The first few chapters were hard to fully get into but once I got further, it was hard to stop. (Granted it often takes me a minute to get into some books with the building.) A good fantasy book for all ages, especially younger crowd, but still a good read as an adult. The visuals at the start of every chapter and occasionally through out, make it even more kid friendly. I love how the end of the book sets up for potentially more stories. I didn’t expect the story to go where it went, but it brings back memories as a child of the adventures and stories we’d create from such small things. Would recommend.
Sword and Bow is a classic quest story. It's exciting, unpredictable and wholesome. The world building is fascinating without being overwhelming. It's a quick and easy read that I couldn't put down; I hope to one day read it with my own children. Hopefully there will be a lot more books in the series out by then! I look forward to seeing how the story continues and what happens to all of the characters, they're endearing and intriguing.
In this new release by debut author Jeff Denoncour, brothers Jeff and Sam partake in a wild and crazy adventure! Beautifully detailed by the author's words and illustrated with black and white sketches in each new chapter. This would be a good story for fourth to fifth-graders or any reader who adores courageous children, dragons, and kingdoms.
Can confirm that this is an exciting adventure full of twists and turns, monsters, and bravery. While it may be written for a younger crowd, adults can find this book to be a quick read that will keep them reaching for more. For those younger readers it will have them captivated and excited to learn what comes next, maybe even inspire them to have an adventure of their own. Highly recommended.
