A Treatise on Cosmic Fire

Rate this book
A Treatise on Cosmic Fire deals with the underlying structure of occult teaching for the present era, with vast cosmic processes reproduced through all areas of life from universe to atom. It is, therefore, no book for the proof-demanding concrete mind, or for those who dabble in the spectacular and the phenomenal. The true student, however, the seriously applied aspirant, will find his mind stimulated and his consciousness expanded.

Pease note: this is a different author from Alice Bailey.

Alice A. Bailey (1880-1949) was an English esoteric practitioner and writer.
At the age of 35, she entered the Theosophical Society center in Los Angeles (USA), at the Pacific Grove Theosophical Lodge. In 1919, Bailey (39 years old) severed her ties to the Theosophical Society and began to write texts that he claimed were dictated telepathically by a certain "Tibetan," or "D. K. ». She published those texts under the title Human and Solar Initiation. There she made known the existence of the spiritual hierarchy, which Madame Blavatsky had already spread, although not in an orderly way.
She later revealed that the Tibetan D.K. was the master Djwal Khul. She wrote using the teacher's name for 30 years, from 1919 until her death in 1949.

This book deserves five stars because it is a tome of immeasurable value to human understanding. It is not an easy read by any means. It requires patience, concentration and contemplation. Most of its ideas are so abstract and complex that I can only read a few paragraphs at a time before I fall asleep..as though my mind is rationing the amount of knowledge I take from it. Even then I have to annotate the text and draw diagrams to deepen my understanding. I have read the same passage over and over, put it aside, and returned to it later to find it makes more sense. Thus it contains knowledge that goes on working in your subconscious mind.

Excellent Book. I have been studying this for the last 40 odd years - I am still finding more meaning in it every day. I am actually writing a book that unlocks some of the secrets in here as well as the Secret Doctrine. Hoping to have it released in the next 12-24 months.

By;- Mike j Hughes-

Well ,- it took me many years to read it over several times before I began to have some deep understanding of how the cosmos works through various grades of Spiritual and the Lunar Hierarchies , and of how Humanity fits into this grand scheme of cosmic evolution.
I have been a student of esoteric occultism for many years ,- since the age of about 13 or so.
As a young teenager, many of the adults in my life thought as always , that I was just passing through a temporary ''phase''. However over time , as I entered my late teens and early 20's I began to take My studies more serious , as I pondered , contemplated , and engaged in the ''art'' of meditation ,and a group meditation known as ''Transmission meditation''.
This was a new kind of meditation which was given to Benjamin Creme' by His Teacher ,- who is a Master of Wisdom of a highly developed constitution .

''A Treatise on Cosmic Fire'' was a major undertaking as a project, and after a while I went to a great bookstore and purchased about 6 or 7 books by;- Alice .A . Bailey Books .
It was not long before I accumulated a personal library with all the books being the Alice . A. Bailey Teachings , H . P Blavatsky , Benjamin Creme' The Agni-Yoga , Leadbeater , Micheal Robinson , and so much other related materials.

These books alone have had a profound effect on my life , and have given me
an inner realization of how big , vast, and beyond comprehension is both outer and inner cosmos.
One day all will evolve far beyond the Human stage of evolution , to become in cycles far and distant,- planetary and solar Logoi

We are in a perpetually state of Becoming , and eternal unfoldment revealing layer after layer and Glory after Glory of THAT TITAN in us ALL.

A group of us studied this book for three years, completing the work in 2013. It's been a part of my studies for many years, but this was the first time any of us had studied and discussed it page by page. Well worth the effort!

For me to explain what I think about this book most likely would not accurately appraise a book as worthy as this may be. Although this book may be complicated to read, if you take the time to meditate and break down the things she talks about in this book... much illumination may come about.... much illumination may come about.

I only gave it 4 stars because of the difficulty of this book to understand for most.

Loving it. Back to reading A.A.B. after a break of about 15 years.
A word of warning if you have never read Alice A Bailey: Her books are extremely difficult to read. In a regular reading session I can usually read 15 pages. With this book, I read about 3 pages per reading session. They are however very rewarding in terms of the information they contain: a rare esoteric knowledge, without a doubt.

Very difficult book but a cornerstone of the Theosophical/Esoteric paradigm. I dip in and out rather than attempt a read through (same with the Secret Doctrine). Highly recommended as an outreach of the Spiritual Hierarchy. Now started a read-through as it is THE modern go-to until the new teaching appears after 2025.

Ho iniziato a leggerlo nel 2012. Sono arrivata a pagina 400. Lo trovo molto difficile da capire. Sto leggendo altri libri nella speranza di formarmi Delle basi che mi facilitino la comprensione.

Keeping this review short, as this is a very long and highly detailed book!

It is the Bhagavad Gita on steroids. It is parallel to it in terms of the Eastern philosophy and structure utilized, but with the multi-dimensional details.

In the book's parallel to the Bhagavad Gita, I concede that the repetition of one's practice, i.e., chanting is akin to one's repeatedly doing something in order to get what is learned correct. In the Treastise's point, one is to repeatedly continue one's practice (religiously, it's ritual) in order to reach one's higher self, and re-connect to the Universe of which we are a part. In the Bhagavad Gita, I contended that if one just chants to no end without the purpose of same meaning (reaching the deity with one's heart), then there is no point in doing the chanting. So, I stand corrected.

Nevertheless, this book is not for the faint of heart. Again, it is highly detailed and multi-structured insofar as how the solar system and its relation to nature, earth and mankind. The point again, is for humankind to come to understand itself through one's willing to understand one's individual self, in order to re-connect to the Universe of which we are a part, not better than creation.

So many keen expressions, words, understandings. Like a technology of the cosmos. Written through A.A. Bailey by The Tibetan. Like a feast of eastern beliefs expressing unity of all religious belief. My logic and philosophy teacher presented it in a free evening class in the early 70's and that's how I met it. Of course, going to school there were many thick books we were forced to buy, anthologies and the like. So, I bought the book. I learned later of other volumes. My teacher also offered a class in A Treatise on White Magic and among the many volumes that the Tibetan presented there was one Reappearance of the Christ which was critical to me on my spiritual path.

Another Alice Bailey book that is a transcription of "the tibetan." This one is an esoterica on the use of energy by the adept. Again, I don't know if I subscribe to it, but I learned a lot from reading it.
