UPDATED REVISED EDITION 7-22-16Six months ago Annie Brown won a fifty million dollar lottery--and lost any kind of resemblance of normalcy in her life. Now, wanna-be husbands are invading her privacy, not to mention her peace of mind. Things have gotten so out of hand that she doesn't feel safe anymore. After Detective Ryan Armstrong comes to her rescue several times, it's obvious to him Annie Brown needs help dealing with the army of over-zealous suitors trespassing into her everyday life. He comes up with a plan to take Annie off the "market" by placing the universal "Private Property" sign around her ring finger. With the exception of giving back the money, Annie is willing to do almost anything to get her life back. Even saying, "I do--kinda" to the town's new hunky cop, Ryan Armstrong.Their pretend marriage might be a sham, but the passion they find in each other's arms is anything but play-acting.
I enjoyed the story and the characters, but I kept getting side tracked by all the typos. From the first chapter to the last , there were mistakes. Its a shame because I know I would have loved the story even more had it been able to flow.
This book came to me presented as A Humorous kind off book! And it does have a funny beginning witha a guy strapped to a tree and with Annie calling the cops to take 'the asshole' down from the tree in her backyard. But taking that scene and the baginning off how Annie and Ryam met is more a Romantic Comedy that tends towards Drama...i'm probably not making much sense but i can't find a better way to explain it!
This is a short sweet book about trust and love. About falling in love and don't recognize the feeling for what its worth until its almost too late...
Annie is a modern woman, with all her hang-ups about men, but she gives a really good portrait of the female brain...an eternal battle of concepts, off desire versus ratinal. And then comes Ryan...every fantasie a woman can have and a little more.
