-reading some of the books there seemed to be extra bits. I think the author has done a great job with these four books and I look forward tor reading more by her.
I love how the stories flow from one to the next without unnecessary repetition. It’s nice too to not have ridiculously heavy grudges within the characters. They become more like friends, likeable and warm hearted.
3.5 stars - connected but stand alone romances. If you read Amy Gamet then you know her winning formula - sexy, alpha males and strong female leads. Sometimes you want to strangle one or both of the leads, but you'll root for their HEA.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series and the unique and well drawn characters. The relationships were well plotted and the storylines were all interesting. I especially liked Gwen's story.
