I don't know if you've noticed, but I really like these books. This is the conclusion to Rose's trilogy. And I was super excited to read it. If you haven't read them, start with the first book, Seduced by Innocence, be aware that the first book ends on a cliffhanger so make sure you also have Seduced by Pain.
In Seduced by Innocence, each chapter starts with a quote from Romeo and Juliet. In Seduced by Pain, the quote is Midsummer Night's Dream. Seduced by Power has quotes from 'The Scottish Play', which is my favorite Shakespeare. “Stars, hide your fires! Let not light see my black and deep desires.” “By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes.”
“My home is wherever you are." (swoon) “My wishes all came true when I met you.” (double swoon)
This book has it all: adventure and racy romance. It was definitely a wild ride and I loved every minute of it. As I finished reading it, I had actual tears in my eyes. I am glad that I won't have to say goodbye completely to these characters since there are more Seduced books in the works.
Determined to put a stop to her mother's shenanigans, once and for all, Rose has teamed up with Blake and Derek in hopes of preventing her from fulfilling her ultimate goals. Sadly, none of them ever counted on Rainbow's resourcefulness. Neither did they imagine that she'd try to get exactly what she's wanted at a moment's notice.
Evading capture, her mother has done her best to try and destroy the shifters at every turn. Though she's never gotten her wish completely, she's caused enough damage to harm both the coven and the Druids for the rest of eternity. Having learned a little more about who and what she is, Rose has had to come to terms with quite a few things in so little time. While everything she's discovered has been a tad mind-boggling, it has helped her to make sense of what's made her different this entire time.
Derek has forgiven her for the pain and heartache she's inadvertently caused his family. They both know that there's nothing she could have done to prevent the outcome of her mother's follies. While this might have been the case a long time ago, Rose has come to understand that she can now make a difference in everyone's lives. In learning how to control her powers, she's also learned a little more about the darkness that resides within her, a fact that might prove to be her advantage in the long run.
The last book in this intriguing series, Seduced By Power packs a punch that leaves you wanting to read more. In this continuation of the saga, we get to see Rose, Derek, and Blake work together in trying to take Rainbow down. They get stuck in situations that leave you wondering if they'll ever get out in one piece. We get to see the three characters grow in ways we've never imagined.
The very end of the book was heart-breaking, as I never expected Blake's sacrifice to be so poignant. I enjoyed the fact that Kimberly was able to tie in Rent-A-Kid to this series. That was definitely something I never expected. Seeing Sam, Drake, and a few others from the first series make an appearance was bittersweet, most especially since they'd gone through so much already to begin with. I've a feeling there's more to come for Rose and the Rent-A-Kid's themselves, and I can't wait to see what else Kimberly comes up with for this delightful world she's lovingly put together.
The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.
Rose is still trying to find a way to defeat her mother, Rainbow and to take back the rose bush that she stole from Derek's family. Not only does she have to worry with her mother she is also trying to find a way to get Derek's brother Dean's soul back at the same time.
When Rose and Derek are having sex Rose has to feel pain so that she won't send Derek's soul to hell also. But the pain is not enough anymore and she sends Derek's soul to hell as well. Rose's heart is broken over the fact that she has hurt the one that she loves. Rose is a very sweet and loving person and would never do anything to cause harm or hurt to anyone. Unless they are like her mother who does evil things to human beings then she will do what she has to, to stop them from hurting others. So now Rose has to find a way to save them all. Can she or will she be able to do what is necessary to save them? Is her heart that good?
While trying to save Derek and Dean Rose meets her farther and finds out who his is and also what he is a demon. Rose will have to go to hell herself to save Derek and Dean. She meets a demon in hell who helps her get their souls back. But she has to make a choice that could mean she will loose her life. Is she strong enough of a person to make this choice?
The demon Blake has fallen in love with Rose and although he is a demon he helps Rose knowing how she feels about him and also knowing that he can never be with her. In the beginning I really didn't care much for the demon Blake as with most demons he was out to help only himself but in the end he turned out to have a very good heart.
I have truly enjoyed reading all three of the Seduced Saga books. If asked which one I liked the best I could not say as I loved them all. And I highly recommend that you read all three but I do suggest that you start with book #1 Seduced by Innocents and then book #2 Seduced by Pain. I cannot wait to read the next two books in the series Seduced by Love (A Surprise Seduced Book) and Seduced by the Sea (Ocean's Story) although they are not about Rose.
I have loved the Seduced Saga so much that I plan on reading The Forbidden Trilogy by Kimberly Kinrade. I have found myself another favorite author.
This is the last installment for the Seduced Saga - Rose's Story. I have read each installment as it has been released and this is the best yet. I read it in one night because I just couldn't put it down. The roller coaster ride started with a plunge down the steepest part of the ride, then flashed back and started where the previous story left off. This trilogy has allowed us to watch Rose grow as a person and find her strength. She has always had the power to overcome, but this story really takes her through the ringer to find that inner strength. I have watched the characters develop and I'm now vested and want to know what happens to each of them: Ocean, demon Blake, Jasmine, the twins... I see many spin off stories in Kimberly's future.
**SPOILER ALERT** If you haven't read book 1 and 2 **SPOILER ALERT**.
This installment takes us back to where Rose's mother has just stolen the roses from Derek's family. Rose has been welcomed to the family of Druids as Derek's fiance, but she is still struggling with the fact that she is to blame for the situation with Derek's brother Dean. Derek and Rose are using pain to control her power so they can be together, but with the loss of the roses, Derek and the rest of the shifter druids are slowly loosing their powers. The situation is dyer and tensions are running high. Rainbow must be found, the Rose bushes returned, and Rose must find a way to control her powers and return Dean to his body.
As Rose struggles to accept who she is, events happen and she is forced to confront her father and mother. Will Rose be able to run the gauntlet and go to hell and back to save Derek and his family? Will Derek be able to find his strength of will to become the leader his father always knew he could be? Can they both fight for what they love and save everyone?
I totally enjoyed this part of Rose's story. By the end I was even rooting for Blake. Kimberly has done a wonderful job of developing the characters and connecting 3 self contained stories, while sharing an overall combined story. The vividness of the situations pulls me in and doesn't let me go until the conclusion.
The Seduced Saga is a must read for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance.
Kimberly Kinrade has written some of my favorite paranormal and Y.A. romances. Seduced by Power continues her winning streak in my book.
The Seduced saga follows the lovely story of a young witch named Rose and a Druid-shifter named Derek. The sparks between the two are hot, hot, hot and the love runs deep. Seduced by Power picks up where Seduced by Pain left off.
Rose and Derek are fighting to free themselves from her mother's betrayal. They need to recover the stolen rose bush before the Druid power is lost.
Rose must free Derek's brother from the demon prison where she accidentally vanquished him. So, as soon as the book begins, these two are fighting for their lives as well as their love.
The challenges against Rose and Derek just keep coming as the book continues. Kinrade has once again, created a world and a book that calls upon your emotions. You get wrapped up in the steamy sex the deep love and growing connection.
Then, you are cheering for the Druids and Rose to triumph over Rainbow's evil. Readers will suffer some real emotional blows as Derek is dealt a horrible blow. But you can rest assured that Kinrade ties things up beautifully.
I don't want to give away plot points because this book is one hell of a ride. It is masterfully written, engaging and thrilling. Kinrade's characters are power and vulnerable, flawed in a way that makes them more believable. At the end, I was begging for more chapters because I did not want to leave the characters behind.
Lucky for Seduced fans, there is a forth coming boxed set including new content. Rumor has it we haven't seen the last of Ocean and Blake.
Definitely a 5/5 Paw Print book. Can I give it 6 or 7?
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Seduced by Power is the coup de grâce to the Seduced trilogy. War wagged between two paranormal households with one naughty romance in the mix; This new adult action paranormal romance was elfin alluring series involving shape-shifters, witches/warlocks/druids, demons, and magic.
One factor I really enjoyed was the Shakespearean references. It was paralleled perfectly with each segment. Seduced by Innocence pay homage to Romeo & Juliet while introducing the fueding families and blossoming forbidden love. Seduced by Pain brought the conflict, the drama, and the romantic competition with reverence to A Midsummer Night's Dream. This one had a sexy Macbeth theme ...if our classic hero liked spankings! Similar to book one and two, there was a nice amount of steamy scenes in conjunction with the classic lit chapter headings.
One major complaint for me was the romantic placement in the beginning. It didn't flow as effortlessly as before. Rose and Derek were at their wits ends in their mission to restore the power and safety of the roses and defeat the evil Rainbow before time ran out for the O'Conner clan and they took a time-out for "R&R". I won't go into detail but you get my drift.
Aside from that ill placed intermission, I was not disappointed by the ending at all. From love to a broken heart and a grudge remembered I'm now on board with Kimberly Kinrade's work. I'm anticipating the side stories and hidden chapter additions on the horizon.
*Big thanks to the author for entrusting me with an honest review.
And so the plot thickens....as if it could any more!!! As this is the last book questions are answered and the twisst keep coming! It amazes me how all this can come from one author's head! Just WONDERFUL!
Derek still has my heart, more so after reading this book. Man the things that he goes through and does it one heck of a lot for a woman! However, since he loves her I guess it proves so much! Blake (the Demon), actually gets my admiration. Although he's been born evil as all "bleep" he turns over a new leaf and totally surprises me. I guess Rose was right when she said that people deserve second chances. Over the three books I have to say that Rose has grown so much. She isn't this shy, stand-offish girl any more. She's this "I'm gonna do it and you can join if you want....just such a fun character. I'm even more a NON-FAN of Rainbow, and after what she does to Jasmine...URGH!!!! I'm left with a few questions at the end, but I'm always questioning what happens after the ever after...It's in my blood. Over all Kimberly does a great job tying all three books up with this one and totally makes a life long stalker of her work with me!!!! I will look forward to more works of adventure and love from this fabulous author!
***Since my copy is an ARC, I cannot speak of any errors I may have or may not have found***
Seduced by Power picks up where Seduced by Pain leaves off. The joy and laughter from book 2 are definitely lacking in book 3. The story has taken a dark turn and other emotions are invoked big time as we draw to the climax of this part of Rose's story. The strength and power of Derek and Rose's love is prevalent in this book, and we learn so much more about Blake as this part of the story comes to a close.
This one absolutely will make the reader reach for a tissue more than once. There's a few twists that come out of nowhere, some are a bit predictable, others not so much. While there is a nice ending, there's still that nice sunny ledge for the reader to sun themself on while waiting to read the next book >~.^<
I can't wait to jump into book 4, Seduced by Lies to see what happens next!
Absolutely Perfect ending! OMG I can't believe this book! What you say?! Yes this book had me absolutely thrilled from start to finish! hahaha Reading Kimberly's books are never a disappointment. This is the 3rd book is Rose's Trilogy. Each book showing the reader Rose's growing pains as she learns about her powers and controlling them. Is she a demon or a witch or both? Hmmm...those of you that haven't read Seduced by Innocence...start at the beginning! It makes all the twists and turns of Seduced by Pain(book 2) and this book Seduced by Power all the more worth the wait.
What's not to love with an adult book of love, romance, shifters and witches oh and the deceit! What's a good book without it? I loved it and you won't be disappointed! Comment
I'd like to thank the author and Innovative Online Book Tours for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review. It was the third book in a series and while the ending was expected, there were a few twists that were unexpected, and some that were heart-wrenching. The author made me care for each of the characters and hate some, but there was one whom you couldn't help but sympathize with. Overall, I found the whole series to be well-written, without much of a pause between the books, which was good. It was easy to finish one, then pick the next up a few weeks later and pick up exactly where I was before. The most enjoyable part to the entire series for me was the Shakespeare quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I'm going to miss Rose and Derek.
I have so much love for this series it is insane. These characters are so likeable and relatisic. The erotic scenes are amazing and Kimberly knows how to write them. Like I keep saying keep a watch out for this author because her name will blow up big time.
Absolutely perfect ending to Rose's Trilogy. I will post a full review and gush about all it's awesomeness to celebrate the release of the omnibus edition. This is one book you will not be able to put down...
This series is quite intriguing, and definitely for adults only. I jest with the title, as I've never had any desire to read 50 shades of anything. However, it makes the point that this borders on erotica and has BDSM undertones. It isn't the bulk of the story, just a by product. The writing is well done and not insulting to those living a BDSM, in my humble opinion.
Rose finds out who her father really is, and what her mother did to have her. She has to save the life of her life and that means taking a terrifying journey into the unknown. She finds out a lot about herself, and what her true powers are! Now I am off to begin "Seduced by Lies"! I' so excited!
Ugh, this was just too awful to finish. The Shakespeare quotes in the beginning of each chapter where annoying, the X-Men reference in the second book almost did me in there, but after about 20% in I had to give this up.
I say that, but apparently three is a new villain coming. I'm done, but I'm sure others will enjoy further adventures. Overall, the story was decent, but the last book seemed more adult.
I was pleased with the way this book played out. I was rooting for Derek and Rose. I glad they joined Drake and Sam to help the others. Kinda felt bad for Blake, don’t know what last chapter was about but I guess I will out. On to the next one.
The seduced saga continues in this dark sexy and amazing third book the characters and plot were all developed extremely well and everything resolved it self the way it was meant too and the struggles between rose and her parents was resolved fully and on brief sidenote i relate to her having struggles with my own family and while it not quite the same thing i lool foward to when i too can put them struggles to rest but i digress giggles in the end the plot that was initiated in the first book was fully sorted and the cliff hanger at the end was verry well done overall amazing read and looking forward to the next books in this series
With each and every one of Kinrade’s books that I read I come to love her writing more and more. I couldn’t put this one down. Her writing is so enthralling and captivating that you immerse yourself in the novel and lose all track of time. The book is also so flawlessly written that there is nothing to draw you back to reality. This book becomes your reality for a short while.
I love the consistency between the novels in this series. Kinrade adopts the same writing style and tone within each of the novels. Also, each character’s viewpoint in written in a slightly different fashion, but this remains consistent for each. Her descriptions are phenomenal and tailored to create a specific image and aura. By playing with light and darkness Kinrade not only writes about, but also paints the world that she creates.
The characters themselves are simultaneously consistent and ever changing. They face so many life altering obstacles throughout this novel that they continue to grow as individuals, couples, and as a family while never abandoning their original selves. Their core goals and values are the same but they are better, more mature individuals after their trials. Some of the minor characters become further developed in this novel, while never overpowering the main characters, which is awesome. Also, any of the newly introduced characters are developed to suit a specific purpose with no description, dialogue, or narrative wasted on inconsequential details. That said, not a single one of the characters ever seems underdeveloped for their role in this novel.
Kinrade’s supernatural world expands even further with this instalment in Rose’s trilogy. All of the details are worked into the action keeping up with the fast pace of the story. The reader is never left scrounging for details on the new elements that they encounter nor are they wishing that the story would progress faster because they’re having pointless narrative heaped upon them. Kinrade walks a fine line balancing this to create a phenomenally seamless story. She also manages to wrap up Rose’s trilogy very nicely with this story. Everything comes to a very nice conclusion without rushing or skimming anything. As a reader, however, I’m not ready to leave this brilliant world that she has created. I appreciate the fact that Kinrade ends this trilogy and picks up with another character in the series for future instalments. This avoids stagnation while giving me (and other readers, of course) more of the characters and the world that they have so come to love as well as many more brilliant books to read.
Please note that I received this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review.
And with that i can finally call it quits on the series. For reasons I can't quite explain i got really sucked into this series and felt like i needed to keep reading despite not particularly enjoying it. Luckily this one wrapped up the storyline pretty well...so well in fact i have to wonder why they didn't just end the series here because I can't fathom anyone wanting to continue reading. Forgive me for all the vagueness that is to follow but there are a lot of things i feel but don't know exactly why about this series. The heroine is sweet but after a certain point her whole deadly power thing just becomes obnoxious. Especially since by book 3 i still don't have a great grasp on what she is. The hero is also fairly middle of the road, very dedicated to the heroine but not a character i really think twice about. The two worked together but i'm hardpressed to say way. I really don't think they were "soul mates" I could have seen her with blake...or him with ocean...there was really nothing about them separately or together that screamed perfect for each other at me. The sex scenes were hot though i'll definitely give them that. I really don't know what happened with the plot-in this book or in the overarching series plot. Firstly, it moved so far away from the largely Romeo and Juliet story of the first book it was essentially unrecognizable...leading me to wonder why that was such a big part of the first book, or really in there at all. Second, so much happened here and not in a good way. About 5 million dramatic scenes happened none of them connected. CRISIS! solve crises. NEXT CRISIS. Literally it never took more than a couple chapters to resolve then it was on to the next only semi related one. It just felt very thrown together like a puzzle who's pieces were not made to fit but rather jammed in until they fit. The writing was still pretty solid, at times a little over poetic for my tastes (and seriously what was with all the Shakespeare?) but a lot of people like that.
Bottom line: You definitely can't judge a book by its cover. These covers are all gorgeous but what's in between them? Eh. I felt compelled to read up to this one for reasons I don't quite understand but I felt relief upon ending this one...relief that they wrapped the story up and I didn't feel like there was anything else to really do with the series. Not one i'd recommend
“By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes.” -William Shakespeare, Macbeth
Druids, shifters, witches, and demons; romance, sex, intense action and the overwhelming power of true love. This third book in Rose’s trilogy is fast-paced and quite intense.
Rose and Derek must finally face the evil that threatens the future of their family, their magic, and their love. They each bravely face that darkness that lurks in each twist of the plot. If I could sum up the entire story in a single concept, it would be selfless courage. Rose, Derek, Blake and others are all willing to sacrifice themselves to save the one’s that they love. Theirs is a story of good overcoming evil, and love trumping greed.
The book is filled to the brim with action and epic magical battles. The plot is unique and unexpected, with more than a few twists and turns. At the heart of at all, in the midst of the turmoil, violent power-struggles, deceit, and uncertain futures, Derek and Rose’s love remains unwavering, guiding the story towards it’s long- awaited and epic climax.
“I didn’t have long. Instead of dwelling on my fear, I pictured Derek in my mind, imagining each of our days together, the way he held me, the way he made love to me, the smile on his face when I said something to make him laugh. I’d known love, the greatest, most epic of all loves. Not many people could ever say that. If the universe chose to rip it away from me after so short a time, I could only be grateful that I’d had any time at all.”
In the same vein of the other books in the series, Seduced by Power is beautifully written, poetic, and emotional. Kinrade uses the perspective of three different characters, and the story still moves along smoothly and seamlessly. Once again, this book has the added bonus of being visually beautiful, a joy to read. This book could be read as a stand-alone but is a richer and more complete experience when read as part of the series. (And the first two books are great reads as well!)
*I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I was chomping at the bit for this third installment, especially after the second one ended in such a cliffhanger! All we knew was that Rose's dark gift finally managed to take Derek away. ACK!
I ended up devouring the entire thing in less than an hour on a short car trip. I wanted no one to talk to me, so that I could concentrate on the final battles.
I will admit that like all final books in a trilogy, this one is my least favorite. I think this is because the climax hits in the second book, or at least in the very beginning of the third one, and the resolution comes rolling down like its on a steep embankment. (Think back to those charts you studied back in English class.) But the sheer NEED for that third book compels you to stick with it. I also tend to read the third book the fastest, to satisfy that need to know what happened.
This book is also the darkest of the three. It's less sexy. And that's okay. It's dealing with bigger issues than sex. And I think it is my favorite collection of Kimberly's that I have read to date.
So, now having read the entire trilogy, I guess you can say that Kimberly Kinrade completely seduced me with Rose and Derek's story. It does feel like it is just beginning. I look forward to reading the other stories that are coming out and hope to see these characters again!
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is a really interesting series. I loved the way this one started! Funnily enough Rose has some issues on her hands. Major ones.
This starts actually in the middle of the story and then goes back to explain how things happened the way they did. Blake is still in the picture, which is awesome because I really like him! But all hell has broken loose and not only does Rose have major issues, all of the Druids do.
This builds on the story that the first two started. This one is more intense and less sexy than the first two but I actually enjoyed it more than the second. There was a bit more depth even though it felt a little scattered at the same time.
Rose finds herself doing everything possible to save those around her, which includes taking a little trip to Hell. I mean, why not right?! What’s odd though is that the plot actually felt a little twisted. So much has to happen in this one that it is nearly lost in translation. Not quite though… it’s like the authors reign it in when they realize things are going overboard. Which is good because a few times they almost lost me.
I did LOVE how this one ended. Love, love, loved!
In short: Must be read in order. This one wasn’t as good as the first but better than the second!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The original review can be found on Genuine Jenn
Another great book by Kimberly Kinrade. In this series Kimberly shows her "adult" style writing with pretty hardcore intimate scenes. I would say a bit of a erotica novel with some harsher words than a typical romance book. Rose and Derek have figured out they are be intimate as long as Derek in flicks pain, but can this really happen or will Rose's powers take over and send Derek into the demon world? This was a super finish to the Seduced Saga and I can't wait for the surprise books.Usually I don't read many demon, witch, shapeshifter books lately but this saga has been a great read, it has been full of love and magic to keep me wanting to know more and see what happens in the next book. I would highly suggest reading these in order and well for that matter I would suggest any of Kimberly's books if you are looking for the next read.
With the power source gone Rose and Derek's family must find a way to get it back and stop the coven leader for good and stop her plans for the ceremony. Instead of using rose as the sacrifice victim she chose Blake tells her she will use her sister Jasmine.. But in the opening story a fun time turns into darkness for rose and Derek. Her power gets the better of them and she sends Derek to the demon plane were his brother is. Two days before rose and Derek were having a wonderful time being together. His sister and cousins were tracking the roses but we're defeated again and the coven leader escaped with them. They brought the badly beaten Blake to the house and Jasmine flees to rose.what will happen next? Will rose figure out how to save Derek and Dean so they can restore the magic to the druids before they lose it or will the coven leader do the ceremony and become the most powerful witch? book 3 continues with the struggles of there love and it's at a peek. Rose must learn to.control her powers and save the ones she loves or lose it all. All the secrets are revealed .
I barreled through this book just because the first two in the series were cliffhangers. All three books are short and it didn't take up much time to get the closure I was looking for.
Except that one of the main areas in which I sought resolution never did get resolved. This whole series was badly in need of editing -- both for errors and for content -- and I wish I'd never started reading it. I can't understand why it has such high ratings here on Goodreads and frankly I felt obligated to give these negative reviews to try to balance things out.
