This is a charming book for adult Little Golden Books fans, since it reprints three of their vintage children's books illustrated by the legendary Gustaf Tenggren in a larger format. The artwork on The Shy Little Kitten (1946) and The Lion's Paw (1959) is sourced from Tenggren's original paintings, revealing details missing in the original printed versions with lovely, saturated color. The other book included here, The Saggy Baggy Elephant (1947), suffers from the artwork being scanned from a secondary source (probably the original printed book). Although the artwork is blurry, the story is a great morality tale for misfit kids of all ages to learn from. I found this vintage 1990s book for a cheap price at a local thrift store - for artists, it's well worth seeking out.
