Even better than Vol. 1 -- in the second 4 Equinity stories, the teenage girls of the horse ranch welcome a bunch of young men to live on the ranch, and that complicates things even more (as if zombies, white slavers, crazed mountain men and viscous predators weren't enough to worry about!) Love alliances are forged, rivalries occur, and more natural dangers threaten life at the secluded horse ranch, Equinity. I love how each story has it's own unique profile -- one is like a courtroom drama, one is a firefight story, one is a one-on-one kidnap drama that feels like an intense one-act play, yet they fit seamlessly together as part of a single series. While some stories are more action-oriented and some have more drama, they all have a good mixture and complete feel, even though they all string together quite nicely in these megabook collections when you read them chronologically. The relationships evolve smoothly across the series. A vol 1/vol 2 megabook combo will make a great holiday gift for kindle or in paperback -- think paperbacks for a stocking-stuffer for your teen or tween book lover!
