I picked this book up as I knew I had to make the move to Windows 8 sooner rather than later. It's not that I wanted to rush into it like I did when Windows 7 came out, instead it was a business need as I have to keep up the latest technology.

I went to Windows 8 at home and then at work as I read this book. This book was much larger and detailed than I needed as I've been using Windows since version 3. I was able to make my way through the book quickly and glean the relevant information I needed to get me up to speed on what changed in Windows 8.

The book is loaded with screen shots and is very detailed in the explanations of how everything works. In spite of the level of detail, it's surprisingly easy to read and is not dry and complicated.

Whether you are a brand new user or a Windows veteran you will be able to get a lot of out of this book.
