Donna is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over a hundred novels. Her most popular series is the breathtaking Dark King (aka Dragon King) series featuring dragons, immortal Highlanders, and the Fae.
In addition to her novels, Donna has written short stories, novellas, and novelettes for digital-first and print release. She has been dubbed as giving the “paranormal genre a burst of fresh air” by the San Francisco Book Review. Her work has been hailed as having “deft plotting and expert characterization” by Publisher’s Weekly and “sizzling” by RT Book Reviews.
She has been recognized with awards from both bookseller and reader contests including the National Reader’s Choice Award, Booksellers Best Award, as well as the coveted K.I.S.S. Award from RT Book Reviews.
Donna travels often for various speaking engagements, conferences, and book signings. She is also a frequent workshop presenter at national conferences such as RT Book Lovers Convention and Thrillerfest, as well as local chapters.
Born and raised in Texas, she also has ties across the border in Louisiana. Growing up with two such vibrant cultures, her Cajun side of the family taught her the “spicy” side of life while her Texas roots gave her two-steppin’ and bareback riding. She is never far from her faithful 80 pound dog, Sisko, or her three cats. She can often be found at the movies or bookstore with her children. Or buying makeup. And shoes.
Ian lost his twin. They had shared a god between them and when Duncan, his brother, died, Ian had to deal with the god all on his own. He hides to try and get the god under control. But even hidden, Danielle is drawn to him.
I worried about Ian all through the last book. I was so glad his book was next. I really am close to these characters. They are family to me. This author always has great full characters that I enjoy. Danielle is the new character. She's had loss in her past. Raised in the US, she lost her parents at age 10. Sent to Scotland to live with her aunt, Danielle learned about who she was as a druid. Her druid power drives her crazy. She finds objects and objects is able to tell her who they belonged to and she is forced to return them. That power is what brings her to Ian.
The relationship between Ian and Danielle is a powerful connection that lets Ian learn to control his god. I really enjoyed that aspect of their story. The powerful warriors are always there for their druids and it was nice for that to do the other way.
The series has expanded to include a modern evil. Declan wants Deidre and Satan wants them together. Yeah, Deidre isn't having it. But now that a modern evil exists, Deidre can be killed. I admit to being excited for that to happen. Can't stand her. It seems a brilliant plan by the author to further transition the series to the modern times. Well played.
I continue to enjoy these books. There are great characters, creative writing and an interesting story line. The companion nature of the books makes them easy to be read stand alone. I enjoy the small battles that are won in each story as the series plot moves along. It's a great way to keep me reading.
Definitely want to keep reading this series. Have you read it? You should.
Out of all the Warriors in this series (and the Dark Swords), I have to say that I love Ian Kerr the best. There was just something so compelling about her character from the get-go and I found myself sympathizing with him as the book progressed.
Ian has been isolated for centuries because he doesn’t have control over his god, Farmire. As the god of battle, Farmire is always trying to get Ian to engage in battle or at least start a battle so Ian is in a constant state of tension, fearing that once he allows himself to relax, all hell will break lose. He struggles with his god and so he isolates himself while he tries to tame the beast inside of him. Added to that is the grief he feels over his brother Duncan. So for centuries he has been alone and in pain. How can you not feel bad for someone like him?
The same goes for Danielle Buchanan, who is surprise, surprise – a Druid. With powers that allow her to touch objects and feel or hear their messages, she is thrust into a world that she had no idea existed. Danielle knows of her powers but doesn’t necessarily understand the vast capabilities that come along with it. I was thrilled to see a heroine who didn’t back away from threats when things got tough. I also happened to love the fact that she had so much faith in Ian.
This scene really captures it well, I think: “I fought, Danielle. I had wyrran to kill. It kept Farmire content.” She sat sideways against the door and learned her head on the iron. “He tried to gain control while we were shopping, remember? You didn’t let him. I know you have the willpower to stop him.” “Do I?” Ian asked, and lifted his head to pin her with his stare. “Do i really? I’m lost, Danielle. I doona know who I am anymore.” “I do,” she whispered. “You’re the man who saved me from creatures I didn’t know. You’re the man who pulled me from a frozen loch and warned me so I wouldn’t die. You’re the man who promised to bring me to the MacLeods even though you didn’t want to go. You’re the man who stood with Charon against dozens of wyrran intent on killing innocents. You’re the man who fought even though you knew there was a possibility Deirdre would take you. You’re the man who has kept me safe no matter what. And you’re the man who makes sweet love to me and holds me in the cold, dark hours of the night.” “Maybe that man is gone.” Dani smiled. “No. I’m looking at him. I have faith in you, Ian. Have faith in yourself.”
In comparison to the other books, I feel like MIDNIGHT’S LOVER paid a lot of attention on the romance between Ian and Danielle, which explains why I feel like this is a stronger book. I just believed that Ian and Danielle belonged together so kudos to Donna Grant for accomplishing that. I will also say that MIDNIGHT’S LOVER is favorite so far in the series!
The plot is tightly written and pulse-pounding. I find that Grant usually liked to gradually let events unfold in her books, but this one seemed to have jumpstarted quite early on in the story. It hooked me completely and held me captive until the very last page.
If you’re looking for an author who brings heat and heart in one tightly-written package, then Donna Grant will be a gift that makes your jaw drop. You don’t want to miss MIDNIGHT’S LOVER.
Spoiler's for the previous book/Dark Sword series. This is Ian's story. He was pulled into the future d/t his tie to Duncan (his twin who was murdered by Malcolm) and Dierdre. The individual responsible for pulling Dierdre to the future was Declan. Declan wants to rule with Dierdre, but she doesn't want to share. So, at this point they are not working together (so it appears). Ian hide because he didn't have control of his god; so he thought. Danielle lost her parents were she was 12 and came to Scotland to live with her aunts, one of whom taught her about her magic. Danielle has the ability to return lost objects to their owners. She finds a key and must at once get to MacLeod castle. She finds Ian and together they find each other. Declan's main involvment in the story: It remains to be seen just how her placement will play out. I maintain he is more of a threat then Dierdre. Dierdre's plant failed. Deirdre is still alive, but the artifacts are in place to locate Laria (who supposedly is the only one who can kill her). Next up Saffron and Camryn. From Dark Sword series: (There really needs to be a character list; I'm sure I'm missing someone) Cara and Lucan, Larena and Fallon, Marcail and Quinn, Isla and Hayden, Reaghan and Galen, and Sonya and Broc. Marcail and Quinn's son, Aidan, then there's Ramsay, Camdyn, Arran, Charen, Phelan, Braden (who was a kid in DS). Malcolm. Dark Warriors: Logan and Gwynn, Tara (who is named at the end of book 2)
An adventure-packed bewitching tale! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:
At the age of twelve, Danielle ‘Dani’ Buchanan lost her parents. Watching their coffins sitting side by side, her heart hardened. Temporarily, she stayed with her best friend, but since she could not understand what Dani was going through, their friendship suffered. Then her Aunt Josie, who was her new guardian, came and took her to Scotland to live. Her aunt told her that she had magic within her like she did and that she would help her develop it. That was exactly what she did, right up until her death from unknown circumstances five years ago. However, Dani is not too happy about her magic. She returns lost items to their rightful owners. If she fails to comply, she suffers great pain. Nowadays there are few Druids left in Scotland, but Dani is one.
Ian is a warrior from 1603, who has been thrust into the future world of 2012. Just before being transported, his twin brother Duncan had been killed by the evil Deirdre, whose mission it was to control the world. He and his twin brother Duncan had shared a god, Farmire, who was constantly trying to gain control of them so he could kill. Between the two they had been able to keep the god under control, but with Duncan gone now, Ian does not know if he will be able to do it alone. So, to keep from hurting those he cares about, he goes off into the mountains and hides out in a cave. When he first hears Duncan’s voice in his head, he thinks he is losing his mind. But with Duncan’s aid, he fights to gain control of Farmire. Hearing the noise of wyrrans, Deirdre’s evil little creatures, Ian starts towards the sound and suddenly felt the wonderful magic of a Druid. Letting Farmire loose, which turns his body blue, he comes to the Druid’s aid.
When her plans to attend a New Year’s Eve celebration are cancelled, Dani starts to head home. But as she is about to get into her car, she finds a key, one that must be returned to Castle MacKeod…immediately. She knows if she doesn’t do as the lost article requests, she will be in much pain, so she heads out in the middle of a snowstorm. But when she is involved in a vehicle accident, which kills the occupants of the other car, she sets out on foot, believing she is following a road. However, she is actually headed further into the mountains. Attacked by little yellow creatures, wyrrans, she watches as a blue monster comes to her aid. But backing away from the scene, she ends up cracking the ice on a lake and plunging into the ice cold water.
Diving into the ice cold water, Ian rescues Dani and takes her back to his cave. Using his body heat, he manages to get her warm. When she regains consciousness the next day, she talks Ian into taking her to Castle MacKeod. The attraction between them is mutual, but Dani has never known a man as fearsome as Ian. She knows she must help him fight the ancient evil that haunts him. But when they arrive at Castle MacKeod, things are not as they should be. There is an enemy in their midst, but with several new people arriving close together, which one is it? Together, can they find the evil and put a stop to it before those close to them are lost? Can they defeat Farmire so they can have a future together?
An exciting, adventure-packed tale, MIDNIGHT’S LOVER, the second book in best-selling author Donna Grant’s DARK WARRIOR series, is a story that captivates you from the very first page. Ian is bewitched by Dani and the only time he feels any relief from fighting the god within him is when he is with her. A beautifully written story, Ms. Grant combines passion, clever banter, danger, magic, evil villains, complex characters, time travel, suspense, romance and a one-of-a-kind love, bringing the story to life right before your eyes. You can almost feel Ian’s frustration as he battles the ancient evil within him, as well as the deep love that he and Dani share for each other. This story can be read as a standalone, but I also suggest that you not miss out on the first exciting book in this thrilling series; MIDNIGHT’S MASTER. As I await the next DARK WARRIORS’ story; MIDNIGHT’S SEDUCTION, be sure to get your own copy of MIDNIGHT’S LOVER. I highly recommend it and am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did!
Ian Kerr, thrust into future when the evil drough, Dierdre gets taken into the 21st Century, has been hiding in a cave in the highlands of Scotland for some time. Struggling with his god, Farmire, the god of battle, no less, after his twin, Duncan was murdered by Malcolm at Dierdre's behest. Ian feels he is no company for anyone. He begins to "talk" to Duncan and can't decide whether it actually is Duncan speaking to him or if he is going mad.
Modern day Druid, Danielle Buchanan hasn't had an easy life. Originally from the US, she was sent to live with paternal aunts in Scotland when both her parents were killed in a car accident. Her Aunt Josie immediately sees the Druid magic flowing through her niece and over the years she hones and encourages Danielle's magic until it flows strongly within her. Danielle has the ability of finding lost items but must return them to the rightful owners or she suffers greatly.
New Year's Eve, Danielle plans to ring it in with friend Mitchell, but things go awry when Mitchell wants more than Danielle is willing to give. As she leaves his flat, Danielle trips and finds an ancient looking key in the street and the key gives her the mission to find McLeod Castle and return the key to those who dwell there. During her drive, a snowstorm hits and she has a car accident that propels her car down an embankment. Danielle urges on and ends up walking through the mountains, where luckily Ian finds her, drenched to the bone and almost frozen.
Once Danielle recovers and listens to Ian's story, she compels him to help her get to McLeod Castle, whether he is ready or not. Along the way, Ian and Danielle find an easy attraction to one another and they become closer and closer. Ian's adaptation to modern life is humorous as well as quick and Danielle's ease with Ian is very appealing. In fact, the relationship between the couple becomes super steamy.
In the meantime, both evil drough,Dierdre and Declan Wallace continue their plans to end the Warriors and take over the world. Their presence itself leaves a dark cloud hanging over everyone's world that the Warriors as well as the Druids need to eliminate.
The union of the Druids with the Warriors and an easy one. They have become one as the years have gone on and accepting of new Warriors as well as Druids. They still must remain hidden from the modern world as McLeod Castle is on no modern map and it's been hidden for centuries by Druid magic.
Will Ian be able to come to terms with his twins death and keep Farmire at bay. Will Danielle convince him he is no danger to her and he is a good man who deserves the love she wants to give? All of these questions are answered in Midnight's Lover by Donna Grant. Grab it as soon as you can.
Yes, I am a HUGE fan of the Dark Sword and now the Dark Warriors series. These characters have become family to me and I am invested in their outcomes. Midnight's Lover is now my favorite read so far. Donna Grant is so at home in this series, it's like a homecoming, a reunion with family and friends. Her writing only gets better and better. I am now waiting with bated breath for the next book, Midnight's Seduction to release. I believe that Donna Grant has definitely come into her own with this direction her series has taken and I thank her for such an amazing book.
A ver... Si te he visto, no me acuerdo"
A pesar de todo, la historia me gustó en parte por la historia en general, la de saber qué pasó con los demás personajes y la búsqueda que están realizando. La historia central, no.
Ian has such a heartbreaking beginning in this new time. Ian did not even have the time to mourn the loss of his brother before he was jerked from the life he knew and thrown four hundred years into the future, into a time he does not understand, into a place where he is all alone. Now he has to not only deal with the loss of his twin Duncan, but he must learn how to control the god within him at his full force all alone. Duncan and Ian had always shared their god. Oh, Ian just makes you want to cry for him. He is lost and confused and wants nothing more than to end Dierdre.
Due to a terrible loss at an early age Danielle was raised by an aunt that made sure she knew about most of her Druid heritage. This is a blessing in a way. Her ability (that she hates) would have been mighty confusing to a person who is unaware of the magic in the world. Her magical ability is about to turn her New Year’s Eve upside down and change her life forever. The worst night of Dani’s life is about to turn into the best thing that has ever happened, Ian.
Ian and Dani were perfect for each other. Her knowing of her Druid heritage allows for her to take in everything Ian is going to tell her. She also understands him more than he gives her credit for. Her openness to the magic allows for her to be more open to the feelings in her surroundings. The moment something is amiss she realizes it, while she may not know what it is she knows what it is not. Dani truly was exactly what Ian needed at this moment in his life.
I like villains, but I love a well-played villain. The fact that Declan and Dierdre have plans for each other is great. Readers are typically treated to good vs. evil. Donna has treated her readers to two vile individuals that have brought evil vs. evil to the pages. This is such a treat for me. I love the big evil for my literary treats to have large enough roles in what I am reading that I get page time with them. I enjoy reading from the villain’s point of view. I like to know what is going on with them other than the muddling up of the lives of the hero and heroine. Donna’s two villains are a pleasure for me and I am so looking forward to the moment when her sexy Warriors bring them down.
I have to admit even though I am not a reader of historical romance I am very curious about Duncan. I just may have to go back and read the Dark Sword books. Duncan and Ian seemed to have more than the typical twin relationship. They were each other’s rock. Even though I started reading these books after Duncan is gone I can still see how they relied on each other and he is missed terribly by his brother. All the heroes and heroines from the Dark Sword series have me more and more curious about those books.
Luckily, I got book two right away and could dive into Midnight's Lover without a break. I was super excited to actually get to Ian because I was worried. He's a warrior fighting his God for control - A task that he thinks is impossible... Man, I love Ian. Ian makes me weak.
Bring on Dani and the cutest first night scene ever. I mean, holy cow, when Ian rescues her and gets naked with her just so he can keep her warm... I mean... WOW, that scene was hot while being incredibly sweet. And let me tell you, it stays not the only hot scene...
There is a scene where Ian and Dani actually have sex through prison bars. Okay, I admit it, that sounds majorly weird, but it's not. I thought it was soooooo good. Call me weird, but that's just what some books need: Something that hasn't been there before. Seriously, Donna Grant, that scene was just perfect.
+++ End Spoiler +++
Ian brings Dani back to the castle he had spent most of his life in - Even though most of the time it feels as if Dani actually brings him back there. During all the struggles, all the fights, Dani stays consistent, hanging on to what means the world for her: Ian. It's incredible, believable and just right.
This series about druids, magic and the hottest warriors ever is a read that will keep you occupied without making you realize that time actually passes. I badly makes me want to go to Scotland and see all those amazing things for myself... And who knows, maybe my warrior is out there, too! *wink*
Ian Kerr is a fierce warrior, and he is trying to control the god within himself from taking over. Ian lost his twin brother to another warrior who was allied with his enemy Deidre. Ian has lost everything that is important to him, including the MacLeod's who are like family to him. Ian knows if he can not control the god within himself, that he will never have a family or someone to love.
While out hunting for dinner, Ian hears the shrieks of Deidre's Wyrran and knows immediately that there must be a Druid near by. Ian must act fast before the Wyrran kidnap the Druid, and take her back to Deidre. Just as the Druid is running away from the Wyrran, she falls through the ice and now Ian has to save her AND kill the Wyrran.
Ian Carr has just saved the one person who can help him learn to control the god within himself. Danielle Buchanan is the light in Ian's life. Danielle has no idea that the man who saved her life is a warrior, and is on the verge of losing himself to the god within himself. Can Ian control the god inside him? Will Ian also be able to control his feelings for the beautiful Danielle, and manage to keep her safe from Deidre and himself as well?
Donna Grant writes a spellbound love story of two people who lost loved ones to tragedy only to find each other in their own tragedy in the making. Ian and Danielle are perfect for one another. You will fall in love with Danielle's undying love and devotion that she has for Ian in his time of despair. All of the paranormal romance readers will love reading Donna Grants novel “Midnight's Lover.”
Donna Grant makes even a fierce, battle loving, blue god look sexy!
What I loved about this book... I hope you're sitting down this may take a while. This was my first book by Donna Grant. Why didn't anyone tell me what I was missing? As the hero in the second book in the Dark Warriors Series, Ian could not have been a better fit. He's big, he's hot and he's battling an internal demon that won't quit. Who doesn't love a slightly imperfect hero? Ian needs the strength and courage to beat his god and take control. Dani has that inner strength that Ian needs to win the battle of wills against his inner god and she’s more than happy to lend a helping hand… or more. Of course we know in the end he does win. After all, this is a romance, not a horror. But the story, with its twists and turns is not to be missed. Who will betray the Warriors trust in the end? Will the Warriors figure it out before it's too late and tragedy strikes once again? Will they finally face Deirdre and make her pay? I know... but I can't tell you. You'll have to go get the book and find out for yourself. I will say this, however, I'm definitely hooked. Who wouldn’t be hooked instantly on a Highland castle filled with hot Warriors?
So now I sit here trying to think of something that I didn’t like about Midnight’s Lover and if I’m to be completely honest, as I sit here and rack my brains, I can’t seem to think of a single thing. It was very well written, action packed and with enough romance and steamy scenes to make a jaded person melt. Well done, Mrs. Grant. You’ve got yourself a new fan and follower.
Actually I give this one 3 and a half stars. I loved Ian & Dani. Ian was such a tormented soul after losing his brother Duncan and then having to battle their god all on his own. But Dani helped him keep in control over him. Like I said, I loved this story about Ian & Dani but it drove me nuts how Ian was in denial (the others too) about the fact that it was with Dani's help that he could keep his god in check........... and it went on for several pages!! And several more & so on. I wanted to smack him!! ughhh They both needed each other. I felt totally drained when I got to the end but very happy for Ian & Dani. Anxiously awaiting the next one in the series. :)
This novel is #2 in the series, "Dark Warriors" by author; Donna Grant. In this series so far and I mean from the very beginning with the "Dark Sword" series, this novel is by far the most intense and with a lot of suspense. The reader truly feels for the main character and the anguish of losing his twin and trying to gain control of the evil God within him. This novel is really full of twist and turns and let me add in the romance. This was an enjoyable fast-paced read. I recommend this series, novel and author. You won't be disappointed! Happy Reading!
I loved the all the characters, so endearing, strong, loyal and compassionate. The plot was fast-paced, soooo very romantic and so hot.
Ian and Dani were so perfect for each other. Ian fought to keep his god away and avoid his painful past while Dani embraced her loss and cherished each of those moment. They learned and taught each other to move forward...like I said, romantic to a fault.
It was nice to finally learn more about Ian in this book! Not to mention that the heroine, Dani, is full of life and tenacious! Reading about Ian's struggle with his god and his grief over losing his brother really brought home to me that Duncan is really dead! Sad day! I really loved this book and think that it is a nice addition to the series. Can't wait for the next one!
After being pulled forward in time by the evil drough Deirdre, Ian is struggling to deal with the loss of his twin and the controlling God that consumes him. While hiding away from the world he unexpected comes upon Danielle and is drawn to her. Their connection and attraction are instant, but Ian fears that without control of his God, he will never be good enough for Danielle.
From the moment Ian Kurr lost his twin, he's been struggling. Before he had a chance to accept his loss, he is thrown 400 years into a future he knows nothing about. When Duncan was killed, the god he and Ian shared, merged into one inside Ian. Unsure he can control Farmine, the god of battle, Ian isolates himself in the Highland mountains to protect humans and druids alike. For weeks that's all he's done. Until the awful cries of Deirdre's creatures force him into battle again. Danielle Buchanan is a Druid with an unusual gift. Her power is to bring together lost items and their owners, or suffer immeasurable pain until she does. After a ruined date, Dani finds herself knee-deep in snow, and with an ancient key in her hand. Demanding that she goes to MacLeod castle immediately, the key makes Dani face an upcoming snowstorm of dangerous proportions. When her car crashes and leaves her stranded, Dani is forced to walk in freezing weather to find help and shelter. That's when things get really complicated. Pursued by horrific creatures, Dani almost dies but is saved by a warrior instead. The attraction between Dani and Ian is instant and overwhelming. Her magic captures him instantly and drives his desires wild, but it also calms his god and allows Ian to find peace. Meanwhile, in the castle, things are far from what they used to be. With both Deirdre and Declan out to capture the druids and destroy the warriors, Ian and Dani will need to stick close together to survive new enemies, heal from their losses and find happiness in a world that is far from perfect. The search for Deirdre's twin continues as every artifact needed to find her is gathered. The warriors know the end is near, but there is a lot going on that will test loyalties, friendships, and hearts. Donna Grant is quite brilliant in her craft of new characters good and evil, who will populate the world of druids and warriors, and make sense of all the magic that permeates beautiful Scotland. I love these warriors and the wonderful mates they find along the way...
Overall, it was a good book. Once the story eventually gained momentum it was the drama, action and intrigue that kept me captivated until the very end. Malcolm felt like a truly broken soul and his cousin Larena’s anguish over what has happened to him was palpable. Saffron’s suffering also played on my empathy and I am very curious to see if Camdyn, who obviously cares for her, will give in to his feelings. I must give credit to Deirdre as a truly evil character to be afraid of, as opposed to Declan Wallace who I’m not sure I can take seriously, portraying less a Darth Vader type and more along the lines of a male Wicked Witch of the West.
“I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!”
I wasn’t as fond of the hero and heroine, Ian Kerr and Danielle Buchanan. Oh, I absolutely felt Ian’s emotional pain and constant struggle where his brother, Duncan, and his god, Farmire, are concerned. However, his legitimate inner turmoil often bordered on pessimism and self loathing that unfortunately detracted from him being an otherwise commendable Dark World Warrior. As for Danielle, her character seemed to be a victim of inappropriate affect in that her emotional responses or reactions were often not in keeping with the situations at hand. Although I felt pity for her after enduring such a traumatic childhood, she didn’t feel like the strong Druid characters that have been introduced in previous books of this series.
How were the steamy scenes? Definitely naughty. The romantic passion between Ian and Dani? Meh.
This story may be my least favourite Dark World book but only in the context of ‘so far’ as I still look forward to continuing this fantastical journey.
Ian said it best: “Shite. We’re really going to awaken Deirdre’s twin.”
-3 stars. i havent been reading a lot of romance novels lately. they seem to just irritate me. stupid people doing stupid things because love. all the stupidity is aggravating. seems like romances that happen in fantasy novels dont have all this angst and stupidity like full on romance novels do.
in this book a guy has himself locked in a dungeon to 'protect' his love, and she asks how he can protect her from the bag guy if he's locked up. then the bad guy hurts her again and he cant help her cuz hes locked in a dungeon. stupid.
another example is the leader immediately trusts a stranger even though two of his warriors don't trust the stranger at all. leader ignores them when he usually listens to them. surprise, stranger is a bad guy. stupid. i kept rolling my eyes. i'm wondering why i keep reading this series.
Danielle came to Scotland when she was young and her parents had died. She lived with her aunt who taught her about the Druid magic that she had. She could touch an object and it would tell her where it belonged. So when she found a key that told her to go to MacLeod castle, she followed the directions that it gave her. On the way, she had a car accident and then wyvern began to chase her. That is when she met Ian. Ian is still struggling to control his god. But he promises to get Danny to the castle. There is danger around all of people in the castle. Both Declan and Deidre have sent people into the castle. Deidre sent Malcolm to retrieve a druid and to destroy many lives. Get this exciting story to find out what other excitement happens with the amazing warrior heroes!
This book tells Ian’s story. It was heartbreaking when his brother, Duncan, was killed a few books back. The brothers’ shared a unique bond as identical twins, as well as the bond from sharing a god. Danielle is a good match for Ian, but I felt like she took everything too easily. Even though she is aware of magic, since she is a practicing druid, she seemed almost unaffected by Ian’s leap through time, the warriors, and the war she inadvertently joined...it made it difficult to really buy into the story for a while. I love that there was a good amount of time spent at the castle and am looking forward to the next book, which should pick up pretty much where this one ended.
This was book 2 of this series, and with all of Donna Grant's book you are pushed into a world of magic and mystery. We catch up with Ian Kerr, a warrior that is now.lost without his brother. Can he win the ultimate fight, or will the God Framire win?
Danielle knows loss, she knows pain, and she knows that magic is real and that she has it. When she finds things she must them where they belong.
These two are thrust into an adventure that can only lead them to the McLeods, powerful warriora who will do anything to stop the evil that still hunts for them.
The book was interesting, kept me turning the pages until done. Worth every moment.
This book was so intense and full of suspense. I could almost feel Ian's pain as he struggled to control his God while managing to overcome Duncan's loss. He was slowly losing himself in his inner god, but suddenly he had to rescue Danielle, a very special Druid who was meant to take something very important to the MacLeods. But taking her there means facing his demons, since they are his family but never went to look for him. It's amazing to see him struggling for control over his god and his growing feelings towards Dani. One of the best books in the saga (I'm counting Dark Sword as part of it, too).
